Thank you to all of our customers for their support over the past twelve years. A special thank you goes to those individuals who purchased bulls last year even with the disruption created by the COVID pandemic.

We have chosen to go back to a “Live Sale”, but in a different location. It will be a video sale held in our heated shop at the farm located at 2318 TWP Road 314. You will be able to view the bulls there on the day of the sale. As well, you are always welcome to stop by the farm to view them from now until sale day. If you wish to view them prior to the sale, please call me at (403) 870-3960 to arrange a time.

Even though 2021 was not a normal year ... and yes I’m starting to wonder what a normal year is ...there is one thing that hasn’t changed and that is Charolais cross calves are hard to beat. Buyers are certainly still looking for them. This year’s sale will consist of white and tan yearling bulls.

A new sire group added this year is HTA Smackdown 945G. If you are looking for bulls with lots of hair, length and calving ease these would be a good choice.

Everest, Duplicitious and Northern Stars bulls are still on offer and are known for low birthweight and calving ease.

If you are looking for performance Charolais bulls, we have Elder’s Blackjack, CML Notorious, and Reese Lancaster.

FROM DIDSBURY: Go 5 miles west on Highway 582 to Range Road 24, then turn right go 1 mile north to Township Road 314, and then turn right and ¾ of mile east. The shop where the sale will be held is on the north side of the road.

Pre-Sale Viewing: Bulls are available for viewing anytime prior to the sale.

Sale Discounts:

Discount: $100.00 for buyers that pick up their bulls at the farm before March 25th.

Discount: $500.00 for volume buyers of 3 bulls or more.

Delivery:

We will deliver your bulls for free within a 300km radius of Didsbury. If you choose to send your bulls back to the farm they must be insured. After May 1st we will charge $3.00 a day per bull to keep and feed them. We will waiver these charges if you come and pick your bull up at the farm before June 1st.

Breeder Guarantee:

All bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale.

Terms & Conditions

Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at sale location, immediately after the sale, unless satisfactory arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after the settlement is made. All settlements must be made with the clerk of the sale before any cattle will be released. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Bidding: Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. No bybidding will be permitted. In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

Announcements: All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to any such announcements.

Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

Certiﬁcate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made unless stated that there is no paper.

Breeder’s Guarantee: Should any bull fourteen months of age and over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeds, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached the age of fourteen months of age. The seller will then have the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. If multiple bulls are used in common pasture, no further guarantee than the semen test will apply. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold nor for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.

Exception Guarantee: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void.

Settlement: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are for the account of the buyer. No incident expenses such as feed, care, interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal to be a breeder, then said animal will be reclaimed by the buyer at his expense. Should the seller fail to prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. ranch or location of origin. Should a dispute arise over the quality of a replacement animal, the sales manager will appoint a mediator.

Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyers, neither the sales manager, auctioneer or consignors assume responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property.
