All information printed in the catalog is known to be true and accurate as provided by the Canadian Angus Associations. Please note that EPDs may have changed by the time the registration paper is transferred.

All bulls sell under the Standard Breeders Guarantee and Guidelines recommended by the Canadian Angus Association. Copies are available upon request.

BOARD ON SALE BULLS

We can keep the bulls until delivery. We would like all bulls picked up or delivered by May 1 unless previous arrangements have been made. These bulls must be insured.

BULL BREEDING GUARANTEE

All bulls will be semen tested and veterinary inspected prior to the sale.

US BUYERS

US buyers can take advantage of the Canadian dollar. $1000 CA = Approx. $730 US. Sale exchange rate will be announced on sale day.

RIGHT TO SEMEN

Riverstone Cattle Co. reserves the right to draw semen on any of the bulls in the offering. Semen will be used for in herd use only and will be drawn at the expense of Riverstone Cattle and at the convenience of the buyer.

Welcome

I would like to welcome you to our Annual Riverstone Bull Sale. I said last year in my opening letter that this is a exciting and unprecedented time to be in the cattle industry, well.. I wasn’t wrong, the cattle market just kept getting better throughout the year and continues to increase the value of our hard earned endeavors. I have always been proud to be part of this western heritage and raising the cattle I love, but these days it seems people (outside of our business) actually are looking up to us more than ever. I know there are those complaining about the price of beef in the grocery stores but once you explain the cost increase of everything else in this world over the last 20, 30, 40 years it actually sinks in for the consumers and they appreciate what we do.

Once again we are selling our bulls through the online format via DLMS FarmGate. This will be our 6th year holding the sale online rather than a “in person” sale. As most of you know we do not have a facility large enough to host it on the farm, so instead of hauling the bulls into town (which we used to do) we have stuck with our on farm presentation. The bulls you see are in their natural environment and they are what they are when you see them here. Even though we are a strictly online sale we encourage you to please stop by and walk through the bull ben and have a look at this year’s bulls. Just give us a call when your can make the trip. The coffee is always on and the beer is always cold.

In this years offering, as always have a selection of cow bulls and calving ease heifer specialists. We AI the cows to some of the breed leading sires that we feel compliment our herd. We start with Riverstone Vegas, the 2022 Reserve Champion Bull at the National Western in Denver. He was purchased from our bull sale in 2021 by Six Mile Angus and has since been gracing the pastures of the famous Griswold program in Oklahoma. His stamp on the Angus industry is really starting to make a impact and we couldn’t be prouder! We have several prospects out of Schelbien Top Gun. He was a new sire for us last year and did not disappoint. We are one of the original ranches that bought into Brooking Emerald. As you’ve seen through the years he has been a staple in our herd sire AI pen. This year we have the biggest offering of Riverstone White House. He is a President son that we just love. He is our major herd sire here at Riverstone and will continue to be moving forward.

On the heifer bull sale we have our Riverstone Splash sire that we raised and sold to Lake Road Angus in our past bull sale. Also new to the calving ease pen is Coleman Below Zero. We have a couple of his sons that will do the trick.

Unfortunately, recently we have had a issue with our chute scale and you will notice that we do not have updated weights on the bulls listed in the catalogue. However, we will be sure to have them done and posted on a supplement sheet prior to the sale. We apologize for the inconvience.

Once again the bulls have been raised on a complete feed pellet from Bullseye Feeds in conjunction with our own high protein hay and silage. Bulls are weaned in September and put back out on grass for a month or so and then started on feed. We feel by doing this it adds to the longevity and production of the bulls while maintaining body condition that is ready for breeding season.

Riverstone Vegas 49H sold in our 2021 Bull Sale. Since then he has been crowned the 2023 Reserve Champion Angus Bull and has also sired BOTH the Grand and Reserve Angus Bulls at the 2026 National Western Stock Show.

SIRE OF LOTS 1-3

Riverstone Vegas has definitely made a name for himself in the past year. Vegas has the high seller in our 2021 bull sale and was purchased by Six Mile Ranch. This bull has since made a massive impact south of the border and is now being used and in part ownership with some of the best breeders in the business. His outcross pedigree makes him unique to most of the popular genetics in the Angus breed.

SIRE OF LOTS 8-10

Splash was the high selling bull in our 2023 Bull Sale. He was definitely a crowd favorite in the pen that year. We loved the bull so much we drew semen on him before he sold to Lakeroad Angus from Worsley, AB. He is a bull that we used on both heifers and cows.

SIRE OF LOTS 4-7

Schiefelbein Top Gun is a bull that does it all. With a moderate birth weight, elite growth, outstanding carcass, high maternal, and incredible look.

SIRE OF LOTS 11 &12

Prolific is an exciting power bull enriched with a tremendous maternal heritage. He ranks near the top of the Angus population for $Maternal and his dam is the embodiment of a power cow. Possessing flawless foot shape and extra heel depth, Prolific stands on substantial bone with loads of muscle and depth of body. His dam has a perfect udder, superior foot quality, exceptional depth, and a broody presence.

Coleman Below Zero 2106 was the $150,000 top-selling bull of the 2023 Coleman Angus bull sale. A sure shot heifer bull with exceptional phenotype, exceptional depth of body, and represents great breed character in a well-balanced number package. Coleman Below Zero

SIRE OF LOTS 20-22

Equity was the senior herdsire at Riverstone until we lost him last fall. He was a powerhouse bull that was a outcross for us being a son of SAV Best Interest. His dam was one of those good solid cows with high maternal traits and never missed. He had it all... power and performance combined with amazing maternal traits.

SIRE OF LOT 25 - 35

Riverstone White House is a SAV President son who is the senior herd sire at Riverstone. Although he throws a little higher birthweight they come unassisted with a extremely long body and smooth shoulders. This is the largerst offering of his offspring for sale to date. His dam is a beautiful Banknote daughter who is very docile.

SIRE OF LOTS 15-19

When Brooking Emerald sold in the Rose Bowl sale, we at Riverstone, were one of the group of breeders to purchase his rights that sold for $94,000 that day. He is muscular, masculine, deep ribbed, with an abundance of shape in his hip. He is excellent footed with an even balance of weight distribution from his front to back and sound moving. Brooking lost this bull last year so his progeny will become more valuable and limited.

LFE Best Answer 800H is a highly regarded Angus bull known for combining elite calving ease with added body mass, power, and vigor in his offspring. Born to a top Lewis Farms Chinook female and S A V Final Answer 0035, he is recognized for his progeny's rapid growth and sound, attractive phenotype.

Journeyman is a Grazer son that we used on our first and second calvers. He is a calving ease specialist throwing light birth weight calves. We love the structure on this bull and he has an excellent set of feet and legs.

1. Visit www.dlms.ca , scroll down sale list to find the sale you are interested in bidding on. Click on the sale listing and you will be taken to the FarmGate Timed Auction Sale page.

2. After you are at the FarmGate Timed auction site - farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time FarmGate users:

- First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to sign up for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. (please note due to some of the text notification features the FarmGate Time Auction Site requires a new account separate account from your DLMS Live sale site)

- After you create your FarmGate account you will receive a text message with a pin code to verify your account.

- On your first log in to FarmGate Timed auctions we recommend you go to your profile and confirm your notifications are set to YES. This allows the site to send you text and/or email notifications when you are out bid and if there is activity on your favorite lots.

Returning FarmGate users:

- If you have used Farm Gate Timed auctions in the past simply enter your user name and password to continue. After you have logged in you are able to browse the timed auctions on DLMS FarmGate Timed Auctions.

3. How to Bid

Now that you are logged in and your account phone number / email is verified you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.

- Place Next Bid – to place the next bid on the item, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.

- Max Bid Amount – to place a max bid you put your max bid in the second box listed as “Max Bid” on the item, and then click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the max amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidential from the seller during the sale process.

Example of How the Max Bid Works - If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot competing against each other.

4.. Watch List Feature

If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch with out having to scroll through the entire list you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button, by clicking this “watchlist” Icon that item is added to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of just your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.

5. Sale Ending / Closeout

Most FarmGate Timed Auction sales close racehorse style with extended bidding.

What is Racehorse Style Close?

Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

How will Extended Bidding works?

When we get to the close out end time the clock for close out extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

6. Bidding Close & Follow-up

After the clock has gone to “ENDED” and no bidding has occurred for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot. Or as the winning bidder you can contact the sale consignor / sale manager to confirm payment instructions.

Please make sure that your account info is up-to-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this is how the billing is sent to Sale manager and/or Sale consignor.
