March 28, 1961 ~ September 19, 2018
Toy Jean (Brandt) Trentzsch, 57, went to be with our Lord on September 19, 2018 at her home in Canon City. She was born March 28, 1961 to Jesse and Edna (Russell) Brandt. She went to Canon City High School and was a proud tiger graduate with the Class of 1980. She married Terry Lee Trentzsch on February 9, 1985. In her life she worked at St. Thomas More Hospital, QuickStop, Taco Time, provided free lance in-home health Care, Bethesda Nursing Home and Hildebrand Nursing Home. She was loved and appreciated by the many patients in her care for her sense of humor and enthusiasm. Her hobbies included her love of dogs, painting, designing, gardening and traveling. She collected butterflies, angels and hummingbirds. An avid Denver Broncos fan she could be heard rooting on her team throughout the neighborhood on game day. She is survived by her son, Tyler James
Trentzsch of Canon City; sisters, Patricia Stoops, Jodene (Ray) Newmyer, Dale Darlene Brandt, Rita (Leroy) Curry; and brother, Russell (Maria) Brandt; along with numerous nieces and nephews of several generations. She was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Terry Lee Trentzsch, who passed on November 6, 2002; parents, Jesse Dale Brandt and Edna McBeth; step-father, Joseph McBeth; and brother, Steven (Pat) Brandt. . Lonnie Jay Runner
February 25, 1951 - September 8, 2018 Lonnie J. Runner, 67, passed away September 8, 2018 in Silver Cliff, CO. He was born February 25, 1951 in Florence, CO, to Lon and Delores (Pontius) Runner. A life-long resident of the Fremont County and Westcliffe areas, Lonnie graduated from Florence High School in 1969. After high school, Lonnie went to work for Man-An-So where he was the plant manager before joining Ajack Industries in the 80's and 90's. He finished his working career with Transit Mix in Colorado Springs. When he wasn't working, Lonnie enjoyed his time as a pilot, racing cars, fishing, hunting, camping, and is a certified SCUBA diver.
He is survived by his father Lon Runner and stepmother Elinor Runner; son, Kevin (Gwyn) Runner; sister, Deb (Richard) Livsey; brother, Jack (Charlotte) Runner; grandchildren,, Konner Runner, Kylie Runner, Timothy Gall, and Alex Gall. He was predeceased by his mother Delores; wife Melanie Runner, son, Brendan Gall, and grandson Kristopher Runner. January 10, 1934 - September 19, 2018
Norman Apple, 84, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2018 in Colorado Springs. He was born January 10, 1934 in Crowley County to Roscoe and Edith (Jenkins) Apple. He helped his father on their farm until graduating from Ordway High School in 1951. He met the love of his life Peggy Griswold at a basketball game and soon after he graduated, they were married. The couple made their home first in Pueblo where he was employed at C.F. & I for 31 years. They moved to Florence in 1962. Upon retiring he worked at Taco Bell and as a greeter at Walmart. He was preceded in
death by his parents and a brother, Gilbert. He is survived by his wife Peggy; a son Mike (Geri) Apple; daughter Debbie Noble; all of Canon City and a daughter Connie Thomas of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Ashley Harris, Angie, Steven and Richard Noble of Canon City; Mike Key of Longmont and Michelle (James) Sullivan of Colorado Springs; greatgrandchildren Adriana and Alex Sullivan, Elizabeth, Samantha and Stephanie Key; a sister Wilma Seuser of Austin, Texas and seven nieces and nephews.
Bruce Alan Glynn
April 23, 1959 - September 21, 2018 Bruce Alan Glynn, 59, passed away after a brave battle with Multiple Sclerosis on September 21, 2018. He was born in Madison, South Dakota to William and Carol (Pigsley) Glynn. He was raised in Shakopee, MN and eventually settled in Canon City, CO. Bruce often commented that he was "bumbling through life", but in reality he lived life to the fullest and on his terms. Proud of his Nakota heritage with the Yankton Sioux nation, he loved guiding people through his sweat lodges he had on his property and guided many people through that process. He was a happy person who loved to cook and help others. Before he became ill, he worked helping people
on a Suicide Hotline, helping others understand how important life was. In keeping with his Native American heritage, Bruce loved to tell stories, whether it be in his sweat lodge or talking to folks walking along the River Walk as they past his home. He is survived by his wife, Judith; her 4 children with grand/great grandchildren; siblings, Pamela (John) Ham, Mary (Gary) Wilhelm, Richard (Lori) Glynn, Patrick (Annette) Glynn, Marty (Jody) Glynn; his daughter Miranda Rasmussen and three grandchildren. Felderhof said this acquisition is a benefit for shareholders because it expands holdings overall and gives the company more growth potential. He said the project is almost a geological twin to the Dawson Gold Project, which is comprised of five gold mineralized areas, located in the historic Cooper King Mine site, southwest of Cañon City. Felderhof said he and other Zephyr representatives are committed to working with community members and addressing their concerns. A public meeting will be conducted to answer questions once a mining permit application is submitted to the Fremont County Board of Commissioners, which likely will be during the first half of 2019, he said. Some residents have expressed concerns that the Dawson project will have a negative impact on their home values, but Felderhof said that’s not the case. “I think if you have more economic activity, it will actually drive the homes up,” he said. “They can’t see us, we’re behind the hill, we’re not blasting in an open pit, we are going to be quite a ways underground — the posture of the deposit is 350 feet below surface.” The straight line distance from the intersection of Mariposa Road and Temple Canyon Road to the Dawson gate is three miles, and the straight line distance from the gate to the laydown area is 0.9 miles.
