The NDSU-UND Rivalry
Tuesday, September 18, at 7:00 p.m. (CT) This remarkable new documentary from Prairie Public chronicles two great sports rivalries. The UND/NDSU men’s football rivalry raged between 1981 and 2003, and the women’s basketball rivalry played out during the 1990s when NDSU and UND combined to win eight out of nine national titles. The action will replay on September 22 at 7:00 or 9:00 p.m. (CT)!

Highlights include Her Majesty juggling the dual role of mother and queen, and a sequence of the young Prince Charles and Princess Anne playing at the beach in Norfolk. The Met fulfills Wagner’s dream of a perfect Ring Prairie Public presents a truly epic 17 hours of television with Robert Lepage’s acclaimed new production of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen. “The New York Times” hailed it as “the most theatrically effective staging of the four works in this epic series,” and the Associated Press called it “visually stunning and dramatically engrossing.” The four-part opera from Great Performances at the Met airs September 1114 beginning at 8:00 p.m. (CT) each evening. But there’s more. The television event actually begins on September 10 at 8:00 p.m. (CT) with
filmmaker Susan Froemke’s documentary Wagner’s Dream, which chronicles the backstory of the ambitious new staging. The German composer Richard Wagner’s (1813-83) opera, often referred to as the Ring Cycle, comprises the four dramas Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung. The drama begins as the gods of Valhalla clash with underworld dwarves and brawny giants, with disastrous consequences. The evil Alberich steals gold to forge a ring of unimaginable power, and the chain of events that follows is legendary!

Artist and teacher Buck Paulson is hosting a free workshop for painting enthusiasts!
