Learn about dementia
Perhaps you know someone affected by dementia or are the caregiver of someone living with dementia. Dementia is not a specific disease, but an overall term that describes a group of symptoms associated with a decline in memory and thinking skills. Although this diagnosis can be worrisome, we want you to know that you are not alone. Across America alone, millions of individuals and their family members live with the symptoms and conditions of dementia. Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias are progressive and, currently, irreversible brain disorders that slowly destroy memory, thinking skill, and the ability to live independently.
