a note from your luminary circle team In the face of a whirlwind of challenges and change in recent months, Presbyterian has forged ahead with substantial work. Consider the formidable projects that have broken ground and are currently under way: The new patient tower and parking structure at the downtown hospital The Duane and Barbara Trythall Aquatic Therapy Natatorium at the HealthPlex A second professional office building at Rust Medical Center The Robert Wertheim Hospice House (see pages 10-11) This certainly is an unprecedented, yet very exciting, period. We are appreciative of your patience and understanding amid the continual changes and adaptations that our hospital and medical groups have undergone. In further developments this year, we are pleased to announce that we will resume one of our favorite Foundation events—the annual Donor Appreciation Reception. Combined with this event will be another favorite, our annual Luminary Circle Luncheon—another modification that we are sure you'll enjoy. We eagerly anticipate finally being able to see you soon—in person—at one of our upcoming events this fall.

Evolving Our Urgent Care Options At PMG, we're focused on delivering excellent care to our patients, while ensuring that clinicians and staff thrive in a financially sustainable model. While PMG is seeing significant volume increases in both ambulatory and inpatient settings, we're still seeing lower volumes in urgent care and pediatric settings. Despite the significant decline in overall urgent care use, there are some areas in the Albuquerque metro where these services are in higher demand. To meet the needs of the community and allow for a steady volume of patients for our clinicians to care for, we are making these changes in our urgent care clinics: We will close our PMG Carmel Pediatric Urgent Care and move pediatric urgent care services to the PMG at 5901 Harper Urgent Care. Harper is one of our busiest urgent care clinics today, so this move will allow for greater collaboration and increased volumes for our pediatricians. This will operate in similar fashion to Las Estancias where both all-ages and pediatric urgent care work together. Urgent Care services will no longer be offered at the Paradise Clinic. This repositioning will better align our Pediatric Urgent Care with our Pediatric Primary Care services at Harper, where Pediatric Primary Care is on the same campus and pediatric volumes are consistently high. These changes took place on July 1.

Presbyterian Vaccination Hub a Success This Fourth of July looked and felt a lot different from last year's, thanks to the distribution of COVID19 vaccines. Teams from Process Excellence, Engineering, Maintenance, Real Estate, Information Technology, Marketing, Security, to Nurses and Volunteers, came together and have given us all reason to celebrate. Take a few minutes to see how it all adds up, from clinicians to therapy dogs. The vaccine hub has closed after 16 weeks of helping our community come back better. Here's a snapshot of the numbers that helped add up to more than 73,000 lives protected from COVID-19. Presbyterian will continue to give vaccines at various sites around New Mexico.

Fall 2021 Annual Flu Shot Clinic We are waiting to hear how our medical groups will conduct flu shots this year. Whether it is a flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine combo, and whether it is a drive-thru or walk-in clinic, we expect to have it available this fall. Stay tuned for more details!

PROJECT UPDATES A Special Opportunity to honor or memorialize a loved one As you may remember, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Presbyterian Robert Wertheim Hospice House on March 29. The House is projected to open to patients in late spring of 2022, with 10 beds that will serve hospice patients who can no longer be kept comfortable in their own home. The Foundation has committed to supporting not only the construction of this new facility, but also the ongoing operation costs. We are excited to offer you a special opportunity to secure a personalized tile on the outdoor memorial wall of the Robert Wertheim Hospice House, while supporting the ongoing operations of the House! There are four sizes of tile available, starting at $2,500. The tile can be personalized with your own name, or the name of a loved one. Larger tiles even have space for a short message. All tiles that are paid for in full by December 31, 2021 will be installed during construction, and will be available for viewing at the grand opening. Duane and Barbara Trythall Aquatic Therapy Natatorium

We recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new, warm water pool – the Presbyterian Rehabilitation Services Duane and Barbara Trythall Aquatic Therapy Natatorium. This addition to the Presbyterian Healthplex will be a resource for aquatic rehabilitation, group instruction and open swim. The Presbyterian Trythall Natatorium, projected to open later this year, is funded by a $1.5 million gift from Luminary Circle members Duane and Barbara Trythall to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation and additional support from Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Warm water has proven to be a powerful force for relieving pain and improving mobility issues associated with a wide range of disorders such as arthritis, back pain, joint disorders and other health issues.

The Trythalls are former owners of Excel Staffing, the largest temporary and contract staffing company in New Mexico. Over the years, the company employed more than 60,000 New Mexico residents. The Trythalls sold the business in 2014 after 43 years.
