On behalf of the France Family, we welcome you back to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and a spotlight weekend for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge – the O’Reilly Auto Parts 4 Hours of Mid-Ohio on Sunday, June 7.
The Mid-Ohio race is our second of two four-hour races for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. From the showroom to the speedway, the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge is IMSA’s showcase for the latest in American-made and imported high-performance sports cars, coupes, hatchbacks and sedans.
This series is home to the same cars seen on streets and highways around the world and offers racing in two classes – Grand Sport (GS) and Touring Car (TCR) – running a 10-race schedule in tandem with most of the WeatherTech Championship events. Mid-Ohio provides a chance to showcase these competitors to the always engaged sports car audience that comes to this track.
Seven manufacturers in Grand Sport (Aston Martin, BMW, Ford, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Toyota) and four in Touring Car (Audi, Cupra, Honda and Hyundai) provide some of the best door-to-door racing action on a given IMSA weekend. The four-hour format opens strategic options beyond the standard-length two-hour races.
Beyond the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, three other IMSA-sanctioned series are in attendance, the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin and Mustang Challenge. All three series run a pair of 45-minute sprint races, split one apiece between Saturday and Sunday. The IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge features LMP3 and GSX class cars, while Mazda MX-5 Cup and Mustang Challenge deliver thrills from their single, purpose-built cars.
Our fan-friendly, open paddock is designed to be as accommodating as possible. Be sure to get your hands on one of our free Fan Guides located around the track, which provide a spotter’s guide of car illustrations and handy weekend tidbits.
Plan to head to the Infield Super Pavilion to get an up close-and-personal look at our full field and meet the drivers during the Michelin Pilot Challenge driver autograph session Sunday morning.

We are excited to kick off the season with a weekend full of sports car racing headlined by the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge endurance race on Sunday. This is the form of racing Mid-Ohio was built to showcase when it opened in 1962.
Additional on track action features doubleheader races from the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin and the return of Mustang Challenge North America, a fan-favorite when it made its series debut at Mid-Ohio in 2024.
O’Reilly Auto Parts Four Hours of Mid-Ohio weekend schedule highlights follow:
• Friday, June 5 - The on-track action begins bright and early at 8:30 a.m. with VP Racing SportsCar Challenge! All racing series will hit the track for practice throughout the day.
• Saturday, June 6 - VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Mustang Challenge and Mazda MX-5 Cup will all qualify in the morning starting as early as 8:50 a.m. and have their first races in the afternoon. IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge will qualify for Sunday’s endurance race at 4:10 p.m.
• Sunday, June 7 - It’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Four Hours of Mid-Ohio race day! Get here early because the IMSA Pilot Challenge Fan Walk starts at 11:20 a.m. Green flag is at 12:15 p.m. for four hours taking on Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course!

IMSA MICHELIN PILOT CHALLENGE SEASON-TO-DATE

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The opening three rounds of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season have delivered some late-race drama and five different brands (Aston Martin, McLaren, BMW, Hyundai, Cupra) atop the charts. As competitors gear up for a heavy summer stretch of racing where the series races five times from June through August, starting strong at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 4 Hours of Mid-Ohio is pivotal for season-long success.
GRAND SPORT (GS)
Aston Martin scored a 1-2 finish to open the campaign at Daytona, with Robin Liddell embarking on another classic Liddell late-race charge to deliver a win for the No. 71 Rebel Rock Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVO with longtime
co-drivers Frank DePew and Andrew Davis.
McLaren enjoyed an authoritative run at the front at Sebring, as Moisey Uretsky and Michael Cooper scored their third win in the last four races dating to 2025 in their No. 44 Ibiza Farm Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4.

Turner Motorsport’s pair of past GS champions – Dillon Machavern and Luca Mars – propelled themselves into the points lead with a win at Round 3 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Driving the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 EVO, they started with fourth and third place finishes before breaking through to win in Monterey. Daan Arrow and Bryce Ward in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT GT4 sat second leaving Monterey, 30 in arrears, with third on back all 150 or more points behind.
Turner won at Mid-Ohio last year with Machavern and Francis Selldorff, while Mars won at Watkins Glen last year in the RS1

TOURING CAR (TCR)
Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian and its armada of Hyundai Elantra N TCR cars have again started strong in 2026, winning two of the first three races after opening 2025 with a quartet of wins on the trot.
In Daytona, Preston Brown and Denis Dupont maintained their four-hour race form in the No. 76 Hyundai, scoring their third four-hour race win in the last four (Mid-Ohio 2024, Daytona 2025). Dupont passed teammate Bryson Morris with 16 minutes left to grab the lead and ultimately, the win.
Morris and Mason Filippi broke through for their first win of the year at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, with Filippi taking the pole and Morris bringing home the victory in the No. 33 car ahead of teammates Brown and Dupont.
Three Herta Hyundai entries – the Nos. 33, 76 and 98 (Mark Wilkins and Madison Aust) cars – ranked in the top three in points leaving Monterey ahead of the first non-Hyundai, Gonzalez and Girolami in the No. 99 Cupra.
Herta Hyundai won at Mid-Ohio in 2025 with Filippi and Harry Gottsacker; Honda broke the run of form at Watkins Glen as LP Montour and Karl Wittmer shared the winning No. 93 MMG Honda Civic FL5 TCR there.
At Sebring, Cupra followed McLaren in GS in winning its third race in the last four, after also claiming the final two wins of 2025. This victory here came in the hands of Tyler Gonzalez and series newcomer Franco Girolami, sharing the No. 99 Victor Gonzalez Racing Cupra Leon VZ TCR.
IMSA VP RACING SPORTSCAR CHALLENGE SEASON-TO-DATE
THROUGH COTA, PRE-MID-OHIO
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.
– The IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge has evolved slightly in 2026 with multiple race formats. The series continues its single-driver, 45-minute, two-race sprint weekends with both Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) and Grand Sport X (GSX) entries as you’ll see this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. It has also added an endurance component; LMP3 competitors can also partake in the IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge on four race weekends with twodriver, two-hour single races. That creates a dynamic
where LMP3 competitors score points across both sprint and endurance formats, while also gaining the experience in both formats as or if they seek to expand their IMSA presence in the future.
LE MANS PROTOTYPE 3 (LMP3)
The LMP3 story through the opening race weekends of 2026 nicely blends the old and the new, both in terms of drivers, teams and cars. New third generation LMP3 cars join second generation entries on-track, leading to increased car count ranging
from eight to 10 cars after running roughly half that at most 2025 races.
At Daytona, Oscar Tunjo opened the campaign with a pair of wins in his Gebhardt Motorsport USA Duqueine D08, sweeping the weekend for the team that also swept it in 2025 with Valentino Catalano. Series newcomer Wyatt Brichacek followed up with a Saturday two-race sweep at Circuit of The Americas’ National course the last weekend of February, driving Toney Driver Development’s new Ligier JS P325.
At the first Airbnb Endurance Challenge race
at Sebring, Brichacek and Lincoln Day appeared poised to add another win before a late-race fuel pump failure. That opened the door for Tunjo and Catalano – now getting the chance to drive together in IMSA competition – to win the first two-hour race of the season.

weekend, second endurance and sixth total race of the LMP3 season in May, with Brichacek and Titus Sherlock winning there.
Tunjo led the overall, sprint and endurance standings through COTA in May, with Catalano joining him atop the endurance standings. Brian Thienes (No. 77 Forte Racing Ligier JS P325) and Danny Soufi (No. 11 PINAXIS-ZONE 4 Racing) trailed Tunjo in the overall standings.

Through a mix of pace, patience and tenacity, Workman has won each of the first four GSX rounds in 2026 aboard his No. 8 RAFA Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2. The most dramatic of which was Round 2 at Daytona in the rain, where Workman overcame both air jack and power steering issues to drive from the back to the front in the 45-minute race.
The perfect start sees Workman on 1400 points leaving COTA in February heading to Mid-Ohio, 240 clear of second-placed and multi-time podium finisher Courtney Crone in her No. 35 CarBahn BMW M4 GT4 EVO. Sean Quinlan (No. 19 Stephen Cameron Racing Ford Mustang GT4) and Marc Austin (No. 22 Mad Joker Racing by Lone Star Racing) split the Bronze Cup wins, with Quinlan sweeping Daytona and Austin sweeping in Austin.

The Salt Lake City based driver so the push to cross the line first is in his blood. m Cup class Champion moves up to compete in Pro/Am, while Am driver Austin, Texas based businessman Pierre Mulacek will run a partial season in the series for Risi Competizione. Vital SpeeTrevor Baek and Jeff Westphal sharing duties in Pro/Am and Richard Baek and Mark Issa running in the team’s Am entry.
