Q-FREE STRIKES A CHORD The ITS industry will be playing all the right tunes when Music City meets Motown this afternoon at 3:30pm. That’s when Q-Free and the Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) will officially celebrate the launch of one of North America’s most ambitious urban mobility partnerships. The in-booth reception is expected to bring together transportation innovation, industry buzz and a distinctly Nashville-style atmosphere. The event marks Q-Free’s landmark agreement with NDOT to deploy the company’s Kinetic Mobility Advanced
Traffic Management System (ATMS) across around 1,000 signalised intersections citywide. Far more than a traditional ATMS upgrade, the project is already being recognised as a benchmark for fully integrated metropolitan traffic operations. Nashville’s new system will bring signals, dynamic signs, video, event management, corridors, roadside assistance, fleet operations and road weather monitoring together on a single platform, all managed through the city’s traffic management centre. It will also connect regional transit agencies and the Nashville Police Department through shared situational awareness tools,
helping improve incident response and coordination across the network. For a city that regularly handles major surges from music tourism, Tennessee Titans games, concerts, university athletics and rapid regional growth, the project marks a major step towards proactive, real-time mobility management.
