What’s Happening JJ’s Helping Paws celebrates another successful year In 2019, there were 1,300 cats and dogs spayed and neutered with JJ’s specialized spay and neuter programs (TNR of feral/community cats, low-cost spay and neuter for pet owned cats/dogs, and Uber Kitty Rescue Program). Nearly 430 cats and kittens were surrendered to JJ’s Uber Kitty Program. They enter the foster program before going to rescue partners for adoption. JJ’s is able to provide much needed and often lifesaving veterinarian care for these cats and kittens before going to rescue partners. Many of the kittens surrendered to JJ’s are young, feral kittens and JJ’s volunteers spend a lot of time socializing them to prepare them for home life. Additionally, 2,050 vaccinations were provided (TNR community/feral cats, lowcost spay and neuter for pet owned cats/dogs, and Uber Kitty Rescue Program) and more than 600 feral/community cats received assistance from JJ’s feral food bank – every single day. JJ’s shares these accomplishments with such gratitude as JJ’s is 100% volunteer and knows that it takes a village to do this work. There are so many stories of volunteers arriving to bring starving cats food, or a volunteer staying up all night to bottlefeed kittens, or a volunteer picking up pet owned cats for spay/neuter because the owner does not own a vehicle. Each and every day JJ’s volunteers are serving the community with kindness and passion. This work is possible because of the volunteers, the community and
