Salina Presbyterian Manor announces Art is Ageless® winners
Meet your new executive director – Melissa Brumbaugh!
Salina Presbyterian Manor recently hosted a reception for the winning artists in the annual Art is Ageless® juried competition. “We are honored to exhibit artwork by seniors,” said Cathy Boos, marketing director. “Art is Ageless is unique in featuring only the works of artists age 65 and older. Our artists prove that art, in any form, is an ageless ambition.” Local competition winners will join winners from 14 other PMMA (Presbyterian Manors of MidAmerica®) senior Judge’s Choice amateur: living communities Jean Hamilton, “365 to be judged at the Challenge” masterpiece level. Winning entries at the masterpiece level are selected for publication in PMMA’s annual Art is Ageless People’s Choice professional: calendar and Glenn Knak, “Could I Have note cards. This Dance”
Best of Show professional: Craig Boyers, “Steampunk Airship #2”
Salina Presbyterian Manor has a sterling reputation and is wellpositioned for the future. So says new executive director Melissa Brumbaugh, who joined the team in March. “The staff and residents have been wonderful,” said Brumbaugh. “Everyone has been very welcoming.”
Best of Show amateur: Loretta Jilka, “Farmers Wife”
Brumbaugh has been in the industry since 2004, though she did have a brief stint with a school district when her kids were younger. As for senior living, what started out as a part-time role in medical records eventually led her to get her administrator’s license. “I was in a similar role at another community and now I’m very excited to be at Salina,” she said. “This community has a wonderful reputation, so we’d like to continue to provide the quality of care that we’re known for.”
People’s Choice amateur: Sharon Root, “Evening Safari”
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our executive director Melissa Brumbaugh! u
