We welcome you to the 50th Anniversary Gelbvieh Sale. It is a testament to the breed to be able to maintain and adapt as industry evolves over 50 years. It is only with the determination and fortitude of the past members that have made the change and steered the course and guided the breed forward and we welcome you all here.

This years offering consists of functional and fancy heifer calves from the top breeders in the country. As well we have some select embryos from some sought after donors as well we have the opportunity to go pick your pleasure at one of the breeds finest herds.

Since inception, JSJ Livestock’s focus has been on the maternal traits that make Gelbvieh great. We strive to produce females with the tools to succeed. Square udders, with good attachment, structurally correct legs and feet, and the temperament to stick around for many years. We also do our best to balance performance with calving ease, to ensure our genetics make you money. We have used AI and embryo transplant over the years to help move our herd forward and now we are opening up our herd to let you do the same. JSJ Livestock is offering the right to flush any female in our program. There are several options depending on your needs. We will work closely with you from selection to conception, to ensure the best level of success possible.

Offering one flush, guaranteeing a minimum of three 90-day pregnancies when performed by a licensed embryologist. Selection to be made as soon as possible after purchase if you would like to flush for the 2023 breeding season.

Look for this homozygous polled purebred red sale heifer to soon create her own following! She is supported by a young 2 year old Dam, out of one of our favorite cow families and exhibited here at the 2022 Canadian Western Agribition for the first time. Her sire, our new herd sire OSF Brett Favre 1G, is proving his worth as we are excited to retain this fall, 11 of his daughters!

Moderate at birth in early February, 2022 with an actual weaning weight of 638 lbs. on September 12th, round this young, front pasture kind of female credentials out.

The great ones are always supported by great cow families! Her Dam, a young first calf heifer, was very successfully exhibited last season! Her sire is CK Driller, who we have used extensively on our heifers for many years to sire those calves that are always born easily. With the positive impact of many replacement heifers retained here as replacements, Driller has been a steady producer!

Homozygous black, homozygous polled, purebred heifer, born early in the calving season, this offering is bred to produce the kind we all want. Her actual weaning weight was 702 lbs. on Sept 12, 2022.

This deep, dark red, stout heifer calf is off of our herdsire MGF Hell Ya 91H. Hell Ya is a son of Tank Abbott, the high selling bull calf at Agribition 2017 bought from RPS Gelbvieh. 91H dam goes back to Miss America and Arrow. Pedigree is stacked!!

Lenore’s dam has a strong pedigree too, and has produced phenomenal calves. Including a herdsire for one of our repeat customers, Pleasant Oak Farms.

Lenore was Reserve Heifer Calf at Manitoba Ag-Ex 2022. Take this gal home and the herd will yell “Hell Ya”!

Kelsi is a long sided heifer with loads of potential. She is very good structurally and has plenty of eye appeal and style. Her dam has been a solid producer with a nice udder. The HL Master calves to date have been very impressive. I expect that Kelsi will go on to do great things

HL Duchess 25K is a daughter off our new herdsire TIP Hercules 99H ET. We are very pleased with his calves this year. 25K is no exception. Her dam is a structurally sound female with a picture perfect udder and great disposition. If you are looking for to add a new female line look close at her defined very strong outcross genetics. We look forward to Canadian Western Agribition and celebrating 50 years of Gelbvieh cattle in Canada. This black purebred heifer is definitely worthy for this great celebration.

The first animal to sell from our new herdsire Fir River Hennessey 711H. HL Miss Kelsey 207K has it going on, haircoat beyond compare, excellent neck extension with great capacity and depth of body. This front pasture female will be a great addition to any program. Her epd's are top notch with a moderate birth weight of 80lbs and cherry red. This will truly be one of the exciting females in the future of our breed.

She is mated to SLC Strut, the herdsire of Overby Stock Farms and a former National Champion Bull.
