Timetables, including specialist lessons, will be provided by class teachers at the beginning of the year.
*See End of School Day table below for dismissal and pick-up times for each year level.

My name is Mrs Geraldine Drabble, and I am honoured to serve as the Head of Junior School, leading the dedicated Junior School Pastoral and Academic Care team.
Supporting me in this role are the Pastoral and Academic Care Co-ordinators (PACCs), Ms Rose Brades and Ms Aleasha Franetovich, along with our team of highly committed class teachers.
Collaboration is essential to our approach, and the PACCs regularly meet with class teachers and specialist educators to discuss pastoral care matters, plan teaching approaches, and monitor academic progress. Our class teachers have a deep understanding of each student and maintain open communication with the specialist teachers regarding pastoral and academic aspects.
We are eager to work hand in hand with you to support your children in the best possible way. If you have any concerns related to pastoral or academic matters, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s class teacher as your first point of contact. If it happens to be during class time, feel free to leave a message with the Junior School Reception.
We believe that the relationship between home and school is of utmost importance. If any matters arise at home that you believe may impact your child during the day, kindly inform your child’s class teacher. Similarly, our teachers will maintain open lines of communication with parents about any matters that arise at school.
We are excited about the journey ahead and look forward to fostering a strong partnership with you for the wellbeing and academic success of your children.
Warm regards,
Mrs Geraldine Drabble Head of Junior School

If your child will be absent or arriving late, please notify Junior School Reception by 8.35 am via the PLC App using the Absentees tile.
If your child is marked absent and the College has not been notified by 9.30 am, you will receive an SMS asking you to provide a reason for the absence. In some cases, Reception may call instead. This process supports regulatory requirements and, most importantly, your child’s wellbeing.
If your child is unwell, please keep them at home and notify the College if they have a communicable illness. A Medical Certificate is required for illnesses lasting more than three consecutive days.
Students arriving late must be accompanied to Junior School Reception and signed in by a parent or guardian. If your child needs to leave during the school day (for example, for an appointment), they must be signed out at Reception by an adult and signed back in upon return.
Students attending on-campus Music lessons during the day must sign out and back in at Reception when leaving and returning.
Private tuition must take place outside school hours. Students may not miss school to attend additional tuition.
Attendance is compulsory in Western Australia from Pre-Primary onwards. If you plan to take your child out of school during term time, please note that the College does not provide classwork for this period. Extended absences must be communicated in writing to the Head of Junior School via email geraldine.drabble@plc.wa.edu.au
• All persons entering the College during school hours of attendance must enter at Junior School Reception.
• Parents and visitors to the College are required to sign in and out.
• Parents visiting the College are required to wear their PLC name badge.
• Visitors to the College are required to wear a PLC visitor’s name badge.
Assemblies involve Years 1 to 6 and are held each fortnight in the Swim and Recreation Centre (SRC). Parents are encouraged to attend. The assembly dates are available on the calendar and Junior School News. Assemblies provide an opportunity for students to:
• Share the learning, celebrate special days, and showcase performances
• Learn about service and action opportunities
• Hear from student leaders, the Head of Junior School, and special guests
• Receive Recognition Awards.
Booklists are available on home.plc.wa.edu.au > Booklists for students from Years 4 to 6. The College will organise the purchase of booklists for children from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 3. The cost will be charged to your school account.

• Parents of Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children are required to collect them from the classroom.

• In the afternoons, staff are on duty at the slipways until 3.45 pm and all students should be collected by this time. Please follow any requests or directions given by these staff.
For the safety of all our students, Junior School children are not permitted to wait for their parents in any other areas unless they are accompanied by a sibling from Senior School or special arrangements have been made with the class teacher.
Parents and guardians are reminded of the importance of taking care during pick-up and drop-off, especially when using the slipways. Please be reminded that only left turns only into and out of the slipways are permissible. As vision is blocked due to traffic congestion at these times, please be careful and courteous.
To reduce congestion, please do not arrive before your eldest daughter’s staggered pick-up time (see page 4)

The Junior School has two slipways:
• Eastern Slipway – closest to the river
• Western Slipway – closest to Stirling Highway
• Please move on if your child is not waiting or when requested by a staff member.
• All traffic signs must be obeyed.
• Parking in the slipway is not permitted.
• Parents please stay in your vehicle . Staff will be on duty to promote independence, ensure student safety, and assist when required.
• In the interest of a congestion-free area, we request that parents time their daughter/s collection such that there is no need to wait or park in the slipways. The entrance to the slipways should remain free to enable vehicular access at all times.
• Please display your name on the dash/visor . Clear display of this card enables a more efficient and smoother system. If you have lost your name label, please contact Reception who will issue you with a replacement.
• When entering the slipway, please drive as far forward as you safely can when dropping off or collecting your child.
• For drop-off and pick-up only, parents with priority parking name cards (PreKindergarten, Kindergarten, and Pre-Primary), indicated by colour, are permitted to park in parent bays located in the Junior School Visitor Car Park.
• The Junior School Visitor Car Park is available to parents visiting the College between 9.00 am to 2.30 pm, or after 3.45 pm.
• At no time is parking permitted on either of the slipways outside the Junior School.
• There is limited parking on the College side of McNeil Street and parents should be mindful of street signage.
• Please do not park on the verges or driveways of local residents and be aware of parking restrictions in the area.
• Students in Pre-Kindergarten to Year 4 are not permitted to cross View Street, unless accompanied by an adult. No students are permitted to cross McNeil Street, unless accompanied by an adult.

• The Junior School Canteen, named The Pantry, is situated in the undercover area opposite the Pool and is open every school day.
• The College uses the online system, Flexischools, for student lunch orders and can be purchased through Flexischools app or URL and using their SmartRider (Year 3 to 6).
Go to flexischools.com.au or download the Flexischools app.
1. Click sign-up and follow the prompts. (We recommend using your PLC login.)
2. Click Profile and under Students, click Add New. Follow the prompts to add your daughter/s.
3. Click Wallet to top up credit to the parent wallet (do not use the FLX Accounts).
4. To place an order, click Home, then Order Food. Orders need to be made by 9.00 am.
Students from Years 3 to 6 are able to use their SmartRider to pay directly at The Pantry but a Flexischools account must be set up prior to use and credit loaded. See above.
On the first day of school, Junior School students from Years 3 to 6 will be supplied with a SmartRider card without their photo to be used until they are issued with a permanent SmartRider card with their school photo. Junior School SmartRiders will be handed out in class.
Parents of Junior School students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2 may also request a SmartRider. Please contact Junior School Reception.
Lost SmartRiders can be replaced by ordering a replacement at Junior School Reception. $4 will be charged to her student account.
Your daughter will need to activate her SmartRider card once she has received it. Junior School students are to take their SmartRider to the ILT Service Desk outside the STEM Room for assistance. This attaches the student number to the card.
