Dr Sankar , Since starting his career has

worked in several business sectors, including FMCG, retail, finance, travel, and manufacturing. His significant contributions include working

manufacturing companies. Dr Sankar's global experience has provided him with an appreciation for the value of diversity of thoughts and opinions, which he brings to stand externally as a Business of Data Global Advisory Board Member. His commitment to nurturing a culture of diversity was well recognized and rewarded with several awards.

When he was working on his first open-source project, he was the youngest in the team of more than 50 developers from all over the world. All his hard work, research initiatives, and community involvements are being duly recognized by international awards, featured articles, and invitations to partake as a hackathon judge, panelist, and keynote speaker in premier international conferences.

Initial Challenges

Dr. Sankar knew that probability is an essential part of Data Science. He knew that if a trained module could successfully deliver results greater than 51%, then it was acceptable. However, he also knew that the industry demands perfection, they wanted results that were either 100% accurate or very close to it. Anything less than that was not enough.

Despite all these challenges, Dr Sankar continued to push the limits. O

impressive. He became a champion of data-centric ML, a huge opensource proponent, and a Chief Data Scientist. He also inspired countless young minds to follow in his footsteps and pursue careers in technology

Motivating Creativity and Innovation at Work

Dr. Sankar has seen a fundamental difference between the present and earlier generations using technology-based gadgets. While the earlier generations were content with obeying orders, the present generation has a different attitude. Those who know how to operate a gadget feel superior to those who can not. Many believe using a gadget confers new knowledge, even though it is not always true. Dr Sankar understands t h a t w h e n s

understand previous knowledge's shortfalls.

In his capacity at APP, Dr Sankar has been deploying remotely piloted drones to capture images of plantation areas. These images are then fed into a deep neural network that has been trained to determine the condition of plantation crops based on various factors. The algorithm can identify factors that contribute to flood risk or send alerts when tree disease is suspected. Although these inferences are not perfect and require additional confirmation and intervention from ground teams, drone-aided monitoring enables APP to direct resources towards the most probable problem areas, resulting in significantly improved efficiency and response times.

Dr Sankar also knows the importance of listening to people and their ideas. He believes that by listening, people can air their thoughts freely, even if others don't agree with them. Listening creates an environment where people can express their ideas without fearing ridicule. This attitude has helped Dr. Sankar motivate, innovate, and maintain a healthy environment in his work.

Rapidly Changing Industry

an experienced business leader, Dr Sankar knows that the business landscape is changing quickly, and no company can afford to rest on its laurels. With increasing human lifespan

Ÿ Ensuring the spending visibility

Ÿ Investing in technology and innovation

Ÿ Upskilling existing employees

Ÿ Facilitating interpersonal relationships

Ÿ Introducing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives

Ÿ Adapting to the future of work

The Future

In the next few years, Dr Sankar aspires to achieve better business growth and optimize the technology stack toward business acumen. He looks forward to deepening the right skills for the competitive world and taking his knowledge base to the next level to contribute even more. Dr Sankar also sees himself enhancing his leadership and management skills, developing as a mentor, and putting himself in a position to lead a growing team.

The Shining Star

Vidarte Pablo

Creating a BIOTECH WORLD

Established by Pablo Vidarte, Bioo is a biotech company focused on the biotechnological transformation of our beloved planet through unique proprietary technologies that can generate electricity from nature.

The organization's founder, CEO, and Managing Director, Pablo, is also an inventor, writer, and entrepreneur. With his transhumanist way of thinking, Pablo wants to revive the natural world we have left behind in line with technology and progress. He created his first computer program at the age of 10, published his first book at 14, and at the age of 16, he created his first software company. Later he created a hardware company about geolocalizers, which he sold, and then he finally founded Bioo.

He also worked on creating external combustion engines, thus improving a system NASA left back in 2002. He was also invited to the Singularity University's first summit done by NASA and Google in Europe.

While studying engineering in Barcelona, Pablo started his career leading the engineering in geolocation hardware, evolutionary AI software, and systems for organic hydrogen generation in rivers for clean fuel applications. Later at the age of 19, Pablo left the university. His areas of expertise include engineering, electronics, and business administration.

Pablo's creations in Bioo include biological batteries plugged into the ground to generate electricity naturally throughmicroorganisms in the subsoil nourished by organic matter and other developments like using living plants as biological batteries. Over the years, Pablo has received more than 20 globally renowned

awards. He was also included in the Forbes Under 30 Europe list at 20. Since its inception, he has led Bioo to win prestigious awards, including the most innovative company in Europe by the European Parliament, the most disruptive company of the year by Google in South Summit, and a representative in the Universal Expo of Energies of the Future.

Disruptive Products

Biological batteries in controlled environments have been around for ages, but sadly we can't use them in a natural open system as they quickly become contaminated and stops working. However, at Bioo, Pablo and his team's research discovered several mechanisms to ensure long life by creating a perfect environment for the ideal microorganisms. So, instead of incorporating external microorganisms, Bioo attracted those it was most interested in and that already existed in the soil, naturally.

Pablo states, "If humans first used fossil energy and then sought out renewables to prevent the world from getting worse with renewables, we were now looking for a way to recover it. Bioo represents that next step: we wanted to be part of the next biotech revolution by generating natural energy, without harming it but rather incentivizing it."

With a passion for bringing together nature and technology via innovative solutions that improve quality of life, Bioo has developed two technologies and three different commercial lines;

Technologies:

Generating Energy from Nature: Bioo takes advantage of the organic substances in natural soils and decomposes them with microorganisms, which it uses to create free electrons and generate an electric current. These batteries can absorb at least ●

The next technological revolution will be the biotech evolution. Our generation no longer just wants to prevent the world from worsening, but to revive it. And that’s what we do at Bioo.

334,4g/m2 of CO2, reduce up to 50% of all irrigation costs, and up to 4 degrees in temperature while generating energy. Bioo uses the generated energy to power light points in parks, gardens, and green roofs.

Using Plants as Biological Switches: Bioo is harnessing the antenna effect of the plants to turn them into biological switches naturally without damaging them. This way, Bioo can activate lights, sounds, and screens and create automation out of a symbiosis of nature and the human being.

Commercial Lines

Urban Spaces: Under Pablo's leadership, Bioo transform spaces by creating the first biotech buildings in the world, as well as parks, streets, and more. It does this by providing biological batteries in the shape of panels named Bioo panels to transform green spaces, avoiding costs in irrigation and maintenance, reducing CO2 emissions, and generating energy to power light points. The best part is these panels are hidden below the ground while preserving the natural ecosystem on top unaltered. No living being gets damaged during the process.

Lifestyle: Bioo creates daily life products to transform personal homes and offices, like Bioo Lux, a lamp and a plant pot made from translucent ceramic and using its biological switch technology to turn on the light.

Agriculture: Bioo is working to develop biological batteries that can power autonomous systems in agriculture, with sensors to optimize irrigation, and with the vision of activating many other solutions in the ag-tech industry directly from the same soil farmers are already taking care of.

Tackling the Pandemic

The pandemic has only been a struggle for Bioo from a commercial standpoint. "We have a line on the market dedicated to transforming urban spaces, and suddenly they 'got closed.' We progressed extensively with the agricultural line and developed new solutions for our interior environments.

The whole team already had a lot of flexibility regarding home-working. Still, it dramatically had to evolve to absolute flexibility, which may sound obvious for most companies. Still, when you have labs with living things in them (plants and microorganisms), things get tricky."- stated Pablo.

Overall, the entire team worked hard and made many changes to overcome the hard time financially and structurally. Eventually, with better than expected results, it made Bioo efficient than ever.

Transforming the World

Bioo believes social responsibility is a crucial pillar for every company. For example, it not only aims to transform cities and make them greener and more innovative, but it also wants to see that in every single person working with it. So, whenever, Bioo hires someone, it pays planet insurance along with the standard medical insurance. Everyone at Bioo calls it the 69 trees policy, which means the company will fully plant 69 trees for every employee to compensate 100% of the individual's footprint.

"We need other companies and even countries on a public level to replicate this same model, not as a sustainable claim but actually as something that creates a change. Imagine if this same insurance was given to every newborn child on Earth as we have social security in Europe. CSR is a great way to give an example, but we all need to push it, and there are many other ways to achieve it. We always say in Bioo that innovation doesn't need to be a special department but has to be an intrinsic part in every single area, either in the research department, operations, sales or HR."- States Pablo.

The Future

Bioo aims to expand in the world's leading cities, covering parks, gardens, and transforming ordinary buildings into the first biotech buildings on the planet. It is eying to cover thousands of light-points per city powered by mother nature herself and also to incorporate its biological batteries in agriculture

as a standard solution instead of the present-day chemical batteries provided by most distributors.

Bioo has the goal of reducing up to 1% of the total CO2 emissions predicted by 2050, being an 80% by the impact from agriculture (involving a 20% of the IoT ag-tech sector) and a 20% from urban spaces (by covering an area equivalent to the 10 main metropolitan areas of the world). Pablo says, "It's achievable, but of course, it will take time and resources, but we have the tools to achieve it."

Michael W. Cardamone

Representing Injured Workers Under the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Law

Meet Michael W. Cardamone, the founder, and CEO of Cardamone Law, a rare boutique firm dedicating 100% of its practice to the strong representation of injured workers under the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act. Currently, the law firm is spread across Pennsylvania, from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, and it has two attorneys and one ‘of counsel’ lawyer to serve clients effectively.

A graduate of Villanova University School of Law in 1999, Attorney Cardamone is a Certified Specialist in Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation- a designation earned by approximately 10% of the practicing Workers’ Compensation Lawyers in Pennsylvania.

Over the years, Attorney Cardamone has been recognized by the Best Attorneys of America, Super Lawyers, Top 100 in Pennsylvania, Lawdragon, and has a perfect 10 on 10 rating on Avvo.

Attorney Cardamone’s father was a well-known attorney in Montgomery and Buck Counties during the 1970s-90s. While growing up, Attorney Cardamone would listen to the fascinating stories at the dinner table, which eventually encouraged him to pursue law. Later in 1999, he got a job in a small but excellent law firm in the suburbs of Philadelphia, which introduced him to Workers’ Compensation Law. Since then, he has always handled Workers’ Compensation cases, and once he started to garner many of his own clients from 2012-2013, he decided to go on his own.

“For many years, I always put my head down and did my work- learning the nuances of Workers’ Compensation Law and absorbing as much as possible inside the courtroom. Then, perhaps 10 years ago or so, I started to get more involved with speaking, teaching, writing, etc.” - asserts Attorney Cardamone.

Eventually, just a few years ago, he landed a prominent role on a radio show as the Pennsylvania Work Comp Expert Attorney to help educate the population about the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Law. Later in 2022, he was selected as the Co-Chair of the Montgomery County Bar Association, Workers' Compensation Committee, where he is still currently serving in this leadership role.

Changing Lives

“I love many aspects of the job- especially winning! There is nothing better than making that phone call to a client who has suffered physically, emotionally, and financially to alert them to the fact that we won and that they will have money coming to pay their bills.” - asserts Attorney Cardamone.

He enjoys the strategy involved in determining how to try a case, who will be the potential witnesses, what kind of documentary evidence will be needed, etc. Attorney Cardamone also loves the marketing aspects; he feels that realm is wide open and endless with possibilities vs. the legal side of things, which has a tendency to box you into particular forms, ways or behaviors. In fact, he recently branded “Always Call Cards!®”- he was

nicknamed “Cards” while in high school by a math teacher at Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia, and the nickname stuck. His firm also boasts a trademark, “Comp? Cardamone!®” which highlights the fact that the firm exclusively handles Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation cases.

One of the main USPs of Cardamone Law is the level of care it provides for its clients. “I’ve heard countless clients over 23 years tell me that I listened to them, that I cared, and that I put so much effort into their cases. Too many lawyers become robotic and emotionless. I take my cases personally- which isn’t always good for one’s health, but it’s the way I’m wired. I do whatever I can, within the ethical rules, to win.”- says Attorney Cardamone.

Suggestions for Young Lawyers

Attorney Cardamone says, “The key advice I would give to a lawyer or a business person is, to be honest at all costs. Honesty is the root of everything else and so fundamental. The people that I see fail the most often tend to struggle with being honest and genuine. Be yourself- and embrace who you are and what makes you different. Be bold, but always stay ethical and

Honesty and Passion should govern what you do. If either is missing, you won’t hit your goals. “ “

honest- and always read and re-read the rules of ethics that govern your practice- or business.”

He also suggests young entrepreneurs to go at their own pace. “Do what feels right for you and your lifestyle. It’s great to speak to others about their experiences, but ultimately you have to call the shots. Don’t be guided by fear. If things don’t work out, you can always go back to what you were doing before.”- he added.

Picture of the Future

As the owner and founder of Cardamone Law, Attorney Cardamone never wanted to make the firm a big organization. Instead, he likes the law firm’s boutique size and the quality of work, which gives it an edge over other law firms. He says, “we are quite busy, and it’s not a long shot to add another lawyer in the near future. I want to keep the firm at 5 lawyers or fewer in the long term.”

LISTEN, LEARN and LOVE By

Ienjoyed a recent television interview of Cynt Marshall. Cynt as she prefers to be called, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Dallas Mavericks. Called by Mark Cuban back in 2018 she left her long held role at AT&T to become the first black woman to lead an NBA team. Her story was beautifully captured by her interviewer as he canvassed her new autobiography, "You've Been Chosen: Thriving Through the Unexpected”. I love that she was a woman of faith and proudly so. Knowing I can always learn from a leader such as herself, I took time way from my own family to really take it in. I even had to pause a few times and circle back. Trust me, it’s the life of the mother I now am.

I walked away with something she shared succinctly. There are three L’s in Leadership. She declared they are to listen, to learn and to love.

Days later now I reflect and ponder in what ways do I feel I live the three L’s as the leader at the helm of HRBoost, LLC. I truly believe leadership lives at all levels in my business and among my team. Like Cynt, I feel blessed not lucky.

In today’s talent turbulence, I like to think I practice what I preach within my business as much as WE deliver such practices to our diverse portfolio of clients in Chicago. When I meet a new Booster, I tell them the whole story of how HRBoost came to be and if they want the story on how I came to be me, that too is gifted to them. I listen for

the three things that they must do every day to feel joy. I listen for the spark that brings them to life in our field of HR, better known as workplace ministry at HRBoost. I listen for their desired boundaries and point out the important of sharing it with everyone on the team, so their personal lives don’t get sacrificed by our work. Months later, I meet with them again. A meeting we call a “Leadership Success Exchange”. The agenda is to listen and ask how my business serves their life goals, their needs, and even their dreams. Not just at work either, but at home and in life. We employ a wonderful tool provided by Become Unmistakable, called a UMAP. I ask my team to give their voice to our GAPM (Generally Applied People Metrics) anonymous survey 2x a year. I then know that once you become the perceived “boss”, no one is as honest as they once were, as psychological safety is not found in each person. Be it due to me, them or another on the team. Thus, deidentified, I listen and then send a neutral person on my team to seek qualitative findings. I then listen to proposed solutions as culture is not from me but rather a team process that changes, evolves and is proactively nurtured.

By committing to our culture with such rigor, I feel I learn. I find it absolutely breathtaking to witness team shout outs and praise in the form of peer feedback on our Bonusly platform. There, our Shared Core Values (developed by the WE back in 2012) now LIVE and the GIF, emoji, and hashtags delight me as I learn by witnessing so much my Boosters are doing to serve one another and our clients. As my business grows, it has become so much more than me and even yesterday, a new Booster has brainstormed a new revenue stream that they can now bring to HRBoost. Collaboration truly requires taking time to listen and learn. Together, he and I created something new and voila, it went out in a proposal the same day!

Last but certainly not least, love. I love our intellectual playground at work, and I delight that I witness the love of others at work in it. What could be better than loving your work and your co-workers? Whether you are in the same physical space or lack proximity, you are tied to work and likely others who co-create the magic of it all with you. I expect our team to LOVE and to LOVE, one MUST care! As we say in Vistage, give it GAS! That’s right, to be a real leader you have to Give a Sh%$! Without love of self, it’s hard to love another. At HRBoost®, we start with cognitive Assessments so we can see the gifts of the Boosters immediately and then they can see the gifts of their peers in a shared drive. Emotional intelligence only comes to be when two people choose to really see each other and aim to meet in the middle. Yes, at HRBoost we want, in fact it is our Vision, to bring JOY and PURPOSE to PEOPLE through their Work! Because without that commitment to love and self-love of our graces at work, what’s the point?

Thank you Cynt for giving me the lens to really think, how do I Listen, Learn and Love? I think I will keep auditing this measure of leadership with my Boosters!

A Journey started off with Small Observations to Achieving a Breakthrough

Arun Agarwal, Founder of Janitri Innovations, is native to a small town in India. Since his childhood he witnessed many of his family members and neighbors suffer from health problem like diabetes, malaria, jaundice, pneumonia and many more. During his undergraduate study, he realized that technology can solve most of the healthcare related problems and that motivated him to pursue a post-graduation in biomedical engineering. After completing his PG, he started visiting villages in India to explore health related problems. While talking to community, pregnant women, mothers, midwives and doctors, Arun was able to connect the dots with his childhood memories. He realized that maternal & child health is a huge problem in India and many deaths can be prevented by simple affordable innovations. Further, Arun visited 100+ healthcare settings across India to explore problems related to maternal & child healthcare and decided to work on the problems through Janitri Innovations.

Overwhelmed with the Support came from Government

As a firm, Janitri is privileged to receive grant support from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, BIRAC, Government of Karnataka (Startup Karnataka scheme), VILLGRO, Grand Challenges Canada etc. These grants helped the company in product development in pilot. Apart from grants, they won Tie Anthah Prerana, Qualcomm Design Challenge, LES APAC conference, Falling Walls etc.

Rural India has Biggest Healthcare Challenges, also Home for Opportunities

In India, mass lives in rural areas hence major challenges and opportunities exist there. There is a huge potential of affordable healthcare services/technology for the mass population that lives in rural area. Defined

Exceptional Tech-based Innovations in Healthcare

steps need to put forward along with rectified innovations, solutions and services at right time right place. That is inclusive of early screening, diagnostic, monitoring, telemedicine etc. in the areas of cardiac, neuro, maternal and child health etc.

Janitri’s Mantra: Do early, Fail Early and Ameliorate

Janitri Innovations follow the process of “do early, fail early†and innovate on routine basis for their product development, pilot, and internal process etc. That offers room for team members to strive on and think-out-of-the-box hence creativity comes with innovation. The company efforts on testing the product or feature in the hospital (urban and rural) in real time to receive the feedback of the relevant stake holders (nurses, doctors, patient). Based on the feedback, they take quick decision on modification or inclusion or removal of any technology component. Major factor that contribute to the company’s success is their passionate team members which the founder found at early stage made the overall progress.

To Serve Customers Better, Validate their Feedbacks to Real Terms

As an initial step, Janitri provides the best-in-class products, services and maintenance. Their main strategy is, frequent and regular interaction with the customers, so as to get their view/comment/feedback on the overall product. Further, the company validate and implement that in their internal process and try to incorporate that feedback into the product to ensure that customers/users should get what they are looking for. This will help us to build the relation and improve the product.

Striving on Innovative Solutions on Maternal and Newborn Mortality

Janitri Innovations is focusing on maternal and child health problems as maternal mortality and newborn mortality is still a major concern across the world. They believe that more than 80% of these problems can be solved by simple innovations in a sustainable manner. Therefore, the company strive on MCH and envision to expand across the globe with their current product.
