Thank you to our donors and volunteers Parsons Presbyterian Manor held a donor and volunteer luncheon to honor the people who give of themselves to better the lives of our residents. “It’s important to recognize everyone who contributes to the Presbyterian Manor,” said Sloan Dwyer, Parsons Presbyterian Manor. “Many of the fun activities and events this year were made possible by their time and donations.” From Bingo volunteers to donors who support our mission, we are grateful to all who share our dedication to our residents. In the words of Sloan, they make both the Presbyterian Manor and the world a better place. u

or share their knowledge. She knows her questions will always be met with answers from colleagues. “I know that I can always reach out to my co-workers if I need help, have a question or just want to get some feedback on an idea or situation,” Rachel said. “Everyone will pitch in whenever and wherever needed.” That sense of family is important to Rachel, as she is the mother of three children: Taylor, Dakota and Ava. She and her fiancé Paul sit on the sidelines cheering on the kids’ sports teams and enjoy time together at their favorite fishing hole. “Family is really important to me,” Rachel said. Before joining Presbyterian Manor about eight months ago, Rachel was the executive director at Oswego Home Place. Prior to moving to Parsons, she was a home health manager for 10 years at Nature’s Point Assisted Living in Minnesota.

Jane Parish, the artist who won last year’s People’s Choice award, and whose piece “Louie” was selected for the calendar, poses with her daughter at the Art is Ageless® calendar signing party.

“My passion has always been working with the elderly population,” Rachel said. “It’s an amazing feeling to help someone, and I love making our residents smile and feel safe, comfortable and happy. It’s also rewarding to have residents or family members thank you or give you a hug. Our residents here become part of our family, too. Knowing I can come to work and help people every day, even if it is in a small way, is why I chose to be a nurse.” Rachel is an asset to Parsons Presbyterian Manor, and we’re grateful for her dedicated service. u
