The Lord’s My Shepherd

Call to Worship

arr. Larry Shackley

Adapted from Steve Garnaas-Holmes

Creating God, you have made us in your image. You have fed us with your blessing. You have led us through our challenges. You have granted us grace when we least expected it. You are the fountain of blessing, the source of unending goodness. Alleluia! We turn to you. We thank you. We worship you. Come, Generous Spirit, and transform us by your grace. Alleluia!

Prayer of Confession

UMH #121

Adapted from Steve Garnaas-Holmes

Trusting in God’s loving kindness, we turn to God and one another, speaking of our need for healing, grace, and mercy. Let us pray together. God of mercy, we confess that we have sinned against you. We have distrusted your providence and sought life elsewhere when we should have turned to you. We have feared for ourselves and held onto things when we should have shared. Forgive our sin, heal our fear, and wash us clean, start us anew: remade by your grace, hungry for you alone, and ready to receive and to share your love in the name of Christ and the power of your Holy Spirit. silence for prayer

Words of Assurance

God’s mercy and love are here. And God’s mercy and love are more than we can take in. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen.

Prayers of the People The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
