Widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading equestrian showcases, Dressage and Jumping with the Stars highlights excellence at every level of the sport. From young horses beginning their competitive journey to elite combinations competing in the CDI3* Grand Prix and CSI-W World Cup classes, the event demonstrates the strength, diversity, and progression of Australian equestrian sport.

The 2026 program is supported by an accomplished panel of judges and officials drawn from Australia and internationally, across both dressage and jumping disciplines. Their expertise, combined with the presence of leading guest athletes, will deliver three days of high-performance competition, education, and exceptional horsemanship.

The MARG MCIVER TROPHY - Donated by the Victorian Dressage Club, awarded to the FEI Dressage World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Champion.

To mark the 80th birthday of Paul Schockemöhle, a surprise celebration took place in Wellington, Florida — hosted by his long-time friend and business partner Ulli Kasselmann and his family. The location was chosen with intention: a return to the United States, where the story of Performance Sales International first began.

Evelyn Eger and Frederic Wandres Lead Germany’s Charge to a Third Straight Nations Cup Title

Germany finished the 2025 FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ season the same way they began it, with victory. Their dominance began at Wellington (USA) and continued at Compiegne (FRA) and Aachen (GER) before concluding at Falsterbo (SWE). With four wins from five starts Germany comfortably clinched the series title for the third year in a row, finishing ahead of the Netherlands and Belgium. Germany‘s Frederic Wandres and his Olympic partner Bluetooth OLD did not disappoint as they led their nation to a second consecutive FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ victory Saturday at Compiegne.

Falsterbo’s squad was among the least experienced at the level, but the young group of Tessa Frank (Lavaletta), Evelyn Eger (Tabledance), and Svenja Kämper-Meyer (Amanyara M FRH) once again rose to the occasion.

The FEI Dressage European Championships for Children, Juniors and Ponies in Le Mans (FRA) was dominated by Germany, who took team gold in all three age categories.

In the children‘s event, Lilly Kasselmann with Vodka Soda, Laura Kohoutek with Shakeela FRH, Marielen Theresa Osterhoff with Davina and Lynn Sophie Soddemann with Fürst Schwarzenberg each delivered solid tests to secure the gold medal ahead of Belgium and the Netherlands. INTRODUCING Insa Hansen (GERMANY)

For more than four decades, Insa Hansen has been a defining figure at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen a.T.W., Germany. Her name stands for horsemanship, consistency and the highest professional standards in dressage sport. Over the course of her career, she has played a key role in shaping both horses and riders at the very top of the sport — most notably contributing to the development of Olympic Champion Frederic Wandres. Today, she also trains Lilly Kasselmann, currently ranked World No. 1 in the Children division.

Her sporting résumé is as extensive as it is impressive: Hansen has celebrated more than 100 Grand Prix victories and accumulated over 1,000 wins and placings in dressage competitions, spanning young horse classes through to advanced level. She has produced countless horses to Grand Prix standard, with internationally recognised names such as Bluetooth, Weltclassiker, Robinvale, Sa Coeur, Rebroff, Dom Perignon and Diamond’s Diva among those developed under her guidance.

In recognition of her lifelong contribution to the profession, Hansen was awarded the Golden Badge of Merit by the German Association of Professional Riders (BBR) last year — an honour reflecting both her sporting achievements and her influence as a mentor. Her work is grounded in the principles of the German training scale, combined with a deep sense of responsibility for the horse. Respect, correct development and long-term partnership remain central to her philosophy. These are values she not only lives by herself, but also instils in the next generation. As a trainer, Hansen has guided more than 25 apprentices through their professional education.

Her return to Werribee promises to once again bring experience, knowledge and horsemanship of the highest calibre to Australian audiences — reinforcing the international partnership and exchange of expertise that define P.S.I. Dressage & Jumping with the Stars.

MASTERCLASS PRESENTER

Introducing Philip Spivey (GREAT BRITAIN)

British international showjumper Philip Spivey is widely respected for his hands-on expertise in starting, producing, and developing young horses for top-level sport. He is best known for breaking in and producing the stallion Romanov, guiding him from his first rides through to international Grand Prix competition.

Under Philip, Romanov progressed to represent Great Britain on Nations Cup teams in Lisbon and Linz. The partnership travelled extensively to compete at major venues, including Spruce Meadows, Calgary, where they placed in the prestigious $1 million Grand Prix. Romanov later advanced to five-star competition and became an influential well known international sire, with offspring now competing at Grand Prix level worldwide.

A regular competitor at leading venues including Hickstead and across the European circuit, Philip has built his career around developing horses capable of progressing to international competition. His work centres on establishing correct foundations, rideability, confidence, and long-term soundness — key qualities in producing horses for elite sport and sustainable careers.

Based in Suffolk, he continues to start, produce, and campaign young horses while mentoring riders and supporting performance breeding programs. His practical experience in developing horses from their first rides through to Nations Cup level gives him a balanced and informed perspective when assessing young sport horses.

DRESSAGE GUEST JUDGES

PATRICIA WOLTERS – NETHERLANDS – FEI L3

My name is Patricia Wolters, born and living in the Netherlands. I’m a proud breeder of KWPN horses. I trained several of them all the way up to small tour level. Since 2008 I’m a trainer at national level and in 2014 I became a national Grand Prix judge and judged many national championships.

Since 2019 I’m a FEI judge and since 3 years L3/4*.

In 2024 I judged the European Championships Ponies and the World Championships Young Horses in Ermelo; in 2025 the European Championships Young Riders in Kronberg and the World Championships Young Horses in Verden. This year I’m grateful to be appointed to be part of the judging panel at the European Championships U25 in Hungry.

VITTORIO BARBA – PHILIPPINES – FEI L3

Vittorio “Vic” Barba is an FEI 4* Dressage Judge and FEI Young Horse Judge from Manila, Philippines, and a fashion designer by profession. His equestrian career began in eventing before a pivotal encounter with German Olympian Ulla Salzgeber inspired him to pursue dressage, a path that led to his victory as Southeast Asian Games Dressage Champion in 1995.

Vic officiates widely across the Australasian dressage circuit and has also judged in Europe and the United States. He is an active trainer and clinician, conducting clinics throughout the

SUE HOBSON – NEW ZEALAND – FEI L3

Sue lives in Pahiatua and is married to Brian, has a daughter Shelley and two granddaughters. Sue was a founder and ex-Director of Hobson Horse coaches and Motorhomes Limited for over 45 years, a company started in 1978. Has been a sponsor for 35 years in DNZ Challenge Series but have since sold the business. She is an FEI Young Dressage Horse judge and has trained horses to compete in YDH classes for some very good results. She has been past President of Equestrian Sport NZ and also past Chair of Dressage in NZL and has spent many years as National Judges Officer for Dressage NZ where she was responsible for the training and development of many

Philippines and across Asia.

Judging in Werribee brings back special memories for Vic, as he was part of the Philippine team that won the gold medal in show jumping and the bronze medal at the Asia Pacific Equestrian Games held there.

He has served on the Ground Jury at major regional and continental events, including the FEI Asian Championships (2019, 2025), the 2025 Southeast Asian Games, and this year’s Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

She enjoys the challenge of the sport and seeing the continual improvement coming through from our horses and riders at world class level.

HELEN HUGHES-KEEN – NEW ZEALAND - FEI L3

Helen is based in Ohariu Valley, Wellington, New Zealand and has enjoyed a long and varied involvement with equestrian sport, having ridden in most disciplines including Endurance.

Specialising in Dressage since the early 80’s as a competitor, coach, owner and judge. Past Chair of DNZ National Selectors and ESNZ High Performance selection Committee.

Jane resides in country Victoria and has served for 40 years as a National Judge, has enjoyed officiating in all states of Australia, including judging Young Horses and more recently in Para Dressage. As an FEI L3/4*Dressage, FEI YH judge and now FEI L3/4* Para Dressage judge, Jane has accepted invitations to judge at various International events and Championships not only in Australia but also Europe, Denmark, New Zealand, China, Japan and the SE Asian

MARIA SCHWENNESEN – AUSTRALIA - FEI L4

Maria resides in Queensland and is a 5* (level 4) FEI dressage, young horse judge and mentor.

She has worked on the board of IDOC for many years, been the chair of the national dressage committee, the board of Equestrian Qld, selector for 2 Olympic Games

and medication control both nationally and statewide. Currently she works with judge education on the Qld officials committee. She has judged many Young Horse World Championships, European, World Cup Finals, Asian Games and World Challenges around the world.

SUSIE HOEVENAARS – AUSTRALIA - FEI L4

As An FEI judge for over 20 years, Susie’s passion for horses started when she was 7 years old. Whilst on the board of the IDOC, Susie, supported by the Club, has initiated the IDOC Asia Pacific workshop offering national grand prix and FEI judges the opportunity for 4-5 days of intensive instruction and discussion with some of the worlds’ top FEI educators. This has become so popular it is now a bi-annual event.

MARY SEEFRIED – AUSTRALIA – FEI L4

Mary is currently one of about 30 Olympic level (5*) judges in the world. She has judged at Sydney Olympic Games, two World Equestrian Games, three World Cup Finals as well as all over Europe, USA and has assisted in the Asian region at two Asian Games and two SE Asian Games.

In 2013, the FEI appointed her to the Judges Supervisory Panel which ensures fairness in judging at major championships. She will be on the panel

Connie is an FEI L2/3* and FEI Young Horse dressage judge with over 30 years of judging experience. On a national level she is a Judge Educator/Mentor & Steward, as well as a Young Horse & Para Equestrian dressage judge. She is a former National Dressage Selector & was proudly part of the Officials Team for the Tokyo Olympics. CHRISTINE SIEVERS – AUSTRALIA – NATIONAL A LEVEL

Chris is a National A level (GP) Dressage Judge, National Young Horse Judge, Judge Educator and Mentor and FEI rider with over 30 years as a professional coach. A qualified dressage judge since 1992 her passion for dressage continues to grow and

Test movements are not marked individually; instead scores are given out of ten for walk, trot and canter, the horse’s aptitude for dressage and harmony between horse and rider. As the overall impression is paramount, a horse which makes ‘mistakes’ may still receive high marks.

The judges are trying to encourage the production of talented, supple and systematically trained horses and ponies.

JUDGING PROCEDURE:

First Round:

• 4yo, 5yo, 6yo Commanded Test: to be ridden one or two horses or ponies at a time in the arena

• the Ground Jury will consist of 3 FEI and/or EA accredited Young Horse judges who will sit together at E or B

• test will be the appropriate age test as per EA/FEI

• each horse will be awarded a mark for each of the requirements on the judging sheet and a final score calculated

• The mark from the first round will not carry forward to the second round

• 7yo – FEI 7YO Preliminary Test ridden one at a time - technical judge at C and judges assessing quality at E or B Second Round:

• the top ten (10) placings (including equals) from the first round will go forward into the second round provided they have attained a score of no less than 6.5 (65%) in the first round

• the Ground Jury will consist of 3 FEI and/or EA accredited Young Horse judges who will sit together at C

• to be ridden one horse at a time

• 7yo Ridden 1 at a time - technical judge at C and judges assessing quality at E or B

• AYDH and AYDP final placings and National Age Group Champion are determined at the conclusion of the second round

FOR THE WELFARE OF THE HORSE

The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) expects all those involved in international equestrian sport to adhere to the FEI’s Code of Conduct and to acknowledge and accept that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be subordinated to competitive or commercial influences.

1. At all stages during the preparation and training of competition horses, welfare must take precedence over all other demands. This includes good horse management, training methods, farriery and tack, and transportation.

2. Horses and athletes must be fit, competent and in good health before they are allowed to compete. This encompasses medication use, surgical procedures that threaten welfare or safety, pregnancy in mares and the misuse of aids.

3. Events must not prejudice horse welfare. This involves paying careful attention to the competition areas, ground surfaces, weather conditions, stabling, site safety and fitness of the horse for onward travel after the event.

4. Every effort must be made to ensure that horses receive proper attention after they have competed and that they are treated humanely when their competition careers are over. This covers proper veterinary care, competition injuries, euthanasia and retirement.

5. The FEI urges all involved with the sport to attain the highest levels of education in their areas of expertise.

Celebrations began with the traditional P.S.I. Gala at the See- und Sporthotel Ankum, where more than 320 guests enjoyed a magical Winter Wonderland evening. A special moment was the presentation of the P.S.I. Award to Judy Ann Melchior, Managing Director of Zangersheide and one of the most influential figures in modern showjumping.

The following night, the P.S.I. Auction Centre was electric as buyers from around the world competed for the 2025 collection. The top price went to Chacoontilotta PS (Chacoon Blue), sold for €3.5 million, while Jongleur (Jameson RS2) became the top dressage horse at €1.9 million, heading to Australia. In total, 50 young stars found new homes with buyers from Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

PHILIP SPIVEY (GBR)

British international showjumper Philip Spivey is widely respected for his handson expertise in starting, producing, and developing young horses for top-level sport. He is best known for breaking in and producing the stallion Romanov, guiding him from his first rides through to international Grand Prix competition. His work centres on establishing correct foundations, rideability, confidence, and long-term soundness — key qualities in producing horses for elite sport and sustainable careers.

JEFF MCVEAN (AUS)

Jeff McVean is an Australian Olympic showjumper who represented Australia at the 1980 Moscow substitute Olympic Games in Rotterdam where he was placed 5th individual, 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

Jeff had an illustrious career internationally, competing in individual World Cup Finals, over 30 Nations Cups and major European events including Aachen where he was leading rider in 1988. 1985 through to 1989 Jeff featured in the top 10 International FEI rankings list. Following his international competition career, he relocated to New Zealand, where he became a leading figure in the sport as a competitor, coach, and high-performance team contributor. Jeff has also been closely involved in Nations Cup teams and the development of riders and horses across both Australia and New Zealand. Known for his sound horsemanship and practical approach, he has produced and guided horses and riders toward international competition while supporting high-performance pathways. His experience and lifelong commitment to the sport provide valuable perspective when assessing young sport horses and emerging talent.

VICKI ROYCROFT (AUS)

Australian equestrian Vicki Roycroft is a triple Olympian, representing Australia at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games in eventing and at the 1988 Seoul and 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in showjumping. She is the only female rider in the world to have competed in two equestrian disciplines at the Olympic Games. Vicki has also represented Australia at three World Championships — Stockholm 1990, Rome 1998, and Jerez 2002 — achieving 10th place individually and Leading Female Rider at Stockholm. Her championship mounts included Mickey Mouse, Coalminer, and Luna Luna. Vicki also competed in four World Cup Finals during her international career.

In 1987, riding Apache, Vicki made history by winning the Rome Grand Prix — the first Australian and the first woman to claim the title — a landmark achievement in international showjumping.

Beyond championship competition, Vicki has played a significant role in coaching and development, guiding riders and horses through the national pathway. Her practical approach and emphasis on confidence, partnership, and strong foundations provide valuable insight for judging young horses.

YOUNG JUMPING HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

COMPETITION PROCEDURE:

Scoring Young Jumping Horse Classes

• Each round is evaluated based on three main components, each scored on a scale of 0 to 10 and weighted by a specific coefficient: Jumping Technique (Coefficient 3): Marked out of 10 evaluates the take-off, sharpness (both front and back), bascule, and landing. Scope and Style (Coefficient 4): Marked out of 10 assesses the ease of a natural jump, quality of the canter, and overall attitude and confidence. Rideability and General Impression (Coefficient 3): Marked out of 10 focuses on how the horse performs between fences by considering harmony, rhythm, looseness, suppleness, natural balance, correct canter leads and striding, and the overall impression. Together, these scores contribute to a total possible mark of 100.

• Faults and Penalties - After the initial scoring, penalties are applied: Obstacle Faults: 4 points are deducted for each rail knocked down. Refusals: 1st refusal: 4 points deducted. 2nd refusal: 8 points deducted. 3rd refusal: Results in elimination. Time Penalties: There is an expected time to complete the course. For every second over the set time, 1 penalty point is added. (This rule encourages the horse to maintain the proper pace, similar to a showjumping round.

The final score for each round is the total score out of 100 minus any faults and time penalties.

• Advancement and Overall Results - At the end of 2 days, the top 10 competitors from each age group are invited back for an additional round. Competitors earn points for this round, which are added to their overall total. Final placements are determined by the overall leaderboard, with the highest point-scoring young horse declared the winner. This structured approach ensures that both performance quality and consistency are rewarded, while faults and time inefficiencies are appropriately penalised.

Samantha enjoyed many successful years as a hack rider, winning and placing at Royal and National level, before discovering her true passion lay in showjumping. Her junior jumping career was very successful, including top placings at Royal shows and the Australian Championships. Sam won the prestigious Ammo Young Rider Challenge, which earned her the opportunity to train at Klatte Stables in Europe,

an experience that proved invaluable, providing insight into the international standards of both riders and horses. Sam regularly competes at major events and enjoys breaking and producing talented young ponies for the junior riders of the future. Sharon Chester has been involved in the breeding and producing of top-level ponies and horses across multiple disciplines. Having enjoyed success in her early years at Melbourne Royal competing their homebred Welsh pony to competing top level showjumping, dressage and eventing and travelling all over the world with her husband Gavin. Sharon more recently turned

Walkenny Park Herbs was established by Denise Farrugia in 2002 with the goal of providing top quality herbs to the horse community.

Based at Heywood Horse & Country in western Victoria, her saddlery and feed store, Denise brings a wealth of experience to her business. She breeds English riding ponies and Warmbloods, competes in showjumping and dressage and helps her husband David run their 2000 ha cattle property. She gained her Certificate of Equine Herbal Medicine with The National College Of Traditional Medicine in 2004.

Walkenny Park Herbs has succeeded in it’s goal and now offers a consultation service and natural feeding innovations to horse owners who are looking for quality products and service.

Anyone whose lives are tied up with horses will tell you that defining moments in their life are often the result of their horses. So it was with me.

One of my English riding ponies that I bred at Walkenny Park, named Jock, sparked my fascination in herbal medicine for horses, that was in 2006. As a result I established Walkenny Park Herbs, completed my Certificate of Equine Herbal Medicine, and use my hands on experience with horses and livestock to heal our own animals naturally and help other horse owners who want to embrace herbs to heal their horses and provide them with first class health.

Dalgangle Welsh Mountain Pony Stud is one of the oldest and largest in Australia. Founded in 1964 it has always been part of the stud’s strength to breed ponies for children to ride, whilst having the temperament and beauty to highlight the breed. Whilst there is a lot of effort involved, it is all worth it to own these lovely ponies and see our children start their love affair with ‘The Horse’.

Scoring Young Jumping Pony Classes

• Advancement and Overall Results - At the end of day 2 final placings are determined by the overall leaderboard, with the highest point-scoring young pony declared the winner.

This structured approach ensures that both performance quality and consistency are rewarded, while faults and time inefficiencies are appropriately penalised.

Young Jumping Pony Champion of Champions:

The following will apply for the YJP Champion of Champions prize:

The Young Jumping Pony Champion of Champions will be chosen from the winners of each age group. All 3 judges will convene with all 3 winners. One of the guest star judges will then ride each horse and the 3 judges will, after all 3 horses have been ridden, decide the Champion of Champions.
