OPINION BY RAY SHAY I stood on the outdoor train platform in Bangkok, Thailand, last week, as lightning flashed across the dark morning sky. I could feel the rumbling thunder as the monsoon rain pounded the metal covering above me and drenched this city of over 10 million residents. As I stood in awe at the amount of rain coming down, I faced a critical decision. Walk to the information booth and speak to the gracious City employee who could help me buy a train ticket…or simply step into the bustling line of locals waiting to buy one from one of a dozen vending machines.I chose the latter. My rationale was simple. It’s something I remind each of my three sons frequently. “If you are not making mistakes you are probably not trying!”
