QUiCK, RESPONSiBLE METHODS OF ENHANCiNG BUSiNESS SAFETY

There’s nothing more important than keeping anyone who attends your business safe. That might be staff arriving for a full day of honest work throughout the week, it could mean the general public coming to buy products, or it may be clients and investors coming for top-shelf meetings now and again.

If you have any kind of physical premises, it’s important to curate it for safety and security. In fact, we would even suggest (and most business leaders would, too), that the safety of any individual is much more important than the success of your firm. A could-have-been-foreseen mistake that causes individual harm is inexcusable, no matter how unlikely.

Odds are, you believe the same thing. But finding quick and responsible methods of enhancing business safety is not always obvious. You may feel confused regarding where to begin.

Never fear, for in this post we hope to discuss three additional implementations you can make for full success. Without further ado, please consider:

Better, More Reliable Lighting

Solid lighting is pretty much a must for safety, especially those parking areas at night or exteriors that your previous setup doesn’t cover. Dim lighting just opens the door for accidents to happen or even criminal activity on the property – scenarios we assume you’d like to avoid. Getting better lighting installed by companies like Raytek Lighting will boost visibility and make criminals or wrongdoers think twice about causing trouble around the perimeter of your premises.

Signage, Warnings, Safety Barriers

You can’t just leave potential hazards unlabeled. Clear signs, warning labels, those bright safety barriers – they all need be placed properly to mark off the risky zones. Any restricted areas need physical barriers to block access and avoid liability if someone blunders in and gets injured. Unfortunately, this can happen more often than you think, especially if your business is located in a relatively busy environment. As rude as it can be to say, it’s important to assume that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and that any member of the public will make a poor decision sooner or later. Making safety foolproof with clear instruction is key.

Quick Morning Briefings

A quick 5-minute huddle at the start of each workday can go a long way – be that in the office or in the remote call or Slack chat group. A good email is a classic safety tool as well. Any safety issues or incidents from recently can be brought up here, and you can warn staff against certain activities. For example, maybe there’s a fire drill today. Perhaps you suffered a theft. Maybe you’re adding ID cards and need to tell them what to expect. Sometimes, reminders of best practices keep everyone’s mind on maintaining a secure environment, especially if it’s been a little while. New protocols or updates can be clearly laid out too during these stand-ups. This way, you won’t just dump new practice on staff while they’re trying to figure out their workday.

With this advice, you’re certain to enhance business safety in the best way.

HOW YOUR BUSINESS CAN TAKE CONTROL AFTER A PR DISASTER

I

f you look at the news, even if you were to scroll on social media (especially Twitter) for about a minute, you’re going to find at least one company dealing with a PR disaster. Now, you’re probably thinking that this will never happen to you- it only happens to mega corporations or small business owners who are just flat-out unprofessional. Well, it can happen to any business owner of any scale, regardless of industry. Honestly, it doesn’t take too much for a PR disaster to outright happen.

Nowadays, so many things can cause a PR disaster, like a social media firestorm, a product recall, or even a public scandal. It happens to the best of us, but the good news is that with the right approach, you can turn this crisis into an opportunity to strengthen your brand and rebuild trust with your audience. PR and marketing go hand in hand, and tools like AgilePR and even a fantastic publicist can get your business back on its feet as if nothing even happened in the first place.

Just about every single business out there can do damage control and fix what happened, but very rarely does a business need to die because of a PR disaster. There’s been plenty of horrible things that businesses have done; just take a look at some of the massive corporations out there, even some of those celebrity-owned businesses. They’re all doing just fine, and they’ve all been hit with massive scandals. So if they can get themselves out, so can you.

Hopefully, you’ll never have to deal with a PR disaster or even try to build up brand awareness after falling, but if it were to happen to you, here’s how you can take control and fix the massive mess!

Own Up to Your Mistakes

One fatal mistake so many people make is not owning up to their mistake; they’re pointing it to someone else, they’ll act entitled, do the whole “so what,” or even just ignore everyone and act like nothing is happening. None of these work in the slightest! So, with that said, the first step in handling a PR disaster is to take responsibility for any mistakes or shortcomings on your part.

Seriously, you’re going to have to avoid making excuses or shifting blame—instead, acknowledge the issue publicly and express genuine remorse for any harm or inconvenience caused. When you’re owning up to your mistakes, you demonstrate transparency and integrity, which can go a long way toward rebuilding trust with your audience.

Plus, you’re an adult, and you know better. Your customers (and audience in general) know that you know better. If you don’t own up to any of these, you’re going to look really bad, unprofessional, and even immature.

Apologies Don’t Fix It

Saying sorry will almost never be enough, ever. Sure, it’s true that you still need to apologize, as apologies are important; they’re only the first step in the recovery process. It will never be enough, so that’s why you need to take concrete actions to address the root cause of the PR disaster and prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.

It can come in different ways, depending on the situation itself, so this might involve implementing new policies or procedures, offering compensation or refunds to affected customers, or launching initiatives to rebuild trust and goodwill within your community. These are just examples, but understand that sorry isn’t going to solve the problem you or your business created.

Focus on Rebuilding Trust

You had people who trusted you and your brand, and thanks to this PR disaster, the trust has crumbled. So you have to understand that, just like personal relationships, rebuilding trust takes time, but it’s worth the effort. As long as you’re genuine, stay consistent in your messaging and actions, and demonstrate through your words and deeds that you’re committed to regaining the trust of your audience,

So, this is going to be really slow; it will take some time. However, showcasing your company’s values, integrity, and commitment to excellence can help reassure stakeholders that you’re taking the necessary steps to move forward from the PR disaster.

Learn and Grow from this Experience

While disasters are never ideal, you can try to see a bit of a silver lining. In a way, they’re a learning experience, and you can grow from this. So, just try to take the time to reflect on the lessons learned from the PR disaster and use them to strengthen your business processes, communication strategies, and crisis management plans. Hopefully, what happened to you will never happen again, but after this event, chances are, it won’t be because of this learning lesson!

HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE YOUR BUSINESS REPUTATION WITHOUT COSTING YOURSELF A FORTUNE?

Improving your business reputation should be high up on your list of things to do as a business owner, and if it’s not then you need to sort out your priorities. Business reputation is half the battle when it comes to bringing new people to your business, and keeping the clients that you already have, so it’s an important area to focus on. The good news is that if you are struggling with this then you’re in the right place. In this article, we’re going to be taking a look at some of your options, so keep reading if you would like to find out more.

Make Use Of Social Media

The first thing that we’re going to suggest is that you start making use of social media if you are not already. We know that a lot of businesses already know about this little trick, but for the ones who don’t, social media is a fantastic tool. Not only is it free to use which is incredible for your business, but it also gives you a platform to speak to more people than you would ever manage to encounter without it. This means that you will be able to reach new people, people that would never have known about your business otherwise,

Start A Podcast

The next thing that we’re going to mention is that you should be considering starting a podcast. While this is not a common thing for businesses to do, that doesn’t mean that it’s not a fantastic idea. More people are listening to podcasts than ever, especially if it’s on a topic that is of interest to them. Make sure that it’s relevant, that you have all of the right equipment, and that you are using software and tech that is capable of solving audio for business so that it’s crystal clear.

Focus On Your Reviews

The final thing that we are going to say is that you should focus on your reviews as much as you can. We know that it might not seem important, but we can assure you that it is. The more reviews that you have, the more your business will shine in the SERPs. Of course, you need to be looking and responding to both positive and negative reviews, appreciating the positive and doing what you can to mitigate the damage of the negative. For example, you should be replying something like ‘thank you for sharing your experience, we’re sorry that you have had issues with our business, please get in touch with us so that we can assist you further’ or something along those lines.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the ways that you can improve your business reputation without costing yourself a small fortune. Businesses spend so much money on areas like this with little to no success, but all it takes is focusing your efforts into places like the ones we have discussed, as those are the ones that are really going to make a difference.
