The Story

A contrast of glossy and matte perforated surfaces: Cielo presents itself as a delicate perforated pattern in bisque that simultaneously embraces and enhances any glazed sideboard surface. Our iconic design was created in 1992, when Stefanie Hering experimented with hand-drilled pieces to test how much mass could be removed from the clay without loss of form - to the limits of what was possible.

Ein Kontrast von glänzenden und mattperforierten Oberflächen: Cielo präsentiert sich als filigranes Lochmuster in Biskuit, das jede glasierte Anrichtefläche zugleich umspielt und veredelt. Unser ikonisches Design entstand 1992, als Stefanie Hering mit handgebohrten Stücken experimentierte, um zu testen, wie viel Masse ohne Formverlust aus dem Ton entfernt werden kann – bis an die Grenzen des Möglichen.

Cielo is undoubtedly our most elaborate decoration: each hole is drilled individually and by hand into the leather-hard, unfired porcelain. The holes are then plastered with a sharp stainless steel blade and smoothed with a fine sponge.

Dekor: Jedes Loch wird einzeln und per Hand in das lederharte, ungebrannte Porzellan gebohrt. Anschließend werden die Löcher mit einer scharfen Edelstahlklinge verputzt und mittels eines feinen Schwammes geglättet.

After high firing at up to 1400°C, the perforated surface is given a manual polishing with a diamond coated tool.

Nach dem Hochbrand bei bis zu 1400°C erhält die perforierte Oberfläche einen manuellen Feinschliff mit einem Diamantwerkzeug.

As one of our bisque porcelain collections, Cielo is robust, durable and easy to care for: traces of use such as cutlery abrasion can be easily polished off the resistant bisque. This makes the collection suitable for the home table and ideal for use in hospitality.

Als eine unserer BiskuitporzellanKollektionen ist Cielo robust, langlebig und pflegeleicht: Gebrauchsspuren wie Besteckabrieb lassen sich einfach von dem widerstandsfähigen Biskuit polieren. Damit eignet sich die Kollektion hervorragend für die heimische Tafel und ist ideal für den Einsatz in der Gastronomie.
