I would like to welcome you to the 2019 Riverstone Bull Sale. As I sit here and write my letter I glanced at what I said last year and I see that I wrote that the weather challenged all of us with the extreme cold in the early going, well once again, mother nature continues to throw curve balls at us again this year. Many of my non-cattle friends complained about how hard it is, but we as cattle producers, grain farmers and generally any one in the agriculture sector know how really hard it is. We may complain a bit but... we push on no matter what! I’m not trying to sound negative, quite the contrary, I applaud everyone in this business. It is a never quit industry and we wouldn’t change a thing.
As for this years offering you can see that we are continuing to pursue the best breeding AI sires in the business along with using our best home raised herdsires. I am always excited about producing great cattle. We have many parental brothers on the Angus, Limousin and Simmental sectors. We feel that we have selected the right mix of AI and herdsires to go out and produce the “right kind” of cattle that will benefit all of us in the industry.
Once again we have spring yearlings for the Angus, Limousin and Simmental groups, along with Angus extra age yearling bulls. The spring calves were born in January, February and March and the long yearlings generally calve in September and October. The fall calves are weaned in May and put back on grass. They are brought back in to be put on feed in September when the spring calves are weaned. This is strictly a management decision that allows us to utilize our pen space properly while still offering over age bulls. The bulls are fed a free choice pelleted ration from Masterfeeds along with our home raised silage.
We are once again hosting our sale at the Olds Regional Exhibition Cow Palace in Olds and we hope you can join us on sale day. Right to Semen
Riverstone Cattle Co. reserves the right to draw semen on any of the bulls in the offering. Semen will be used for in herd use only and will be drawn at the expense of Riverstone Cattle and at the convenience of the buyer.
DNA Testing
Individual DNA test results are not available for the homozygous traits. The homozygous status that is printed in the catalog were acquired by parentage verification. Animals in this offering may possess the homozygous black and/or polled genes.
EPDs Information
All information printed in the catalog is known to be true and accurate as provided by the Canadian Limousin & Angus Associations. Please note that EPDs may have changed by the time the registration paper is transferred.
Terms & Conditions
All bulls sell under the Standard Breeders Guarantee and Guidelines recommended by the individual breed associations. Copies are available upon request.
Board on Sale Bulls
We can keep the bulls until delivery. We would like all bulls picked up or delivered by May 1 unless previous arrangements have been made. These bulls must be insured. Pick-Up on sale day would be greatly appreciated.

We used PVF Insight to provide stylish powerful bulls. We can not believe the performance on the Lot 8 bull. He had an actual Sep. 5 weaning weight of 875 lbs and is gaining 5.49 lbs. per day! These Insight bulls have outstanding length and power.
