Each year, as our bull sale gets closer, we anticipate hearing from everyone, whether you are new to our bull sale or are one of our many repeat buyers!
Our 2022 sale bulls have been selected and developed to breed heifers and cows ... paying attention to attributes like eye appeal, hardiness, exceptional heifer replacement potential, yield capacity in their progeny and profitability for their new owners.
Sourcing new genetics for our own bull batteries is always ongoing! It gives us the ability to continually offer you new bloodlines too! Look for the strength of many proven bloodlines, many half-brothers, large sire groups, dependable performance bulls or calving ease bulls. It is an exciting sale offering!
All bulls will be vet inspected and semen tested, prior to the sale.

An outstanding son of our herd bull Navaho, look for DVE Davidson Crowell 175B to always bring home the goods in one eye appealing performance package. Sire of our flourishing herd bull DVE Davidson V.I.P. 86E and more, including replacement females. The Dam of DVE Davidson Crowell 175B, LCS Big Sky Gal 489J has long had a direct impact on our herd genetics. She is the Dam of Davidson Leadtime 89T, DVE Davidson Romance 116W and DVE Davidson UBetcha 174A....all outstanding herd bulls in our own program! She is also the mother of DVE Davidson Ms Mambo 32Y, who we showed very successfully. We sold Crowell in 2020 as he had been injured. Sons on offer ADG 3.32 WDA 3.45
Macon is a proven calving ease bull that Lonesome Dove continues to use for breeding heifers, and year after year, he covers lots of females early. Macon-sired bulls work equally as well on mature cows, and his calves hit the ground running. His sons feature sensible birth weights, and he packages dimension and capacity on a moderate frame. Macon also has a lot of top end females in production and they all have a good foot under them, including DRT Lonesome Champagne 32F who won Reserve Champion Mature Female at 2021 Canadian Western Agribition. The average actual birth weight of his 2022 sale bulls is 79lb, and they posted an average ADG of 2.73lb and average WDA of just under 3lb.

Vernon and Eileen stepped up their game spending $19,000 to add Cobalt to their bull battery in 2016! A son, DVE Davidson A+ 103E won Res. Jr. Champion Bull Calf, at the 2017 Canadian Western Agribition. A Cobalt daughter was selected by Black Cow Farms, Nebraska during the 2018 NWSS for $10,000.US. Sadly we lost Cobalt just after Christmas 2021. His sons on offer averaged ADG 3.26 WDA 3.30
on pasture,we sold Casanova. His calves are all off first calf heifers. His sons on offer averaged ADG 3.21 WDA 3.28
Once again, Eastman sired an impressive number of bulls in the pen, and the 2022 sale is the final opportunity to own one. His bulls feature depth and capacity that remind us of grandsire Jumpstart. We used Eastman on second-calvers again so his progeny are all out of young upand-coming moms. His sons have stretch and growth and are well-tempered. We also have a large, even set of young Eastman females that are promising. His sons had an average actual birth weight of 84lb, and posted gains of

Davidson Gelbvieh and Lonesome Dove Ranch work closely with their veterinarian to maintain proper herd health protocols and up-to-date vaccinations. Our bulls are fed a balanced ration with vitamins and minerals, as developed by our nutritionist, to achieve best health and longevity.
All bulls sell with a valid semen evaluation and are veterinarian-inspected for health and soundness.

These are limited edition genetics available as this year is Julio’s final group of sons after losing him to injury following the 2020 breeding season. Julio offspring are smooth-made, streamlined, and have an attractive head. He had tremendous length of body and he put that length and growth in his sons while maintaining their moderate frames. His daughters are feminine and we are looking forward to them as first-calf heifers in the 2022 calving year. The 2022 sale bulls sired by Julio averaged 85lb at birth, had an actual average weaning weight of 712lb, and an avg ADG of 3.29lb and avg WDA of 3.27lb.

Animals resold following purchase in this sale constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
Announcements – Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over printed material in this catalog. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.
Bidding – Animals will be sold singly or in lots to the highest bidder. Bidding will be carried out in Canadian dollars.
Auctioneer – The auctioneer will settle any disputes as to bids and his decision on such matters will be final.The auctioneer will have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale.
Risk – Cattle are at the buyer’s risk as soon as sold but every precaution will be taken for their welfare.
Terms – The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location. The current rate of exchange as of sale day will apply to purchases made by U.S. buyers. Parties unknown to the sale manager desiring to settle by personal cheque, should bring a letter of identification from their bankers. The right of property shall not pass until after full settlement is made. All settlements must be made with sale clerks before any cattle will be released. Absentee bidders must make arrangements to make a payment by cheque or wire money within 48 hours after the sale.
Delivery – Delivery at cost within the Prairie Provinces or nearest point of entry within the Prairie Provinces as soon as possible after the sale at the seller’s convenience and the buyer’s risk. Special consideration may be given to group purchases. Written instructions must be given at time of settlement. Cattle are the property of the buyer as soon as the auctioneer declares them sold therefore buyers are urged to insure animals for full value.
Papers – Each animal will carry registration papers issued by the Canadian Gelbvieh Association. Prior certificates issued by the Canadian Gelbvieh Association will be furnished in the name of the new owner after full settlement has been made. Every bull purchaser, outside of Canada, has the sole responsibly to investigate home country registration, on desired sale lots, and level of re-registration in home country, prior to purchase.
Breeder's Guarantee – All cattle sold at our sale are veterinary-inspected prior to the sale and are fully insurable on sale day. Each bull sells sale day along with a valid semen test as provided by a licensed Veterinarian. Registration and transfer of each sale lot will be issued by the Canadian Gelbvieh Association in the purchaser’s name, after the sale. We suggest you buy full mortality and fertility insurance on your new bull purchase(s). A fertile bull can lose his ability to settle cattle therefore prudent management of your breeding bulls’ overall health is very important, especially throughout the breeding season. Watch your young bulls breeding activity early in the breeding season and don’t let an older bull intimidate his actions. Our warranties do not cover bull injuries or sickness not apparent sale day or guarantee that bulls will produce semen that will freeze. All cattle sold sale day are the full responsibility of the new owner. Any issues must be reported in writing, within 6 months of sale time to Davidson Gelbvieh and Lonesome Dove Ranch and are to be accompanied by a Veterinarian’s Certificate. ALL CATTLE LEFT FOR DELIVERY MUST BE INSURED. At no time will the breeders Davidson Gelbvieh or Lonesome Dove Ranch be liable for a credit more than the original purchase price. Homozygous black and homozygous polled animals included in this sale are as reported by and reliant upon the results from qualified labs in Canada and the U.S.
