Project SOLOMON II®is working! The fee ling of excitement an d the d egree of enthus iasm d eve lo ped in these first months of o p eration h as strengthened th e co nviction of the G rand Lodge that now is th e time to reverse th e decline in m embership and r ebuild Freemasonry in Pennsylva nia. The s pecific obj ective ofProject SOLOMON I I is to add 50,000 m embers over the next four years; to rebu ild the fra ternity in this state to 250,000 m embe rs by the end o f1987. The building p lan has been d eveloped, the craft has been organized and provided with the workin g tools needed to carry out the plan. We are worki ng the pl an and piling u p evidence that th e p la n works! It is a b it too ear ly to predict specifi c trend s. but the in formation now being gathe red is ext rem ely en co uragin g. • Lodges t hat have not had a ny pe titioners for several years s uddenly find themselves actin g favorably on four or five petitions. • Lodges that h ave hand led s ix or eight new m embers over a period of o ne year find t hem selves act ing on s ix o r e ight petitions in a s ing le evening. • One lo dge has processed more t han 30 m embers in the first four mon t hs of t he year. • Petition activity for the fraterni ty as a whole has increased more th an 15 per cent in t he first third of the year.

An Apprentice Builder, who brings one new m ember to the fraternity, receives a bronze pin. A f'ellowcraft B uilder, who brings
two new m embers to the fra tern i ty, receives a s ilver pin. A Master Builder. one who brings three or more m embers to the fraternity in m eeting his responsibility to insure the success of Project Solomon II. is entitled to w ear a gold lap el pin.
