U GANDA SustainableTourism Wednesday, September 25, 8:00 p.m. (CT) Explore the developing tourism industry in Uganda with this new local production from Prairie Public. The documentary chronicles a six-year pilot project by the University of Manitoba’s National Resources Institute and Dr. Michael Campbell, who helped three Ugandan communities build their tourism industry while also protecting the abundant wildlife and ecologically sensitive scenery. Uganda: Sustainable Tourism is made possible with financial support from the University of Manitoba’s National Resources Institute and by the members of Prairie Public.

Two of our writers placed first nationally! Vivi Allosso, a kindergarten student from Bemidji, MN, and Caleigh Gabriel, a third grade student from Fargo, ND, have received first place honors at the national level in the 2013 PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest. Their stories were entered in the national competition after they placed first in their grade level in Prairie Public’s local contest. Allosso and Gabriel’s stories were chosen from thousands of entrants nationwide.
