Kate is a native of the North End and a PACC legacy, the daughter of Bud and Nancy Easton and the granddaughter of Captain and Mrs. Peter Easton. She attended Cape Henry Collegiate and Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. After living in Florida for a few years, she relocated to the beach where she worked for the Reed family. She is excited to begin a new career as the executive assistant to the owner of EDC Homes. Kate grew up swimming on the PACC swim team and always enjoyed summers with her friends at the Club. She is excited to continue to do so along with enjoying her new found love for golf!

She has enjoyed being a Member of PACC as part of her parent’s membership. As a young Member, she participated on the Breakers swim team and took tennis lessons at the Club. She attended the University of Georgia where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a minor in fashion merchandising, and a certificate in new media studies. She was also a member of Chi Omega. After graduating from UGA, she moved to NYC where she worked various jobs in the fashion industry. In 2018, she moved back to Virginia Beach and earned a master’s degree in strategic communications. Currently, Jennifer lives with her boyfriend Josh and their French bulldog Daisy. She hopes to add value as a new Member with her unique background and looks forward to being active in tennis, fitness and spending time by the pool. She is also looking forward to spending time with her family.

Jack works in investment real estate with Featherstone Partners while Georgia does consulting for the Department of Defense with Booz Allen Hamilton. Outside of their work life and family time, Jack serves on the board of Club Blue providing funds for advancement and support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hampton Roads and Georgia coaches youth soccer. They look forward to meeting the Members and contributing to the success of the Princess Anne Country Club.

Resident Full | Sponsor: Hugh Mac Weaver Mac is a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach and grew up swimming and playing tennis at the PACC. He graduated from Norfolk Academy in 2010 and The University of Virginia in 2014. After an almost eight-year career in office and industrial leasing and sales at CBRE and Colliers, he recently accepted a position at The Dragas Companies in Virginia Beach. At The Dragas Companies, he will be focused on new business development and will continue his role as a strategic advisor to owners and occupiers of office and industrial properties in Hampton Roads. In his free time, Mac enjoys spending time on the beach, playing catch with his golden retriever Zoe, and playing most any sport including basketball, golf and pickleball. As a reminder, under the current Waiting List Policy, dependent legacies converting to new membership will not be subject to the waiting list provided that they apply for the same membership classification which they currently enjoy.

MEMBERSHIP MATTERS Updated Waiting List Policy Changes are shown in green. As we navigate the intricacies of being on a waiting list, we realized that a few adjustments were needed. The Club's waiting list policy was updated by the Board on June 30, 2022 and now reads: In the event that the maximum number of Members is reached, the following system will be utilized to accept Members when a space becomes available. Members/applicants will be placed onto one of the following waiting lists in date order by the date their completed application or request for upgrade/transfer was received by the Membership Director: 1. New legacy applicants and current members requesting an upgrade 2. Reinstatements of former Members, current Members on a leave of absence, non-legacy new applicants When a space becomes available, individuals will be welcomed to the membership from the two waiting lists on a 1:1 ratio basis, permitting one new Member from list one, then one new Member from list two and so forth. Anytime the Club is on a waiting list, new Members wishing to upgrade must wait three years from the date of their membership activation to request the upgrade. Once the upgrade request is approved by the Board, the Member will be placed onto list one of the waiting list based on the date the request was received by the Membership Director.

Updated Membership Classifications and Facilities Privileges Policy Changes are shown in green. 3. Limit on Number of Members. The Bylaws stipulate that there be no more than 550 Regular members under the age of 70 years. There shall be no more than 740 regular resident members (full, athletic and surviving spouse) and no more than 160 non-resident full and surviving spouse members.

Updated Leave of Absence Policy Changes are shown in green. During times of hardship, a member may request one leave of absence, for a term of up to one year, within any given ten-year period. Payment of dues and existing comprehensive athletic or tennis supplements will not be required during the Leave of Absence. However, the member shall be responsible for payment of their monthly capital fee, for their pertinent class of membership. If the member has a locker, the locker will be forfeited when the member goes on Leave of Absence. Approval of a Leave of Absence is contingent upon bringing one’s account current. All such requests must be submitted to the Board of Directors. A member on a leave of absence may request a one-year extension of their leave. This request must be made in writing via an extension application form. The extension application form must be accompanied by a $75 application fee. If a member elects to take a Leave of Absence and subsequently decides to reactivate their membership, if applicable, they will be required to pay any intervening assessments for the class of membership to which they are returning. Current members on a Board approved Leave of Absence (effective date) will not be required to pay the monthly capital fee. If the member chooses to extend their one-year Leave of Absence for an additional year, the payment of the monthly capital fee will be required.

MEMBERSHIP MATTERS Rule Change | Golf Attire Changes are shown in green. a. General: Proper golf specific attire is required at all times on the course and on all the practice areas. Proper attire includes Bermuda shorts but does not include: denim blue jeans, cut-off shorts, tennis shorts, workout attire, bathing suits and non-golf sweatshirts with or without a hood. or other attire determined to be inappropriate by the Board of Directors. Shoes must be of the approved spikeless variety and are only permitted in the clubhouse lower level. All hats/caps must be worn facing forward. b. Ladies: Bare midriffs, bare backs, halter-tops, low-slung pants, short shorts and tank tops are inappropriate. Collarless and sleeveless shirts and shirts designed to be worn outside the pants are appropriate. Bermuda shorts and shorts/skorts that are less than five inches above the middle of the knee are appropriate. Golf specific leggings, Bermuda shorts, shorts, skorts and dresses should be of an appropriate length. c. Gentlemen: Tucked in shirts with sleeves and collars, including mock turtlenecks, are appropriate.

PACC 20/20 & Beyond and Other Improvement Updates Your PACC Team continues to work diligently to enhance your Club through replacement projects as well as adding new amenities. Below is an update on what’s in progress and in the pipeline for next fiscal year. As a reminder, you can view details of the PACC 20/20 & Beyond Master Plan here. • Breakers – Breakers is getting a refresh! New furniture has been ordered and was scheduled to arrive this summer. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues, the delivery has been pushed back to October. The space will also get a fresh coat of paint and new décor. • First Landing, Prince Charles Room and Virginia Ballroom – Carpet for the First Landing, Ballroom and Prince Charles Room has been ordered and will be installed late October. • Golf Simulator – As part of the PACC 20/20 & Beyond plan, an indoor golf simulator will be added to the northern bay of the golf cart barn. The goal is to begin construction early fall and open the golf simulator after the first of the year. • Ladies Lounge – The Ladies Lounge is getting a much-needed makeover! Be on the lookout for new wallpaper, carpet and other refreshed amenities in early 2023. • Linkhorn Lounge Refresh – Also a part of the PACC 20/20 & Beyond plan is a refresh of the Linkhorn Lounge. Preliminary plans include new carpet, drapes, furniture, lighting and a renovation to the bar area. While a construction start date has not yet been set, the project is set to take place in 2023 and we look forward to providing additional details soon. • Men’s Lounge – New carpet has been installed in the Men’s Lounge. • Pool and Tennis Locker Rooms – Both projects are scheduled to be updated in the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Stay tuned for more details. • Tennis Pro Shop – As many of you know, the Tennis Pro Shop was built in 1992 and, while the merchandise selection and products received rave reviews from you in our Memmber survey, the aesthetics leave a bit to be desired. The Pro Shop is scheduled for an update next fiscal year and we look forward to sharing the plan with you.

Welcome Caroline Bowden, Member Services Manager Please join us in welcoming Caroline to the Princess Anne Family. Caroline has lived in Virginia Beach for three years with her husband Dan, who is a Navy helicopter pilot. They love spending time walking their two pugs, Arnie and Olive on the beach and discovering new restaurants to try in the area. They are big foodies and also enjoy traveling. Before coming to PACC, Caroline was a first grade teacher for six years in Charlotte, NC and here in Virginia Beach. Her role at here is to provide direct assistance and support to our Members for their general needs, such as booking the Holly Beach Bungalow, website and mobile app assistance and other general inquiries. She will also provide direct assistance to Club departments and initiate Team engagement activities. Caroline is thrilled to be a part of the Princess Anne community and looks forward to meeting all of you, so stop by and say hello next time you're at the Club! THE GOLDEN RULES

The Golden Rules of Golf Will Set You Free. Out of Bounds at the Princess Anne Golf Course ONE STRIKE AND YOU'RE OUT! Dear Rules Guru, You might say I hit a short, straight, boring, down-the-line shot. It’s nothing to brag about! But last week, when I invited my brother to play the course, the number of out-of-bounds on our course was brought to my attention. He hits an impressive, long shot but not always down the middle! You get the picture! Questions about out of bounds at the PACC: Question 1: Can you explain how out of bounds is marked on our course? What are the different types of boundaries to look for? Answer: The out of bounds areas are marked in four different ways depending on the nature of the area in question. 1. White stakes: This is the most common method of indicating that the area beyond the stakes is out of bounds. Definition in the Rule book states 'the boundary edge is defined by the line between the course-side points of the stakes at ground level and the stakes themselves are out of bounds.' 2. White lines: In some areas it is impractical to use white stakes, so white lines are used. Specifically, on hole 12 there is a white boundary line to the right of the cart path connecting the white stake at the bridge to the white stake just past the pond. There is also a white line on hole 17 connecting the white stakes behind the 17th green. The line itself is out of bounds. 3. Fences: Boundary fences are identified by having white pvc strips approximately 18” long attached to the fence. In some cases there are also white stakes adjacent to each end of the fence. The boundary edge is defined by the line between the course-side points of the fence posts at ground level. The fence and posts are out of bounds. Note: split-rail fences are not boundary fences. 4. Roads: In some cases the boundary edge is defined by the edge of the road. Specifically, this applies to the following: between hole 4 and hole 5; behind the 6th green; behind the 11th green; behind the 16th green. By Local Rule, a ball that is beyond the road is out of bounds even if it comes to rest on another part of the course; ie: a ball played from hole 4 that comes to rest on hole 5.

When ball is out of bounds: A ball is out of bounds only when all of the ball is outside the boundary edge. The ball is in bounds when any part of the ball touches or overhangs the boundary edge. This is true even if only one dimple is overhanging the edge and no part of the ball is touching the ground. Roads that cross holes but are not out of bounds: Hole 2, hole 7, hole 8, hole 9, hole 12, hole 14 and hole 15. In most of these cases there is a white line on the road (to the right and left) which marks the boundary. A ball on or beyond the white line is out of bounds.

THE GOLDEN RULES Question 2: How do you take relief when you go out of bounds? And what is the penalty? Answer: 1. If the ball is out of bounds, the player must take stroke and distance relief by adding one penalty stroke and playing again from where the original stroke was made. For instance, if the tee shot was hit out of bounds, the player must play again from the teeing area and add a penalty stroke. The next stroke is the player’s third. 2. The PACC has adopted a Local Rule to speed play when a player has not played a provisional ball and cannot find the ball or finds it out of bounds. In this case, for a two-stroke penalty, the player can drop two club lengths into the fairway at a point that is the same distance from the hole as the point where the ball is estimated to have been lost or to have crossed the boundary line. Question 3: Are there any holes at PACC that out of bounds does not come into play? Answer: There is a boundary line on all 18 holes at the PACC. The only hole where it is extremely rare for the boundary to come into play is hole 7. There is a boundary line on the road both to the left and right of the 7th tee. Not sure if I’ve ever seen a player hit out of bounds there. Question 4: Can you give an explanation of out of bounds on hole number 4 and how the ditch comes in to play? Answer: The boundary stakes start on the left side of the hole beyond the red penalty area and tie into the road near the 5th tee. There is a ditch that runs parallel to the road. One side of this ditch is marked with a red line; the other side is defined by the edge of the road. A ball that is in the ditch but touching the road is in bounds. A ball that is on the road is out of bounds. A ball that comes to rest beyond the road is out of bounds even if it comes to rest on Hole #5.

Things to remember about out of bounds: • • • • •

If any part of the ball is in bounds, it is considered in bounds. If a fence is a boundary fence, you do not get free relief from the fence. If you think your ball may be out of bounds, you should announce and play a provisional ball. If your original ball is in play you must play that ball. You may never remove out of bounds stakes on the course even if one impedes your swing. Also, you do not get free relief from an out of bounds stake. You may stand out of bounds when hitting a ball in bounds.

Notable Achievements LADIES’ MEMBER-GUEST WOW!! What an amazing two days! The 2022 Martha-Macklin Smith Ladies Member-Guest was one to remember! We crowned a new champion, had a hole in one, drank a few orange crushes, had our tee gift personalized by a blacksmith, smiled a lot and had a ton of fun! A special congratulations is in order for our 2022 Martha Macklin-Smith Ladies Member-Guest Champions Evie Odom, Sherry Wrucke, Vicki Devine and Doris Addenbrook whose team score of 17 under par was good enough to claim the title by one stroke. We also want to recognize Martha Davidson whose hole in one on number 11 provided a ton of excitement (and a champagne toast). Congratulations to all of our winners! MEN’S MEMBER-GUEST The final day started off with a beautiful morning as the groups prepared for a great day of golf. Twelve teams headed to our closest to the hole competition where we started on #18 with an accumulative total distance between the two partners. Out of the twelve, three headed to the 17th hole: Joe Stoner and Dave Marbain, Jono Dahl and Tyler Osteen, and Brandon Beavers and Dan Peterson. The teams of Joe Stoner and Dave Marbain and Jono Dahl and Tyler Osteen both finished the first playoff hole with par. With both teams advancing to 18, Jono Dahl and his partner Tyler Osteen found themselves with two putts to win. A big congratulations to Jono Dahl & Tyler Osteen on their victory! The final day of the 2022 Super Senior Club Championship saw some great action by two formidable opponents. Number three seed Tommy Thomson took on the number four seed George Owens in the finals. The match was tied as they headed to the back nine. The match was tied heading into the 16th green, where Mr. Owens ultimately found himself one down going into 17. Mr. Owens grinded to win 17 to go into hole 18 all square. Both players parred hole 18 forcing the match to go into extra holes. In their 19th hole, Mr. Owens hit two perfect shots onto the green giving himself a look at birdie, but a great chance at par, which he eventually made to win the hole and hold the title of 2022 Super Senior Club Champion. Congratulations to George Owens on his victory, and a valiant effort for Tommy Thomson! Great playing to all who competed! CB MACDONALD INVITATIONAL ~ ROGER NEWSOM

Congratulations to Roger Newsom for his win at the CB MacDonald Invitational played at National Golf Links in Montauk, NY. The CB MacDonald honors Charles Blair MacDonald, who is considered to be the father of modern golf course architecture. He was the first U.S. Amateur champion, and his 1909 design of the National Golf Links of America was revolutionary. Roger made his way through an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round which determined the match play brackets. One by one, Roger took down the top senior amateurs in the country to claim the victory. Roger also played in the British Senior Am where he competed against the best in the world at Royal Dornoch in Scotland and placed 21st! To receive a spot in the field and compete against the best in the world is a tremendous honor and we are so proud of his amazing finish! NEW COURSE RECORD ~ EVAN BECK

Goodbye 60, hello 59! Congratulations to Evan Beck who, through the thunder and rain, shot 59 and set the new course record! Princess Anne is excited to welcome back the Evie Odom Invitational which, hosted by the ODU Monarchs, brings 15 collegiate teams from around the country to our course. The field for this year’s event includes: Minnesota, East Carolina University, Charlotte, Indiana, Penn State, Sacramento State, College of Charleston, James Madison University, South Florida, Coastal Carolina, North Florida, Chattanooga, Princeton and Middle Tennessee. The event will be held September 29th through October 2nd. It takes many hands to execute an event of this magnitude, anyone interested in volunteering can contact Alice Striffler at 757-478-8130. PACC PRO-AM INVITATIONAL TO BENEFIT ELS FOR AUTISM For the sixth consecutive year, the Princess Anne will host the PACC Pro-Am Invitational to benefit Els for Autism on Sunday, October 16th and Monday, October 17th. Our honorary Club Member Ernie Els will return with a handful of Tour Champion Players to compete for the Pro-Am title and more importantly raise awareness for autism. This event has raised over one million dollars with charitable donations being made to the Els for Autism Foundation, F.A.C.T. (Families of Autistic Children in Tidewater) VAF (Virginia Autism Foundation) and SEALKIDS. Although foursomes are sold out, there are other opportunities for our Members to enjoy the event and donate to a wonderful cause.

Congratulations to all our winners and a huge thank you to all the players and caddies who made this a special day! Championship Division Winner- Carson Poulos | 13 and Under- Max Bradshaw | 9 and Under- Laura Liebler LADIES' MEMBER-MEMBER The 2022 Leo V. Kernan Ladies' Member-Member is one to remember. We had two amazing days of golf by all of our participants. After day one, Vicki Devine and Marty Field had a one shot lead over their competitors. During the final round, many teams fought hard to catch up to this dynamite duo but, despite many efforts, the Devine/Field team was unstoppable. These ladies shot seven under par during our best ball format, after posting an amazing 16 under par during Tuesday's scramble format. Congratulations to our new Ladies' Member-Member Champions and our other division winners! PARENT-CHILD TOURNAMENT What a fantastic Sunday afternoon that saw 30 parent-child teams competing to take the crown! Congratulations to all of our victorious teams and especially our overall champions, Vicki and Chris Devine. They teamed up to shoot a gross 73 in the difficult modified alternate shot format. Thank you to all who participated in this special event. We hope you all had as much fun as we did! LOUIS H. WINDHOLZ LADIES CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP In the final match of the tournament, both Alice Striffler and Aven Oliver fought hard for the title, but only one could come out victorious. The front nine went back and forth between these fierce competitors. Alice won the first hole, but Aven turned around parred two to get the match back to being tied. Going into number seven, Mrs. Striffler was one up but Ms. Oliver turned it on to win that hole and eight, taking the match back to tied. Alice made a birdie on hole nine to begin the back, one up. Aven quickly replied and won hole 10 to bring the match back to tied. She then went on to win 12 to go one up on Mrs. Striffler. On the very next hole, Mrs. Striffler had an opportunity to get the match to tied with six to play, and she took advantage of it. Alice made a fantastic birdie putt and, from that point on, never took her foot off the gas. She parred the following hole to go one up and sealed the victory with a beautiful par on 17. Alice won two up with one to play. Congratulations to our runner up Aven Oliver and, most of all, the 2022 Louis H. Windholz Ladies' Club Champion Alice Striffler! RICHARD D. COOKE MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP The final round of the tournament teed off with number one seed Michael Hays taking on number two seed Bill McClanan. A back and forth start on holes one and two, then the match was tied heading into hole three where play settled down and both players settled into the match. Mr. McClanan found himself up two after great birdies on holes three and five. Tides turned quickly thereafter as Mr. Hays won three holes in a row to take a one-up lead headed into the back nine. Holes were halved from 10 to 13 where a costly double by Bill gave Mike a two-up lead headed into 15. A good par by Mr. Hays on 15 found himself three up. The match would stay this way as the first 18 concluded. A quick break and the players were back out on the course. Mr. Hays found himself in the left penalty area on hole one. He hit a miraculous shot to just outside where Mr. McClanan's ball lay. Mike then sunk the putt for par. Bill's birdie putt squeaked by the left side as the hole was halved with par. Loose shots by Mr. McClanan the second time around the front nine were costly, as Mr. Hays found himself up six standing on the fifth tee. A good par by Bill stopped the bleeding but the wounds were too much as Mike found himself seven up after 24 holes. A good par on seven followed up with a birdie on eight, Mr. Hays had collected a nine-up lead standing on the 27th hole. A par on the 27th hole gave Mr. Hays a 10 & 9 victory over a formidable opponent in Mr. Bill McClanan. A huge congratulations to Michael Hays on his 10th Richard D. Cooke Men's Club Championship and a big round of applause for our 2022 Runner up Bill McClanan. MEN'S TRIUMVIRATE Congratulations to the Princess Anne team for their victory in the 2022 Men's Triumvirate! The team shot a final cumulative score of 11 under par. They defeated Bayville Golf Club (+2) and Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club (-10). With this win, the team won its eleventh Triumvirate tournament, and brought the trophy back to Princess Anne. With another great summer in the books, it’s time to get back to school, get our bubble up and finish the year with a bang! We have lots of exciting things on the calendar this fall with the main event being the Member-Guest Doubles tournament which will now be in its third year of being held in October as opposed to its previous July date. We have found attendance is much higher in October since we’re not competing with so many July events, not to mention the much cooler temperatures. School-year junior programs and fall USTA league tennis will start in September. Speaking of league tennis, it’s been great to see the increase in USTA participation at PACC this year, with two ladies' 2.5 teams, a ladies' 3.0 team, a men's and a ladies' 3.5 team and a ladies' 4.0 team. That's over 60 players! Out of the six teams, two of them made it to regionals, with one finishing in second place.

PACC Summer Open July 15 & 16 It couldn’t have been a more exciting weekend of high level tennis for the 2022 Summer Open Doubles Tournament benefiting An Achievable Dream. We had six PACC members that got to mix it up with some of the best tennis players we’ve ever seen on our courts. In the end, the $5,000 winners’ check went to Harvard‘s Logan Weber and Wake Forest’s Robert Maciag taking their first title as a doubles team. They beat Liberty’s Sebastian Mermersky and LSU’s Daniel Moreno, who received $2,500 for their troubles, by the score of 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. FROM THE COURTS Welcome Alek Grzegorzewski – Pickleball Professional We are happy to welcome our new Pickleball Pro Alek Grzegorzewski! Alek is 27 years old and originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. Moving to the Hampton Roads area just before high school, he graduated from Peninsula Catholic High School in Newport News, VA. From there, he went to Tidewater Community College where he graduated with an associate's of science degree. He is currently enrolled at Old Dominion University working towards a bachelor's in mechanical engineering. Alek has been teaching pickleball professionally for four years. He's certified in two different teaching organizations, Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) and the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA). Within the IPTPA, he holds a total of three certifications: certified instructor, certified junior pickleball instructor and certified rating specialist. When Alek is not on the court, he likes to work on his golf game or spends time in the kitchen cooking his favorite dishes. Originating from Poland, some of his favorite things to cook are pierogi, anything with kielbasa and sauerkraut, and Sernik, a polish-style cheesecake. Message from Alek: “I am thrilled to be part of the Princess Anne Family as the new pickleball professional and to offer more availability for lessons, clinics, tournaments and all-around gameplay to the Club. John’s Tip of the Month SWING VOLLEY VS. TRADITIONAL VOLLEY FROM THE MID-COURT AREA Both of these shots can be very effective when transitioning from the baseline to the net or just as an opportunistic move forward when you see the ball floating up high over the net. Let’s break them down. The swing volley gets its namesake from the fact that it’s a groundstroke technique but the ball is taken in the air, so a regular semi western forehand grip is used with a full forehand backswing and follow through. The ball should be hit with heavy topspin for control and power and the contact should be somewhere between shoulders and waist. Ideally, you would hit the ball when it is dropping into your strike zone as opposed to hitting it when it’s still rising and your feet would be set. The traditional volley is, of course, hit with the continental grip and, ideally, you would contact the ball at eye level. The footwork is continuous so that you are moving through the shot. Spin should be scarce, so maybe a hint of underspin to get the ball to carry over the net from that far back. Which one is better? The swing volley can be hit with way more power, so it’s a bigger shot. It’s also riskier though because it requires impeccable timing and technique. The traditional volley is much easier to execute even though it lacks the punch of a swing volley but makes up for it in precision and reliability.

More focus on tennis skill-building exercises like handeye coordination and tracking drills. The lesson revolves around the Net Gen Pre Rally Red Ball 1, 2 and 3 curricula using corresponding equipment including 36 ft courts with appropriately sized nets, red balls and 19–23 inch racquets. Activities are fun and imaginative so that learning tennis is relevant and enjoyable to even the youngest players.

Q: FALL IS A GREAT TIME TO RESET AND RE-CENTER AFTER A BUSY SUMMER AND BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS ARRIVE. WHAT’S ONE THING YOU DO IN THE FALL TO RECOVER AND FIND BALANCE? A: I find that being in nature is a great way to relax and feel more grounded. Walks on the beach, Norfolk Botanical Gardens, Sea Shore state park and Noland Trail are all locally available areas for a quiet, meditative walk. The combination of exercise and being present in nature is good medicine. –Michael Corrie A: Whenever I feel off track, I bring myself back to my routine. Drinking half my body weight in ounces of water every day and my normal eating routine help. Time off and vacations are critical to recover, but my body can only tolerate a few days off my regular routine. My body feels best when I move every day, but that doesn't mean a hard workout! Moving, stretching and mobility are a key factor in my life these days. –Crissy White A: I love to embrace the shorter days of fall and winter as a time to focus on physical recovery and quality sleep. This includes eating earlier in the evening, finding time for leisurely walks with my son and establishing a better sleep routine. For better sleep, I start to wind-down earlier, take Epsom salt baths and keep the lights low or use candles. –Andrea Pettay

LIFESTYLES & FITNESS Welcome Jenny Sessoms – Fitness Instructor My name is Jenny Sessoms (sorry, not related to Will) and I've been teaching group fitness for more than 20 years. When I'm not teaching everything from spin to pilates or yoga, I can be found outdoors running or cycling at sunrise. Outside of the gym, my husband and I enjoy coaching our sons in soccer and football. I love to begin and end my yoga classes with inspirational quotes and positive affirmations. Message from Brian Triolet – Aquatics Director It won’t be long now before we bring an end to pool season at PACC. I hope that all of you have felt like the pool team has lived up to your expectations. If we did not, you should make every effort to let me, the pool team or the Pool Committee Members know where we failed to make this season one of the best for you and your family! I would like to take this opportunity to thank the lifeguard team for their commitment to a safe pool environment throughout the season. Thank you to the leadership of our coaching team. Katie Lorenz and our diving team has enjoyed much success. With their efforts, we were able to host three home meets. Their season culminated in the PACC Diving Invitational. Congratulations to the dive coaches, parents and divers for such a wonderful season. Our swim coaches, Bryan Rudolph, Chris Hakim, Emma Hewitt and Brynn Brazukas also had a wonderful season with 125 swimmers representing the PACC Breakers competing in the Porpoise Division. Though their record didn’t show it, the swimmers had a great season with many personal bests and team records. Our swimmers also competed well at the Divisional meet finishing sixth overall. Thirty of our swimmers qualified for the All-Star Meet. Five of our swimming records were broken this summer by one swimmer Liza Cutchins! She set the records in the 10 & Under 25m Freestyle – 15.05, 50m Freestyle – 32.83, 25m Breaststroke - 19.94, 25m Backstroke – 16.99, and the 25m Butterfly – 15.95. As you will see from our records board in the Breakers breezeway, these records are getting harder to best. Please join me in congratulating our swimmers and coaches for all of their hard work and dedication this season. In closing, I would like to thank all of the families that supported PACC Breakers this season; with special thanks to everyone who volunteered to help with scoring, judging, and timing. I would also like to extend our gratitude to our team sponsors who gave generously to help maintain a high-quality swimming and diving program. Lastly, I would like to thank the Pool Committee for all of their support, advice and tireless efforts supporting all of the activities at the pool this summer. Even though the first day of school is almost upon us, we are still open for adult swimmers throughout September and open weekends for the general membership and their guests. Make a note of the dates and times for September, as they are listed in this publication, and come on out to the pool for some relaxation. Remember, our pool is heated and the warm water might be just the thing to help bring an end to those great days of summer!
