Stern , Past Master of Coatesville Lodge No. 564, Coatesville, and a Past District Deputy Grand Master. Bro. Arthur A. Krudener, a Past Master of Milnor Lodge No . 287, Pittsburgh. Bro. James W. Fry, Past Master of University Lodge No. 6 10, Philadelphia, and a Past District Deputy Gra nd Master. Bro. Clifford J. Manns, Past Master of Waverly Lodge No. 301, Clarks Summit, and a Past District Deputy Grand Master.
The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania lost a dedicated Mason in the death of Bro. Sanford M. Chilcote, Right Worshipful Past Grand Master. He was Grand Master in 1958 and 1959. Bro. Chilcote, an outstanding attorney and Masonic leader, died Ja nuary 11, 1974. He lived in Oakmont, a Pittsburgh suburban community. He was born in Nanty Glo, Cambria County, the son· of the Rev. Philip J. Chilcote, a Methodist minister, and Annie Peters Chilcote. He was educated at Aspinwall High School, Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh Law School. He was a senior partner in the law firm of Dickie, McCamey, Chilcote and Robi nson , of Pittsburgh. H e was a member of Verona Lodge F. & A. M. No. 548, and served as Worshipful Master in 1945. In York Rite Masonry, he was a member of the Homewood Royal Arch Chapter, No. 297, Liberty Valley Council No. 5, Pittsburgh Commandery No. I , United States Premier Conclave No. 1, of the Red Cross of Constantine, ~nd Risicruciana Society of the Umted States . In Scottish Rite Masonry, he was a member of the Gourgas Lodge of Perfection, Pittsburgh Council of Princes of Jerusalem, Pittsburgh Chapter of Rose Croix and Pennsylvania Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh. He served the Consistory as Commander-in-Chief. For his dedicated work in Freemasonry, Bro. Chilcote was coroneted a Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33 °.

Bro. Rochester B. Woodall, a retired Philadelphia business executive, h as been installed as R. W . Grand Master of Masons in Pennsylvania. The ancient installation ceremony took place on December 27, 1973, at the Annual Grand Communication of the Grand Lodge held in the Masonic Temple Philadelphia.
He served as an Active Member of the Supreme Council for many years. He was also a member of The Royal Order of Scotland, Syria Shrine, Temple of Pittsburgh and Royal Order of Jesters, Pittsburgh Court No. 2. Bro. Chilcote served Grand Lodge as the District Deputy Grand Master for the 54th Masonic District from 1948 until he was elected R. W . Junior Grand Warden in 195 1. He was installed as Right Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Pennsylvania on December 27 , 1957. Bro. Chilcote inaugurated the "Pennsylvania Plan" to help fi nance the George Washi ngton National Memorial at Alexandria, Virginia, when he was Grand Master. He served the Memorial Association as a Trustee from 1960 until his death. In addition to his Masonic activities, Bro. Chilcote was a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association ; Pennsylvania Bar Association; American Bar Association; Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers; American Judicature Society and In ternational Association of Insurance Council.

Woodall served as Worshioful Master of Fernwood Lodge No. 543, Philadelphia, in 1950; eleven years as a trustee of Patton Masonic School; and ten years as District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District "B." He was elected Junior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge on December 27 , 1967, and served as Senior Grand Warden, and Deputy Grand Master, previous to being elected Grand Master. A resident of Philadelphia for the past 50 years, Bro. Woodall was formerly secretary-treasurer of Kahns, Tnc., Philadelphia; treasurer of Sherrill Corporation, Philadelphia; treasurer of Jonns Furniture, Montgomeryville, and a business consultant. Bro. Woodall was a former trustee of Dales Memorial United Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia, and is now a member of Olivet-Ashbourne United Presbyterian Church, Elkins Park. Activities Planned For March Quarterly The March Quarterly Communication of Grand Lodge will be held March 6 in the Masonic Temple, One North Broad Street, Philadelphia. Grand Lodge will convene at 7 p.m. in Corinthian Hall. Following Grand Lodge, refreshments will be served in the Grand Banquet Hall. All Master Masons are invited to attend.
