About PLC

Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC Perth) is a leading independent day and boarding school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, located in Peppermint Grove, Western Australia. Established in 1915, the College has a long tradition of academic excellence, strong pastoral care, and a commitment to developing confident, capable young women.

PLC offers a broad and balanced education, underpinned by internationally recognised programmes. In the Junior School, students engage in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), which fosters inquiry, curiosity, and a love of learning. In the Senior School, students can choose from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, ATAR, and VET pathways, enabling each girl to pursue a course of study aligned to her strengths and aspirations.

The College places a strong emphasis on wellbeing, ensuring that every student is known, valued, and supported throughout her educational journey. This is complemented by a wide range of co-curricular opportunities, including sport, music, outdoor education, and service learning, which contribute to the development of leadership, resilience, and character.

PLC is also home to a vibrant boarding community, welcoming students from regional Western Australia, interstate, and overseas. The Boarding House provides a supportive and inclusive environment where students develop independence, form lasting friendships, and fully participate in College life.

Guided by the College motto, Labore et Honore (By Work and By Honour), PLC is committed to nurturing young women of integrity, purpose, and compassion, prepared to make a meaningful contribution to their communities and the wider world.

Student Attendance Rate

PLC’s whole school attendance rate for 2025 was 93.1%.

PLC monitors attendance in line with Western Australian requirements, recording it daily and following up all unexplained absences. Ongoing non-attendance is addressed through early intervention, family engagement, and support strategies to promote consistent student attendance.

Pathways

93 (73.2%) students undertook WACE studies for the ATAR pathway and 16 (12.6%) students chose the Vocational Education and Training pathway.

18 (14.17%) students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Combined IB/WACE Median ATAR: 87.75.

20% of the cohort achieved an ATAR of 95 or above.

Following graduation, many of our Year 12 students continued their academic journeys at leading universities, including The University of Western Australia, The University of Melbourne, Curtin University, Leiden University (Netherlands), The University of Notre Dame, and James Cook University to name a few.

WACE

Median ATAR 88.53

• 6.5% of eligible students achieved an ATAR score of 99 or more

• 20% of eligible students achieved an ATAR score of 95 or more

• 83% of eligible students received an ATAR score over 80

IB Diploma

Median Score – 34 (95.1 ATAR equivalent)

• 100% of IB students passed the IB Diploma at PLC The world pass rate is 80%

• 50% of students above world average

• 50% of IB students achieved an ATAR equivalent of 95 or higher based on UWA conversion

• Level 7s were achieved in 7 courses (5 Higher Level and 2 Standard Level subjects)

Survey Data

PLC Perth is committed to listening to the views and expectations of key stakeholders and commissions independent surveys to provide perception data on a wide range of related education topics.

The feedback from these surveys greatly assists the College with both its operational and strategic planning and its determination to continually improve the educational experience offered to the students.

In 2025, 255 parents and 383 students from selected year groups participated in surveys and provided views on areas such as academic performance, student wellbeing, pastoral care, co-curricular activities, communications, and reputation.

Parents

A selection of the parents’ top level findings are detailed below.

The top five areas are:

1. 91% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to the Quality of teaching

2. 92% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to a Balanced education

3. 89% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to Providing a safe and caring environment

4. 86% of parents noted their expectations were met or exceeded in relation to the Management & leadership

Students
