Season After Season: A Story of Connection and Growth

The longstanding partnership between Valsana and Powder Byrne continues to be a story of success for the Valsana Hotel - it’s a connection built on shared values and a passion for exceptional guest experiences.

PowderByrne has proven to be an important and reliable partner, sharing our commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience. Working closely with the Powder Byrne team on site has been a true pleasure. Their professionalism and dedication enhance the overall experience, and the collaborative spirit between our teams only grows stronger with each season.

The sporty, active crowd Powder Byrne attracts fits perfectly with the Valsana spirit. Whether it’s skiing, hiking, or mountain biking, these guests seek adventure by day and comfort by night. Their enthusiasm for sport and the outdoors aligns with everything we stand for.

Guests love the unique Valsana style, a relaxed, informal, and inviting. This cosy atmosphere creates a space where people truly feel at home,

and it’s not uncommon for guests to get to know each other, building a welcoming community within the hotel.

Looking ahead, we are excited to share some new developments and to welcoming Powder Byrne guests to the Swiss Alps during the summer months.

Together with Powder Byrne, we look forward to many more seasons filled with adventure, collaboration and welcoming many new families to create unforgettable moments.

Our longstanding commitment to personal service, quality equipment, and a deep love for the outdoors is the foundation of our success. These values align perfectly with our exciting partnership with Powder Byrne. As two family-run companies with shared principles and a passion for the mountains, we see great potential to grow together.

Icaught the ‘sports shop fever’ during my first winter season in 2008. Now, I manage our three Andermatt stores and feel honoured to carry on our family story in this dynamic resort. We look forward to welcoming Powder Byrne guests because true alpine experiences are even better when shared.

Imholz Sport is a proud family business, now in its third generation, with roots in the Canton of Uri since 1948. What began as a small shop in Bürglen, hometown of Swiss legend William Tell, has grown into a trusted name for mountain sports enthusiasts across the region.

We are proud to support Powder Byrne guests with top-tier gear, tailored advice, and the kind of local expertise that only decades of experience can offer.

Our Andermatt journey began in the 1990s with a single store. Today, we operate three key locations: the Nordic House, our Piazza Gottardo shop, and our base at the Gemsstockbahn.

Andermatt itself has evolved from a historic ski destination, home to one of Switzerland’s first ski lifts in 1937, into a world-class resort spanning Sedrun to Disentis.

THOMAS IMHOLZ IMHOLZ SPORT ANDERMATT

PowderByrne’s consistent presence and commitment over 35 years has played a key role in elevating Arosa Lenzerheide, particularly in the UK and Irish market. Their dedicated in-resort teams and highly visible operations have made them the most prominent and recognisable tour operator in the region, delivering a seamless and reassuring experience for their guests.

What continues to impress us is Powder Byrne’s unwavering dedication to service excellence. While Arosa Lenzerheide may not have the highprofile “radiance” of other Alpine resorts, we differentiate ourselves through exceptional service and an uncompromising focus on guest satisfaction. Powder Byrne not only understands this approach, they embody it in everything they do, making them a trusted and natural partner.

Looking ahead, the resort is excited about the opening of a new ‘Täli’ chairlift, our expanded snowmaking capabilities and making significant steps toward digitalisation, all designed to further enhance all our guest experiences.

We look forward to many more years of successful collaboration with Powder Byrne, confident that their presence will continue to bring outstanding value to both our resort and the guests who experience Arosa Lenzerheide through their expert care.

It’s not every day that two companies share not only the same mountain, but also the same founding year. Powder Byrne and Graf Sport were both established in 1985, and from the very beginning, our paths have been closely intertwined in Grindelwald.

Wefondly remember the early days, when Rory himself would arrive in his iconic white Land Rover, managing everything personally with charm and ease. He brought with him not just clients, but a real spirit of connection and authenticity. Grindelwald was a little quieter then, but with Powder Byrne in town, there was always a buzz – and always great skiing to be had.

In those early winters, we all waited eagerly for the arrival of the "white gold" – snow. It was the start signal for long days on the slopes and even longer evenings filled with stories and laughter. There were regular meet-ups between Rory and our founders, Hans and Annemarie – often starting with a ski session and ending with a “quick” drink that sometimes stretched into seven hours of good times and unforgettable conversations.

Those moments were more than just social gatherings; they were the foundation of a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values, and a deep love for the mountains. Over the decades, our team at Graf Sport has had the pleasure of welcoming countless

Powder Byrne clients. It’s been a privilege to be their trusted outfitter for gear and advice. The connection has always felt personal and never transactional.

Grindelwald continues to evolve, and so do we. But the heart of our collaboration with Powder Byrne remains unchanged: a shared dedication to quality, personalised service, and creating unforgettable alpine experiences.

We’re incredibly proud of this long-standing partnership – and truly excited for the many snowy seasons, smiling faces, and mountain memories still to come.

Entering our Fifth Decade: The Future of Powder Byrne

I was recently asked, as we enter our fifth decade, what the future of Powder Byrne looks like. For me, the answer lies not in radical reinvention, but in staying true to what has always set us apart - genuine expertise, a personal approach, and an unwavering commitment to our clients. That said, the future is exciting, with new destinations, innovative technology, and fresh opportunities to inspire the next generation of skiers. Here is where we are headed.

UNRIVALLED EXPERTISE, UNMATCHED TALENT

At Powder Byrne, our greatest strength has always been our people. From our expert ski guides and childcare professionals to our resort managers and concierge teams, every member of our team brings genuine passion, deep expertise, and a commitment to excellence. As we grow, we are focused on nurturing this talent and investing in training for the next generation of skiers and ski professionals.

PARTNERS IN EXCELLENCE

For nearly four decades, we have built lasting relationships with some of the most respected resorts, hoteliers, and ski schools across Europe and beyond. These partnerships allow us to deliver extraordinary experiences that are both personal and seamless. Trust and collaboration will remain at the heart of everything we do.

ALWAYS PUTTING CLIENTS FIRST

We remain proudly independent, which gives us the freedom to do what we believe is right for our clients. Every decision, from the resorts we add to the personal touches we provide, is guided by what will best serve our clients' needs. Our goal is to exceed expectations at every turn.

THE HEART OF WHAT WE DO

Children’s ski development is, and always will be, central to the Powder Byrne experience. Our ski programmes, including Yeti, SnoZone and PB Ski Academy, continue to grow, offering inspiring programmes for every age and stage. We are proud to support the GB Youth Skiing scene, with several of our young skiers now progressing in teams on an international level.

EXPANDING HORIZONS

As we look ahead, we are excited to introduce new destinations and experiences, from hidden Alpine gems to further-flung adventures in Japan and beyond. We are also expanding our summer alpine experiences, offering families the chance to enjoy the mountains year-round through hiking, biking and wellness-focused escapes in our favourite resorts. Every addition reflects the quality, charm and personal service that define a Powder Byrne holiday.

ENHANCING THE DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

Technology will play an even greater role in delivering seamless, personalised service. From planning tools and booking journeys to in-resort communications, we are investing in digital experiences that impress and delight.

At Powder Byrne, we are not chasing trends.

We are building the future of luxury family skiing on the foundations that have always defined us: expertise, integrity and a genuine love of the mountains.

Whatmakes Powder Byrne such a valued partner for the Adula? It is the strong sense of familiarity and community we share.

Each season, we welcome back families who return year after year for a well organised, effortless holiday where every detail is thoughtfully arranged. For many, it is more than a getaway, it feels like a reunion. Guests gather around large tables, share meals, and create memories that last well beyond their stay.

The Adula is a natural fit for Powder Byrne clients, offering flexibility, comfort and a warm family atmosphere. With a variety of room sizes, styles and connecting options, we cater to families of all shapes and sizes. Our facilities are designed for all ages, including a kids club, teens room, video lounge, ski room, relaxing spa and even a dedicated restaurant space for group dining.

When Powder Byrne is in residence, the Adula truly comes to life. Their team brings their signature approach to personalised service, looking after every guest with care and attention from arrival to departure. It feels less like a hotel and more like a private home.

Among the most appreciated touches are shared dinners, whether guests choose our full board offering or dine à la carte. Seasonal menus, festive celebrations and engaging programmes for children and teenagers make each day both relaxed and full of possibility. Our close coordination with the Powder Byrne concierge and our location near the cable cars make every experience seamless and easy.

Looking ahead, we are excited to expand this partnership and welcome even more Powder Byrne guests throughout the year. Our new executive chef will lead a refreshed culinary direction, focusing on seasonal ingredients and greater variety, offering more freedom and flexibility in dining.

Following a successful refurbishment and launch, this trusted partnership continues to evolve, rooted in tradition and ready for another 35 years into the future.

HOTEL ADULA, FLIMS

MICHEL REYBIER HOSPITALITY

At Powder Byrne, we believe the most memorable holidays go beyond beautiful destinations and exceptional service. They are about creating lasting memories and meaningful relationships. That is the spirit behind our Client for Life programme. It is our way of saying thank you to the families and individuals who return to travel with us, year after year.

Client for Life is a collection of exclusive experiences and carefully selected adventures designed especially for our clients. From adult-only ski weeks to unique family escapes, each trip is crafted to reflect the personal needs and interests of our guests. Whether you are joining us for the first ski of the season, celebrating a special occasion in the mountains, or looking for a quieter, more relaxed holiday, we create something truly bespoke.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM CLIENT FOR LIFE

Every experience is designed with specific guests in mind. Our goal is to curate holidays that evolve alongside your lifestyle, ensuring you always can make new memories with Powder Byrne.

Our First Tracks weeks are ideal for parents with younger children who want to travel outside of peak school holidays. Our Season Exclusives allow you to enjoy once-in-a-lifetime adventures, thoughtfully created and delivered by our team.

Client for Life also brings us back to the origins of Powder Byrne. Our adult ski weeks celebrate the very essence of alpine exploration, filled with skiing on and off piste, guided by our expert ski leaders and experienced local mountain guides. Our ski touring and all mountain skiing weeks offer exactly that, challenge, exhilaration, and discovery in equal measure.

Over the past four decades, our team has gathered an incredible range of experiences, and we love to share them with our community. For the more adventurous traveller, we have designed holidays that go further afield, from skiing the pristine powder of Japan for the first time, to combining skiing with polo in the sunshine of southern Spain. Our team has the insight and passion to create holidays that are as adventurous as they are rewarding.

THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE DETAIL

What truly sets Client for Life apart is the level of care we bring to each experience. Our travel consultants and resort teams understand why our clients return year after year. That insight allows us to shape every trip to perfection, covering everything from ski guiding and childcare to restaurant bookings and destination selection.

Being a Client for Life means more than simply booking a holiday. It means becoming part of a trusted travel community, with access to our most exciting trips, exclusive events, and personalised service. It is a commitment to excellence and personal attention that reflects everything Powder Byrne stands for.

The off-piste ski weekend with Powder Byrne was exactly what we needed. I really appreciated the idea of a guided short break outside school holidays - it works brilliantly for those of us wanting to ski with older children who are working or at university and have more flexible time.

The name ‘Powder Byrne’ was born on a snowy mountainside in Grindelwald in 1985, inspired by the sensation of burning thighs from carving through deep, fresh powder. Today, that spirit lives on in our specially curated Ski Touring and Off Piste Ski Weeks, designed for adventurous skiers who want to explore further and experience more.

These unique ski weeks are about much more than just skiing. They combine expert ski guiding, curated off piste exploration, exceptional hospitality, and a sense of discovery that goes to the heart of what Powder Byrne is all about.

THE PERFECT BALANCE OF ON AND OFF PISTE

Each week is hosted by our experienced resort team, starting with our signature Powder Byrne ski guiding service. These guides are not instructors, but expert hosts who know the resort inside out and will tailor your experience based on your pace, preferences, and confidence. Whether you're eager to cover miles on groomed pistes or take a more relaxed approach, your guide will handle every detail - from planning the route to booking the best mountain restaurants for lunch.

Then, on those special days, you’ll step beyond the marked trails and into the world of ski touring and off piste adventure. Led by local all Mountain Guides with deep knowledge of the terrain, you’ll explore untouched powder and scenic descents that few others experience. These excursions are tailored to the group’s experience and the conditions, ensuring both safety and excitement.

It’s not about going extreme but rather, it’s about skiing smart, embracing freedom, and discovering parts of the mountain that most never see.

TAILORED FOR ADVENTUROUS SKIERS

Whether you are a confident intermediate looking to try your first off piste run, or an

experienced skier eager to explore new lines and remote areas, this experience is adapted to your level. There’s no pressure, just expert guidance, great company, and a shared passion for the mountains.

This is skiing the Powder Byrne way - wellorganised, personalised, and filled with memorable touches that elevate the entire experience.

BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

For the winter season, we return to our roots with a dedicated Ski Touring and Off Piste Week in Grindelwald and the expansive Jungfrau Region, where Powder Byrne first launched over 40 years ago. With unrivalled local knowledge and deep ties to the resort, our team will guide you through the best terrain, both on and off piste.

We are also thrilled to run this special week in St Christoph, opening up access to the Arlberg ski area in Austria. With its vast off piste options and famously reliable snow conditions, this destination is a natural fit for Powder Byrne, where we have been delivering unforgettable holidays for two decades.

MORE THAN JUST SKIING

These weeks are about so much more than skiing. They are about shared stories over alpine lunches, the quiet thrill of a perfect powder descent, and the ease of knowing every detail is taken care of. You’ll return home with more than just tired legs, you’ll have fresh memories, new skills, and a renewed love for the mountains.

With Powder Byrne, ski touring and off piste becomes more than just a challenge. It becomes a true alpine journey.

Grindelwald: The Heart of Powder Byrne’s Ski Touring and Off Piste Experience

This is a chance to ski as Powder Byrne always intended, with freedom, purpose, and connection to the mountain. Grindelwald’s unique setting, combined with its access to Wengen and Mürren, makes it a gateway to some of the most remarkable skiing in the Alps. Add to that the highest levels of service and comfort, and you have a winter experience that captures everything our Client for Life programme stands for.

Grindelwald is where Powder Byrne began in 1985, and it remains at the heart of our most meaningful ski experiences. Nestled beneath the towering north face of the Eiger, this traditional Swiss village offers far more than just picturesque views. It provides direct access to some of the most varied and exciting terrain in the Alps, making it the perfect base for our ski touring and off piste adventures.

Grindelwald connects effortlessly to Wengen via the Männlichen and Kleine Scheidegg ski areas, opening endless opportunities to explore away from the crowds. On selected days, our guests also venture across to Mürren and the dramatic slopes beneath the Schilthorn, where lift accessed runs and remote descents offer a fresh challenge. With the right conditions, experienced local guides can lead you on routes that trace the valleys and ridgelines that link these iconic resorts, uncovering quiet powder fields and unspoiled backcountry trails along the way.

Our programme is designed for skiers looking for something more than just mileage on groomed pistes. With a balanced mix of Powder Byrne’s on piste guiding and guided off piste days led by qualified mountain experts, this experience combines comfort, exploration, and personal challenge. Whether you are stepping into the backcountry for the first time or returning to find new lines, our approach ensures every day is tailored to the group’s ability, confidence, and energy.

Each morning begins with a relaxed briefing and a plan shaped around the latest weather and snow conditions. There’s no need to check maps or worry about logistics—our guides take care of it all. From reserved lunches at hidden alpine restaurants to seamless transitions between pistes and off piste zones, this is skiing at its most thoughtful and fulfilling.

Evenings in Grindelwald are equally rewarding. You can stay at the luxurious Hotel Bergwelt, where timeless alpine elegance meets modern comfort. The hotel features a state-of-the-art spa, panoramic lounges, and exceptional dining—all just moments from the slopes. Powder Byrne clients benefit from full in-resort support, including a dedicated team and resort shuttle service, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience throughout the week.

St Christoph am Arlberg: Powder Byrne’s Alpine Hideaway for Ski Touring and Off Piste Adventure

StChristoph is one of the hidden treasures of the Arlberg, a small and refined village nestled at 1800 metres in the heart of Austria’s most celebrated ski region. With its high altitude, excellent snow record and direct ski-in and ski-out access to a vast ski area, it is the perfect base for a week of guided skiing, outstanding hospitality and unforgettable off piste experiences with Powder Byrne.

The Arlberg is often referred to as the birthplace of alpine skiing. It offers over 300 kilometres of perfectly maintained pistes and around 200 kilometres of accessible off piste terrain. This range makes it ideal for skiers of all abilities, from those building confidence to seasoned adventurers looking for something more demanding. The modern lift system connects every corner of the region efficiently, so you spend more time skiing and less time waiting.

Each day of the week is carefully designed to make the most of this extraordinary terrain. Your

Powder Byrne guide meets you at your hotel and plans a day that balances exploration with relaxation. Expect beautifully groomed runs, peaceful trails, and well-timed breaks at excellent mountain restaurants. Everything is taken care of, from the route to the lunch booking, allowing you to enjoy the day without distraction.

On selected days, we are joined by local off piste Mountain Guides to explore the wilder side of the Arlberg. These adventures might include lift accessed powder routes from the Valluga peak, peaceful tree skiing through forested valleys or short touring ascents to reach untouched snow. All routes are selected with conditions, ability and confidence in mind, creating an experience that feels personal and rewarding.

St Christoph itself is calm and elegant, offering a welcome contrast to the busier neighbouring resorts. Powder Byrne guests stay at the Hotel Maiensee, known for its direct access to the slopes, comfortable spa, and relaxed alpine charm. After a day on the mountain, you can unwind with a treatment, enjoy a quiet drink in the lounge or join fellow skiers for dinner and stories from the day.

This is skiing at its most enjoyable. With wide open terrain, easy access to both piste and powder, and the expert support of Powder Byrne throughout, your week in St Christoph is defined by freedom, discovery and ease. Whether you are venturing into the world of off piste for the first time or looking to reconnect with the mountains in a meaningful way, this alpine hideaway provides the perfect setting.

FIRST TRACKS Introducing

Little Skiers to a Lifetime of Alpine Joy

There is something truly magical about a child’s first experience in the snow, the crunch underfoot, the gleam of sunlight on fresh powder, and the thrill of sliding for the very first time. At Powder Byrne, we believe those first tracks should be filled with confidence, fun and wonder. That is why we created First Tracks, a specially designed programme for families with young children who are just beginning their skiing journey.

PERFECT TIMING, PEACEFUL SLOPES

Offered outside the traditional school holidays, First Tracks is timed for quieter slopes, calmer snow gardens and uninterrupted access to the best instructors. These weeks offer a unique window where learning is relaxed and playful, and children can take their first steps on skis in a peaceful and encouraging setting.

Our Yeti Primer and pb Crèche services are included, giving parents the peace of mind that their youngest are in expert care, while adults enjoy complimentary ski guiding across our hand selected resorts. It is the perfect introduction to skiing, not just for the children but for the entire family.

TAILORED TO YOU

At the heart of First Tracks is a thoughtful, child-centered approach to give parents the ski experience they deserve. Ahead of your trip, our London-based concierge team will arrange a personal call to learn about your child’s character, interests and experience. This valuable insight is shared with our resort teams and partner ski schools, allowing everyone involved to shape a tailored plan for your child’s introduction to the mountains.

Through gentle games, music, storytelling and imaginative play, our instructors ease children into their equipment and surroundings. The teaching pace is adapted to each child’s enthusiasm and ability, allowing them to build confidence in their own rhythm. With our support, young skiers finish the week excited, capable, and eager for more.

WHILE THEY LEARN, YOU SKI

While your children are taking their first turns, you can explore the quieter side of the Alps. These specially chosen weeks offer some of the best skiing of the season: empty pistes, perfectly groomed snow and calm, uncrowded restaurants. With no rush and no pressure, it is a rare chance to enjoy skiing at its most refined.

Powder Byrne guides are on hand to lead you across the mountain, helping you make the most of every run and every moment. Whether you want to find untouched snow, hidden valleys or sun filled terraces, they know exactly where to go.

No day would be complete without our signature hosted mountain lunches. Throughout the week, we take you to some of the resort’s most exclusive and authentic alpine restaurants. These are places where the chefs come out to greet you, the menus reflect generations of tradition, and the pace of life slows down just enough to savour a glass of wine and a story or two.

A FOUNDATION FOR A LIFELONG LOVE OF SKIING

First Tracks is more than just a skiing programme. It is a gentle, joyful introduction to mountain life that creates treasured family memories and begins a love for skiing that will last a lifetime.

First Tracks in Flims: A Magical Start for Young Skiers in a Breathtaking Alpine Setting

Flims is one of the most enchanting resorts in Switzerland for children to take their first steps on snow. Surrounded by dramatic peaks, peaceful pistes and rich alpine culture, it is the perfect setting for young families to begin their skiing journey with confidence and joy.

Each morning, the Powder Byrne team welcomes children into the exclusive pb crèche with calm, engaging activities. The day is designed to build confidence from the start. As our Yeti Primer children head off to ski lessons, excitement builds and they know they are about to explore the magical Foppa children’s area with the expert instructors of the Ski School.

Just above the village and accessed via the new Flims Express lift, the Foppa slopes sit beneath the iconic Flimserstein mountain, part of a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. These gentle nursery slopes offer a safe and inspiring environment. The professional instructors are warm, creative, and highly skilled, tailoring their approach to each child’s needs and readiness.

Throughout the week, children grow in confidence and develop essential skills. Lunchtimes are a daily highlight, where the Yeti Primers return for a relaxed meal with the younger group, sharing stories and forming friendships.

While the children are on the slopes, parents can explore over 225 kilometers of piste across Flims, Laax and Falera. Powder Byrne ski guides are always on hand to lead the way, helping you discover the best snow, avoid the crowds and enjoy every moment.

Dining in Flims is exceptional. Your guide will introduce you to standout spots like La Vacca,

Das Elephant, Startgels and the rustic Tegia Miez, where local produce and warm hospitality create unforgettable meals.

Families return each evening to Hotel Adula, now part of the Michel Reybier collection. With a 20 meter indoor pool for the children and a relaxing wellness center for adults, it is the ideal base for a luxurious, family-focused holiday.

First Tracks in Andermatt

Andermatt is an exceptional choice for families taking their first steps into the world of skiing. With outstanding facilities for young children and expansive, varied terrain for adults, it offers the ideal blend of comfort, fun and adventure.

Each morning begins with a warm welcome from the Powder Byrne team. Our youngest guests are greeted in the exclusive pb crèche with playful activities, ensuring a smooth and happy start to the day. Meanwhile, older children

prepare for their ski lessons with our handpicked, specialist instructors who are experienced in building confidence and skill in young learners.

At the heart of the Nätschen ski area lies the Matti Children’s Area. This dedicated zone sits right at the middle base of the mountain, making it both accessible and visible. As adults ride the lifts onto the higher slopes, they pass by the cheerful scene of children learning and playing in the snow, offering both reassurance and joy.

The Matti Area is more than just a beginner slope. It includes a vibrant outdoor playground and a cosy indoor retreat that provides a welcome break from the elements. It has been carefully designed with children in mind and transforms a first skiing experience into a positive, memorable moment, made even more special with Powder Byrne’s qualified childcare teams.

Andermatt’s instructors are true professionals. They blend technical expertise with a lighthearted, encouraging style so that by the end of the week, your child will have built a strong foundation of skiing skills and, just as importantly, a genuine love for the sport.

While the children are making progress on the slopes, adults can explore Andermatt’s incredible mountain terrain, making use of the

complimentary adult ski guiding services. The resort caters to all abilities, from relaxed blue runs to steep alpine descents.

For experienced skiers, the Gemsstock is a highlight. Known for its deep snow and dramatic landscape, it offers over 1,500 metres of vertical descent in a single run. The snow is reliably preserved thanks to the mountain’s orientation and altitude. To fully enjoy this off piste paradise, we recommend skiing with one of our partnered qualified local Mountain Guides who can help you discover the safest and most exciting lines.

For those seeking a day of exploration, Powder Byrne’s Ski Safari is the perfect option. You will start with the first lift and ski across valleys, through villages like Sedrun and Disentis, and past alpine landmarks including the source of the Rhine.

After an exhilarating day on the mountain, relax with a scenic train ride back to Andermatt. Your Powder Byrne guide will time your final descent, so you glide effortlessly into the station and end the day in true alpine style.

Return to Tokyo for your flight home or extend your stay with a cultural extension to Kyoto, Japan’s imperial capital, for a complete contrast to your mountain adventure.

Explore the Hidden Slopes of Tohoku: Ski Safari

Join us on a Powder Byrne Ski Safari through Japan’s lesser-known Tohoku region, where pristine powder, crowd-free slopes, and authentic cultural charm await.

Unlike the more familiar resorts of Hokkaido, Tohoku offers a quieter, more local experience but with no compromise on snow quality or terrain. One of the great advantages of skiing in Tohoku is its ease of access. Thanks to Japan’s exceptional bullet train network, there is no need for an internal flight from Tokyo. Simply board the Shinkansen to Koriyama Station (a swift one hour and twenty minutes), followed by a private transfer of just over an hour to your first base. Arrive relaxed and ready to ski.

Your Tohoku Ski Safari begins at Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain, one of the largest ski areas in Japan. This impressive resort spans three interconnected mountains, Mount Bandai, Mount Nekomagadate, and Mount Umaya, offering a vast range of trails, off-piste zones, and spectacular views. Whether you are carving wide-open pistes or exploring untouched powder, your Powder Byrne Japan ski guide will tailor each day to the best conditions and terrain for your group.

After several days on the slopes of Nekoma, continue your journey to Zao Onsen, a legendary ski resort in the heart of Tohoku. Known for its exceptional snow conditions and unique natural features, Zao offers something truly unforgettable. One of its most iconic sights is

the 'Snow Monsters', trees coated in layers of snow and ice, sculpted into surreal shapes by the wind and cold.

Zao’s ski area is vast, with a network of interconnected lifts and trails suitable for confident skiers. A highlight is the Juhyogen slope, one of the longest intermediate runs in Japan, stretching over ten kilometres from the top of the mountain all the way to the heart of the village.

After skiing, unwind in the traditional atmosphere of the Zao Onsen village, famous for its mineral-rich hot springs. Our handpicked accommodation blends comfort and authenticity, and our local team ensures every detail is taken care of, from private transfers to curated dining experiences.

For adventurous and experienced skiers looking to discover a quieter side of Japan with first-class service and guiding, the Powder Byrne Tohoku Ski Safari delivers something truly unique.

Top Tips on Ski Touring by Powder Byrne Japan Mountain Guide

Venturing beyond the groomed runs into off piste terrain or ski touring can be both exciting and a little daunting for first timers. That is why we asked Tsutomu Yoshikawa, our expert mountain guide in Japan, to share his top tips for beginners.

With years of experience guiding Powder Byrne guests through Japan’s famous powder-filled landscapes, Tsutomu brings a calm and encouraging approach that helps new skiers discover the joy of exploring off piste.

Whether you are preparing for your first Powder Byrne Off Piste and Ski Touring week or simply curious about skiing beyond the marked trails, Tsutomu’s insights will help you feel more confident and inspired.

1. EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF JAPOW

Japan’s powder snow, affectionately known as Japow, is famous for a reason. Thanks to cold Siberian winds blowing across the Sea of Japan, the snow is incredibly dry, light and deep. Skiing through it is like gliding through silk. For beginners, this means a much softer surface that makes turning and stopping easier and falls much less intimidating. It is nature’s perfect learning environment.

2. USE THE RIGHT SKIS FOR DEEP SNOW

In deep snow, standard piste skis can make you sink and struggle to turn. Wider skis, often called powder skis, give you extra surface area so you can float on top of the snow. This makes each turn feel smooth and stable, even at lower speeds. You may hear people say, “It feels like gliding on clouds,” and that sensation is one of the most memorable parts of your first powder day.

3. ENJOY THE THRILL OF TREE SKIING

Unlike many Alpine resorts where tree skiing is limited or off limits, Japan offers large areas of beautifully spaced forests that are perfect for skiing. Navigating between the trees adds an

exciting sense of adventure, and the natural shelter often means better visibility and even deeper snow. For me, tree skiing is not just a challenge, it is a way to feel immersed in the landscape.

4. DISCOVER THE FREEDOM OF THE BACKCOUNTRY

One of the biggest differences in off piste skiing is the freedom it offers. You are no longer following tracks laid out by the resort, you are creating your own path. Whether you are weaving through untouched bowls or choosing a line through the trees, the sense of independence is incredibly rewarding. Many skiers say this feeling is what keeps them coming back for more.

5.

EMBRACE THE UNKNOWN

Trying new terrain is one of the most exciting parts of off piste skiing. Every route brings a sense of discovery, from hidden glades to wide open bowls. But going with a qualified guide is key. They not only know where the best snow is on any given day, but also keeps you safe, informed and inspired as you gradually explore more challenging terrain.

6. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EASY LIFT ACCESS

One of the unique aspects of off piste skiing in Japan is the access. Many incredible powder zones are reached entirely by ski lifts, meaning you can enjoy the thrill of untouched snow without long hikes or climbs. It is the perfect setup for beginners, allowing you to conserve energy and focus on learning the techniques of deep snow skiing.

7. GO AT YOUR OWN PACE

Off piste skiing does not have to be an all-day commitment. In many areas, powder stashes sit just off the side of the groomed runs. This makes it easy to try a few turns in fresh snow and then return to the piste whenever you like. It is a relaxed way to develop skills and confidence without feeling overwhelmed.

8. FALLING IS PART OF THE FUN

Falling is a natural part of learning, and in deep powder it can be enjoyable. The snow cushions your landings, so you can laugh it off and try again. “You just get up, brush yourself off and keep going,” I always say. This forgiving environment encourages experimentation and builds resilience in a playful way.

READY TO BEGIN YOUR OFF PISTE ADVENTURE?

Whether in Japan or at one of our handpicked European resorts, off piste skiing with an experienced guide like Tsutomu opens up a new world of freedom, discovery and fresh tracksalways with Powder Byrne’s signature support.

It is the ideal destination for a sophisticated long weekend with friends or a quick sunshine escape with a difference.

Once your ski boots are off, your journey continues with a seamless private transfer to Polo Valley, our exclusive polo club nestled near Sotogrande. In just a few hours, you will find yourself surrounded by palm trees, blue skies, and world-class equestrian facilities.

Polo Valley is not just a polo destination; it is a private retreat with a focus on wellness, learning, and exceptional hospitality. Whether you are completely new to the sport or an experienced rider preparing for the season ahead, our professional trainers will tailor each session to your level and goals. Learn the rules of the game, perfect your swing, and build confidence with personalised one-on-one coaching.

You will stay at the private Finca, a beautifully restored countryside residence with spacious bedrooms, a pool, peaceful grounds, and daily breakfast served on the terrace. Enjoy direct access to the stables and polo grounds, morning

walks by the lake, and time to simply relax and reset under the Spanish sun.

This experience can also be tailored to begin with skiing in the Swiss Alps, making it the ultimate dual-destination holiday. A short international flight from Switzerland to Gibraltar or Malaga connects the two experiences with ease.

Powder Byrne ski guide jumping 1989

Step into the heart of the Jungfrau region with Powder Byrne’s adult-only Season Exclusive ski week, set in the iconic Swiss villages of Grindelwald and Mürren. Whether you're looking to enjoy guided skiing or challenge yourself in the legendary Inferno Race, this unique experience blends luxury, adventure, heritage and alpine spirit.

GRINDELWALD: WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Grindelwald is where Powder Byrne launched in 1985, and it remains a destination that truly reflects our ethos. Framed by the dramatic north face of the Eiger, this traditional alpine village offers quick access to high altitude skiing via modern lift connections, taking guests to freshly groomed pistes and powder terrain in under 20 minutes.

This exclusive week is built around our renowned Powder Byrne ski guiding service, where every detail is taken care of, from the daily plans to mountain restaurant reservations. Ski in hosted groups and discover the region’s finest pistes

and hidden corners. Highlight lunches are arranged at charming, lesser-known mountain restaurants, and for those seeking a challenge, guided ski touring or off piste experiences with local experts may be available, depending on conditions.

MÜRREN & THE INFERNO RACE: SKI HISTORY MEETS THRILL

At the end of the week, the experience shifts to the alpine jewel that is Mürren, not far from Grindelwald, and a great new ski area to explore. This is where Powder Byrne guests can choose to optionally participate in the International Inferno Race, the world’s largest amateur alpine downhill race, first run in 1928 by a group of “Ski-Crazy” Brits.

The Inferno Race now challenges up to 1,850 skilled amateurs on a dramatic 14.9 km course descending from just under the Kleine Schilthorn (approx. 2,970 m) to Lauterbrunnen (approx. 800 m), with a vertical drop of around 2,170 m. Designed for all-round skiers, the course demands strong turn technique, endurance and nerve, featuring different terrains throughout the race. Winning times hover under 15 minutes, while amateurs typically finish in a comfortable 20 minutes.

SUPPORT AND ATMOSPHERE

Powder Byrne supports participants throughout the Inferno experience. From race entry and logistics to optional prep and on-site tips and advice, our team ensures a seamless and stress-free race day. Those not racing will still enjoy the incredible energy in Mürren during Inferno week, with live music, festive parades and the lively post-race celebrations.

Space for this special event is limited, and Powder Byrne is proud to bring together a group of enthusiastic guests to take part in a special edition of this iconic race.

THE ESSENCE OF THE WEEK

This Powder Byrne exclusive offers a rare blend of elements: the refinement of hosted skiing in Grindelwald, the heritage and thrill of the Inferno, and the comfort of our signature service throughout. It is a week designed for adults who love to ski with purpose, passion and a sense of adventure.

Rediscovering the Joy of Family Skiing

Asmy husband, two daughters and I discovered over the course of the February half-term, family skiing will never be the same after a Powder Byrne holiday. It started with a warm greeting at the private check-in at Heathrow airport for the dedicated Powder Byrne private flight to Zürich and continued with the daily provision of sunscreen, snacks and encouragement for children (and adults) in Flims. Quite simply, it was the most seamless and funpacked family holiday we have enjoyed.

It wasn't just the luxury that made it all so dreamy (although the charming Hotel Adula, private ski guiding and on-call shuttle service certainly delivered that in spades), it was the unfailing friendliness and eagerness to help of each member of the Powder Byrne team. From playing peekaboo with our shy three-year-old to arranging a moon-lit treasure hunt for all the kids while my husband and I enjoyed a rare romantic dinner together, no effort was spared to help each of us flourish in our own ways.

We left Flims revitalised, nourished by memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime. We were also left enriched by an enduring friendship with another family, forged across the generations thanks to the freedom granted to us all by Powder Byrne.

Testimonial from Gabriella Le Breton, an expert travel writer regularly published in The Daily Telegraph, Financial Times and The Times. She travelled with Powder Byrne to Flims during February peak season.

Wehave just returned from a family ski holiday with friends of ours with Powder Byrne and it was without doubt one of the most memorable and enjoyable trips we have ever had in the mountains.

The Powder Byrne service was exceptional with brilliant attention to detail from start to finish. They helped us choose the perfect resort based on our group’s abilities and preferences and every detail was clearly communicated well in advance. The team was always easy to reach before the trip and all the logistics including flights, transfers, lift passes and equipment hire were handled seamlessly, allowing us to focus on enjoying the holiday from the moment we set off.

One of the true highlights was having our dedicated Powder Byrne ski guide Jeff. This made an enormous difference to me personally as I felt completely relaxed knowing we did not have to find our way around the mountains each day. Jeff was professional, approachable and incredibly knowledgeable about the resort. He ensured we made the very most of our time on the slopes, guiding us to the best snow conditions each day and securing us the best tables in the finest mountain restaurants.

Equally impressive was the childcare service without which the trip simply would not have been the same. Our eldest joined the Yeti

programme and it was amazing to see something just click midweek when they started skiing solo. They made new friends, loved every minute and returned each evening happily exhausted. Our youngest joined the Yeti Primer which was a wonderful introduction for three year olds, combining a gentle morning on the slopes with their big brother followed by afternoons in the pb crèche cared for by a dedicated member of staff who looked after their every need. The ski instructors and carers were warm, attentive and clearly passionate about what they do.

In the evenings the children enjoyed Yeti Suppers together which gave us parents the chance to relax, share stories from the day and even enjoy a few evenings out thanks to the babysitting service complete with a little après ski of our own.

We left with huge smiles, tired legs and wonderful memories. It is safe to say we would not hesitate to take another Powder Byrne holiday year after year.

Thank you again and see you soon

The Manley Family

Whenyou travel with Powder Byrne, our Private Nanny service offers the highest level of tailored care for young children. It is flexible, intuitive, and completely shaped around your family’s preferences. Whether you need full support throughout the day or just a few carefully planned hours to relax and recharge, our private nannies adapt with ease.

You will begin with a call from our concierge team who will listen carefully to your needs and priorities. Together, we will create a bespoke plan that gives your children a joyful, enriching experience while giving you the freedom to relax and enjoy your holiday at your own pace.

Some parents choose to have their nanny accompany the family to the slopes, sharing special moments on the mountain before stepping back to give space. Others use the time for younger children to enjoy quieter afternoons in the village, visiting a farm or simply exploring a snowy forest path. We can even include elements of your child’s school curriculum, if they are working on a reading list or a project, our nannies are happy to incorporate learning into the week in a gentle, engaging way.

Evenings can also be supported. Whether it is helping at the table during a family supper or taking the younger ones back to bed while you enjoy a relaxed game of cards or a deeper conversation with older children, your nanny becomes a natural extension of your family’s rhythm.

Our nannies are experienced childcare professionals. They are chosen for their warmth, creativity, and ability to intuitively connect with children. Their goal is not only to support your child’s needs but to become a trusted, friendly face, someone your child genuinely looks forward to spending time with.

For our youngest guests, the pb Crèche is a space of warmth, calm, and joyful discovery. Run by expert early years practitioners, each day is filled with thoughtfully planned activities that reflect the rhythm of the mountains while supporting every child’s social and emotional development.

Children are gently introduced to the alpine world in a way that is entirely age appropriate. Simply exploring ski clothing, touching snow for the first time, or listening to stories about the mountains builds their awareness and confidence. Snow-based games, creative crafts, group activities and nature walks all help spark their curiosity and lay the foundation for future skiing adventures.

The crèche is more than a childcare service; it is a vibrant and caring community. Powder Byrne team members love to drop in and share their passions. One day a driver might help run a mini football session in the snow. Another day a mountain guide might take the children on a short, enchanting nature walk to collect pine cones and animal tracks.

Felicity was a fantastic nanny - by far the best we have had. She brought such calm, warmth, and creativity into each day, and our daughter absolutely adored her. We felt so reassured and supported all week.

Yeti Primer: A Perfect Introduction to the Slopes

Yeti Primer is our carefully designed ski programme for young children who are ready to begin their skiing journey while still enjoying the comfort of afternoons in the pb Crèche.

Each morning, children are welcomed into the pb Crèche, where they may enjoy a quick game before getting ready to head out. We encourage independence as they learn to put on their ski clothing, supported by our friendly team. Soon, the group of Yeti Primers is ready to head for the slopes.

Our trusted local ski schools provide expert instructors who are experienced in introducing young children to skiing. Lessons are playful and engaging, using games and songs to build confidence and create joyful memories. The focus is on sparking curiosity and laying the foundations for a lifelong love of skiing.

Throughout the lesson, a familiar face from the Powder Byrne Crèche team remains nearby, offering reassurance and comfort in what can be an exciting but unfamiliar experience.

After their lesson, the Yeti Primers return to the pb Crèche for a hearty lunch prepared by our trusted hotel partners. Back at the table, they share stories of their mountain adventures with their pb Crèche friends, sparking imagination and laughter. Powder Byrne staff are on hand to support and engage in these fun-filled conversations.

Afternoons are designed to be calm, creative, and developmental. Children from the pb Crèche and Yeti Primer programmes come together for thoughtful activities that support character and confidence building. These sessions are carefully planned by our qualified staff and align with the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage and the children thrive on social interaction, imaginative play, and creative exploration.

In the evenings, while parents enjoy some welldeserved time to relax, our exclusive Powder Byrne babysitting service is available and managed by our trusted pb Crèche team. Children are delighted to be reunited with a familiar face from their day.

Yeti Primer offers the perfect blend of comfort and adventure. By the end of the week, our Primers are not only intrigued by skiing but have developed essential skills to begin their journey on the snow with confidence.

Yeti Club: Our Famous Alpine Adventure for Young Skiers

A CHILD’S VIEW

“I love going to Yeti Club every morning. Lauren and Mike were really kind and helped me with my ski boots, and we played games before we went out skiing. My instructor was really funny, and I made loads of new friends. Lunch was my favourite and we got hot chocolate and laughed about our morning skiing. I didn’t want the week to end!”

This simple but heartfelt comment captures the spirit of what makes the Yeti Club so special. For children like Bella, Powder Byrne is more than a ski holiday - it is a place of warmth, smiles, and unforgettable memories. From the moment children arrive, they are welcomed into a joyful and nurturing environment that sparks confidence and excitement from day one.

DESIGNED FOR 4 TO 9-YEAR-OLDS

The Powder Byrne Yeti Club has been a cornerstone of our children’s ski offering for over 30 years. Exclusively available in Powder Byrne resorts, the Yeti Club is crafted for young skiers aged 4 to 9. Every element of the programme is designed with a simple guiding question in mind: What is best for the children in our care?

This child-first approach lies at the heart of everything we do, creating a purposeful, joyful and expertly delivered experience. Over the course of the week, children develop not only technical skills but also confidence, resilience and a genuine love for skiing.

SUPPORT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY

Each day begins with ski school, where children are accompanied by their dedicated Yeti Assistant. These specially trained team members offer emotional support, praise and encouragement throughout the day. Whether a child is racing down a slope or taking cautious

steps, their assistant is by their side, ensuring they feel safe and celebrated.

Lunchtimes are spent in carefully selected mountain restaurants, chosen for their welcoming atmosphere and family-friendly food. Meals are not just about refuelling – they are an opportunity for conversation, laughter and bonding with new friends.

EVENING MAGIC

After a day on the slopes, the magic continues. Yeti Suppers offer a calm and reflective setting where children and staff share stories and look ahead to the next day’s adventures. On selected evenings, the fun is extended with creative and active activities such as biscuit making, snowman building or simple team games, giving the children even more time to connect and play in a relaxed setting.

A CONSISTENT EXPERIENCE ACROSS RESORTS

One of the strengths of the Yeti Club is the consistent structure it provides across all Powder Byrne resorts. Children benefit from familiar routines, clear expectations and a supportive learning environment, no matter the destination.

Our unique, universal grading system is aligned with all of our partner ski schools. This means every child’s progress is carefully tracked and recorded, ensuring a smooth transition if you visit a new resort the following year. Whether your child skis in Zermatt, San Cassiano or Flims, their new instructor will have access to their history and can continue their learning journey without missing a step.

GROWING IN SKILL AND SPIRIT

At the end of the week, the sense of achievement is palpable. Children proudly collect their medals, pose for photos and often cannot wait to return. Watching their transformation, from nervous beginners to confident skiers, is a joy shared by parents, instructors and our Yeti team alike.

The Yeti Club is more than a ski programme. It is a place where young skiers discover the mountain, develop friendships and fall in love with the joy of skiing.

SnoZone: The Next Step in Your Child’s Skiing Journey

“The children's programmes were the highlight of our trip. My daughter returned with so much more confidence and independence on the slopes. The instructors and SnoZone Manager made her feel completely at ease, and the personal attention she received was outstanding. The team truly went the extra mile every day, and the difference in her skiing by the end of the week was amazing to see."

For families who have enjoyed the magic of our Yeti Primer and Yeti programmes, SnoZone represents an exciting new chapter. Designed for confident red run skiers aged ten to fourteen, SnoZone offers the perfect blend of expert tuition, growing independence, and all the fun that makes a Powder Byrne ski holiday so special. It is the ideal progression for young skiers who are ready for more challenge and adventure.

EXPERT INSTRUCTION WITH A SENSE OF FREEDOM

Each SnoZone group is led by a qualified ski instructor and supported by a dedicated SnoZone Manager who ensures the daily experience runs smoothly. The focus is on developing skiing skills in a fun, dynamic environment while allowing children a greater sense of autonomy. This is a big step forward from the structure of our younger programmes, offering children the freedom to explore more of the mountain while remaining in expert hands.

SnoZone provides an environment where young skiers can push themselves, enjoy time with peers, and take pride in their growing confidence on the slopes. It feels more mature, more adventurous, and incredibly rewarding.

A TYPICAL SNOZONE DAY

Each morning begins in the boot room, where a Powder Byrne team member welcomes the group and helps them prepare for the day. Children are then transferred to meet their ski instructor, who leads the group on a full day of

skiing across the resort. The emphasis is on progression and confidence building, with opportunities to explore varied terrain and try new techniques.

Lunch is enjoyed at carefully selected mountain restaurants that are always a hit with this age group. Whether it is Penne Vorab on the Flims glacier or Spare Ribs at Hörnli Hütte in Arosa, mealtime is about refuelling, relaxing, and sharing stories from the morning.

After skiing, children return to the hotel around four in the afternoon. Many head straight to the pool or games room, where they unwind and enjoy time with the new friends they have made throughout the week. This social time is a cherished part of the SnoZone experience, helping to build friendships and memories that last well beyond the holiday.

EVENING ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND FREEDOM FOR PARENTS

Twice a week, SnoZone offers early evening activities designed to give children more time together while parents enjoy a relaxing evening of their own. Whether it is a quiet dinner for two, a visit to the spa, or simply a moment to unwind, parents can enjoy their evening knowing their children are still having fun.

Activities vary by resort but often include pizza nights, ice skating, curling, ninja warrior sessions, or bowling. These events are always age appropriate, full of energy, and carefully managed by our experienced Powder Byrne staff.

WHY FAMILIES LOVE SNOZONE

SnoZone delivers the perfect combination of expert instruction and exhilarating freedom. Children develop their skills in a professional environment while enjoying a fun and sociable holiday experience. At the same time, parents can relax, knowing that their children are well cared for, active, and happy from morning to evening. If your child is ready for more skiing, more freedom, and more fun, SnoZone is the natural next step.

Skiing is a lifelong journey of challenge, growth, and discovery. Even for experienced skiers, there is always more to learn, more techniques to master, and new terrain to explore. At Powder Byrne, we believe that the beauty of skiing lies in its endless potential to evolve.

The Powder Byrne Ski Academy is designed for confident and advanced teenage skiers aged 14 to 17 who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Tailored for those who have already mastered the fundamentals, the academy offers a high-level, hands-on experience combining expert coaching with variety, challenge, and fun.

A COMPLETE SKIING EXPERIENCE

Participants are immersed in a dynamic programme that encourages them to sharpen their technique and expand into new areas of the sport. From advanced on-piste carving and race training to freestyle elements, variable terrain, and off-piste skiing, the academy delivers a complete and exciting skiing education.

This is not just about improvement. It is about discovering new passions, building confidence, and redefining what is possible on the mountain.

TRAINING GROUND: THE MOUNTAIN

A key strength of the academy is its adaptability to the terrain and personality of each host resort. Whether carving arcs on perfect groomers or tackling steeper, more technical off-piste descents, the mountain becomes an extension of the learning environment. Each day offers fresh opportunities to develop in real-world conditions.

EXPERT COACHING, SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT

Led by highly qualified instructors and supported by Powder Byrne coordinators, the Ski Academy strikes a balance between intensive training and an enjoyable, social atmosphere. It is a motivating and empowering experience for passionate teens who want to refine their skiing in a professional and supportive setting.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF ALPINE SKIING

Downhill: This discipline emphasizes speed, courage, risk, physical condition, technique, and judgment. It’s the fastest and most thrilling type of alpine skiing.

Super-G (Super Giant Slalom): The fastest discipline after downhill, Super-G involves a shorter, more technically demanding course.

Giant Slalom: Skiers use longer skis than in slalom but shorter than in downhill or Super-G. This discipline typically involves two runs on different courses.

Slalom: Involves skiing through closely spaced poles called gates. It’s known for its quick turns and technical demands.

Parallel: Skiers compete simultaneously on two identical courses set side by side, adding a competitive edge.

Combined: This discipline includes a downhill round followed by a slalom round on the same day, combining speed and technique for a comprehensive challenge.

OFF-PISTE SKIING

Off-piste, or backcountry skiing, takes place beyond the groomed slopes. It involves navigating untouched terrain, powder, moguls, and natural obstacles. This type of skiing requires strong technique and sharp awareness and offers a raw, thrilling experience for advanced skiers seeking adventure.

FREESTYLE SKIING

Freestyle encourages creativity and expression on skis. Often practised in snow parks, it includes tricks, jumps, rails, and skiing switch (backwards). It is fast-moving, energetic, and a great way for teens to push the boundaries of traditional skiing.

The Powder Byrne Ski Academy is more than a skills clinic. It is a complete alpine experience. By combining high-level coaching, exposure to diverse disciplines, and a supportive social setting, it offers a well-rounded programme that teens will remember long after the snow melts.

Teenage Ski Guiding: For Teens Who Want More from Their Ski Holiday

Aschildren grow into teenagers, their expectations from a ski holiday naturally evolve. What once revolved around ski school, snowball fights, and hot chocolate breaks begins to shift. By the time they reach the age of 16 or older, many teens are confident and capable on the slopes. They are no longer looking for lessons or gentle family ski runs. Instead, they seek independence, excitement, and connection with others their own age. At the same time, they may not be ready or may simply not want to head off on their own.

That is where Powder Byrne’s Teenage Guiding Programme steps in.

Created for young adults aged 16 to 19, this unique experience offers the ideal combination of freedom and

structure. It allows teens to explore the mountains in a more independent and adventurous way, while still benefiting from the support and safety of experienced local ski professionals. It is the perfect fit for those ready to move beyond family skiing and ski school, but who still value the reassurance of guided support and a fun social group.

A FRESH APPROACH TO THE MOUNTAINS

Each morning begins with a friendly and relaxed meet up. A qualified local ski guide, alongside a Powder Byrne coordinator, spends time getting to know the group. They talk through skiing abilities, personal interests, and what each person hopes to get out of the day. Whether that means carving through wide open pistes, tackling more challenging runs, or taking in the best views, every day is shaped around the group’s preferences.

This is not a formal lesson or a strict schedule. It is a flexible, exciting way to ski, focused on enjoyment, exploration, and making the most of the mountain. The guide finds the best snow, avoids crowded areas, and adds special touches like scenic photo stops or a hot chocolate break at a quiet spot.

MORE THAN JUST SKIING

The experience continues off the slopes. Lunchtimes are a social highlight, with the group enjoying authentic mountain food hosted by the guide. It is a step up from earlier ski holidays, with teens trying regional specialities such as the Big A Burger at Sitt Hütte in Arosa, traditional Rösti at Piz Calmot in Andermatt, or Penne alla Bioch in San Cassiano.

After skiing, teens return to their hotel to relax, whether that means time in the spa, a quiet moment before dinner, or connecting with friends. Twice a week, Powder Byrne hosts evening socials. These might include curling, ice skating, informal dinners, or quiz nights, all designed to bring the group together in a relaxed and age-appropriate way.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

The Teenage Guiding Programme offers teens the chance to enjoy their ski holiday on their own terms. They build confidence, explore new terrain, and connect with others in a supportive and engaging environment.

At the same time, parents can relax knowing their teenagers are being looked after by professionals who prioritise safety, fun, and flexibility.

It is the ultimate win for families. Freedom for teens, peace of mind for parents, and unforgettable memories for everyone.

Top Tips from the GB Racing Pros: Insights and Advice from Britain’s Leading Alpine Athletes

AtPowder Byrne, we’re committed to supporting the next generation of skiing talent and sharing our love of the mountains in a way that’s inspiring, accessible and real. That’s why we’re proud to present Top Tips from the Pros, a special series featuring insights from three of Great Britain’s most exciting young alpine athletes: Elsa Powell Dooley, David Christey and Molly Butler.

Each has taken a unique path, from school race trips and family holidays to FIS and Europa Cup start lines and international podiums, experiences that reveal the highs, setbacks and determination needed to succeed in one of the world’s most demanding sports.

With a practical focus, the series offers tips you can genuinely use, whether you’re an aspiring racer, a holiday skier or simply love the mountains. From carving techniques and mindset to strength training and video review, Elsa, David and Molly share the lessons that keep them improving and motivated. As they prepare for a new season, they’ll take you behind the scenes; from intense training to fine-tuning every ski, and share the realities of chasing Winter Olympic qualification.

"I truly believe when looking at the next generation of skiers we could be looking at the best generation of British skiers our country has ever seen. The talent, drive, and professionalism these young athletes bring to the sport is remarkable. They’re raising the standard for what’s possible in British ski racing for their age. With their passion, work ethic, and hunger to improve, the future of our sport is incredibly exciting. I will of course be looking to help where I can and stay involved in the sport to help nurture this talent and follow the journey."

Dave Ryding is widely regarded as the greatest British alpine ski racer, having competed in his fifth Winter Olympics this season and seven World Championships - a testament to his remarkable endurance at the sport’s highest level.

From his 2013 Europa Cup Slalom Series victory to his sensational 2022 Kitzbühel World Cup triumph, where he became the first British skier ever to win a World Cup race, Ryding’s career is one of persistence, passion, and recordbreaking achievement.

Elsa Powell Dooley is a former alpine ski racer from Brighton who discovered her passion for the sport at the age of 15 during a school ski trip. With no background in racing and no idea what a giant slalom gate was, she quickly found herself drawn to the speed, challenge and freedom that skiing offered.

By 18, she committed to the sport full time, training in the Alps and competing across Europe. Despite starting later than most, Elsa’s determination and love for the mountains carried her through the highs and lows of competitive racing, leading to her first international podium finish in 2024.

That same year, she stepped away from racing to launch Fall Liners, a YouTube documentary series following Britain’s next generation of ski racers, Molly Butler and David Christey. The series offers a raw and honest look at the realities of alpine skiing, from early morning van journeys and funding gaps to the fight for FIS points and Olympic dreams. With over two million views, Fall Liners is helping to open up the world of racing to new fans and future athletes.

TIP 1: GET THERE WHEN THE LIFTS OPEN

It might sound obvious, but arriving early makes a huge difference. Freshly groomed pistes are perfect for feeling your edges and trusting your skis. Carving on smooth, untouched snow is way easier than battling chopped-up runs later in the day.

TIP 2: BLUE RUNS ARE UNDERRATED

We all love the thrill of leg-burning black slopes, but stepping back to basics often helps you improve faster. Blue runs are perfect for smooth, controlled carving. Nail your stance, balance and rhythm here before adding gradient.

TIP 3: GET FRIENDS OR FAMILY TO FILM YOU SKIING

Ask someone to take a quick 20-second clip. Watching yourself is one of the best ways to spot what is holding you back. Then grab a hot chocolate, review the footage and - bonus tipcompare with pro clips online.

TIP 4: KEEP LEARNING

Carving is a craft that takes years to master. A good instructor will spot bad habits early and help refine your technique. Trust me, regular lessons and leg strength from the gym will speed up your journey to becoming the carving demon you dream of.

David Christey started skiing trying to keep up with his older brother and cousins on family holidays. One of his earliest memories is standing on the baby slope while the others came over to say hello - before heading off to more exciting runs. From the very beginning, skiing meant one thing to David: speed.

What started as chasing family soon became chasing podiums. After years of dedication and setbacks, David now competes at the highest level on the international FIS circuit, with his eyes set firmly on the World Cup.

This past season marked a breakthrough; his first Europa Cup starts and a big leap in world rankings. But what means most to him is the journey: building his performance with a small, loyal team, including the same coach who first saw his potential when he was just eleven years old.

David is open about the realities of being a British athlete in a sport dominated by betterfunded nations. Underdog stories, he says, are what make sport magical.

TIP 1: GO FAST

It sounds obvious, but especially when you're starting out - just enjoy going fast. Racing gets super technical really quickly, so make sure you hang on to that thrill.

TIP 2: WATCH BETTER SKIERS

Yes, film yourself, but also study World Cup athletes who are similar to you in size or style. Watch what they do well - it helps more than focusing only on your own mistakes.

TIP 3: CELEBRATE THE SMALL WINS

Ski racing is tough, especially as a Brit. When something goes right, take a moment to appreciate it. Progress is progress, and those wins keep you going. I am still learning that one myself.

MOLLY BUTLER

Molly Butler had skis on her feet before she was two years old, tottering around on plastic skis in the French Alps, where her parents worked. Growing up surrounded by mountain life, she joined the local Ski Club de Saint Gervais - and that is where her love for ski racing began.

One moment stands out: winning a race at age twelve, where the prize was a helmet once worn by French World Champion Tessa Worley. That day, the Olympic dream took hold, and skiing became the thing that made her tick.

Since then, Molly has trained and raced across Europe and is now one of two female athletes on the GB Europa Cup squad. Self-funded and fiercely determined, she is building her career through grit, passion and belief in what is possible.

Her goal this season is to deliver consistent Europa Cup results, climb the world rankings, and take another step toward Olympic selection.

Carve to Cruise:

For Confident

Teens

who Want to Ski Hard and Soak it all in

For years, Powder Byrne has successfully run high-energy ski academies for teens eager to push their skiing to the next level. More recently, we introduced teenage guiding for those wanting a more relaxed approach to the slopes. But what about teens who want both? Who love to ski well, improve their technique, and still enjoy a bit of freedom and time to take in the views?

That is exactly where our Carve to Cruise Programme comes in. Launched in Andermatt to great success, it offers the best of both worlds.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Designed for confident skiers aged 15 to 19, Carve to Cruise is ideal for teens who are comfortable on red runs and ready to refine their technique. It combines skill development with the freedom to explore, while building friendships with like-minded peers in a fun and supportive setting. With tips from the top professionals, guest speakers and skiers.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

The programme runs across five inspiring days, blending technical instruction with mountain exploration:

MORNING MASTERY

Each day begins with a two-hour focused training session led by a qualified instructor. Teens work on advanced skills such as short turns, carving, control on mixed terrain, and creative skiing styles, all tailored to their ability.

AFTERNOON ADVENTURES

After lunch, it is time to cruise. Teens explore some of the mountain’s most scenic and exciting

terrain, applying what they have learned earlier in the day while enjoying the rhythm and freedom of group skiing.

LUNCH WITH A VIEW

Midday breaks take place in carefully chosen mountain restaurants, giving the group time to relax, refuel, and enjoy great food in a spectacular setting.

WHY TEENS WILL LOVE IT?

Carve to Cruise is about more than just technique. It is about growing confidence, building friendships, and creating lasting memories. The blend of focused skill-building with time to enjoy the mountain makes this a well-rounded, rewarding experience.

PARENTS’ PEACE OF MIND

Led by experienced instructors under Powder Byrne’s trusted framework, the Carve to Cruise Programme ensures your teen is in safe hands. Every aspect is carefully managed to provide challenge, structure, and fun, so parents can relax knowing their teenagers are improving their skiing while enjoying every minute on and off the slopes.

Train With Us: Piste to Profession

A gap year is a chance to explore new horizons and develop valuable life skills. Since 2012, Powder Byrne’s Piste to Profession programme has given young adults aged 18 to 23 the opportunity to do just that, while training in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

This nine week course, running from late December to early March, is designed for those who want to take their skiing to the next level. Participants live, train and explore as a mountain professional would, combining expert instruction with personal development and insight into the ski industry. Graduates can achieve internationally recognised ski instructor qualifications, first aid certification and hands on snow sports experience.

The programme goes beyond technical training, building independence, resilience, and confidence. Participants meet like minded people from across the globe, forming friendships that last long after the snow has melted.

Many arrive already confident on skis, but Piste to Profession helps them refine technique, master mountain safety and adopt a

professional approach to the sport. The schedule fits easily into a gap year, leaving time for autumn and summer travel, work, or study. It is ideal for those seeking a purposeful and rewarding break before university or a career.

With over 40 years of skiing expertise, Powder Byrne offers reassurance for both students and parents. Graduates leave with skills that enhance any CV, from teamwork and leadership to problem solving under pressure.

Whether you are looking for a first step into the ski industry, an unforgettable adventure, or the chance to sharpen your skills in a world class alpine setting, Piste to Profession offers the perfect starting point and a lifelong connection to the mountains.

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Piste to Profession programme and being part of Powder Byrne. I cannot stress enough how incredible I have found the whole experience, it has honestly been the best two months of my life and I would really like to thank you and the rest of the Powder Byrne staff for organising such an amazing course. Thank you for all your support and to the whole team for making it an unforgettable experience.

Ski Guiding With Powder Byrne: Personal Service and Perfect Runs

At Powder Byrne, we believe that a truly exceptional ski holiday is about more than just perfect snow conditions. It is about smooth experiences, thoughtful service, and having someone by your side who knows the mountains inside and out. That is exactly what our ski guiding service offers.

Our guides are not ski instructors, but expert hosts who personalise every day on the slopes to your preferences, pace, and confidence level. Whether you are a relaxed cruiser, a seasoned skier, or someone rediscovering skiing after time away, your guide ensures you get the best from your holiday without the pressure of route planning or timekeeping.

WE EVEN CARRY YOUR SKIS!

Each morning begins with a warm greeting from your guide at your hotel. From carrying skis to adapting the day’s plan to match weather, snow conditions and the group’s energy, every detail is taken care of. Groups are carefully matched to ensure similar skiing abilities and styles, creating a relaxed and sociable experience where no one feels left behind or held back.

Our guides know every corner of the resort. They will lead you down perfectly groomed pistes, avoid the lift queues, and reveal hidden panoramic viewpoints that you might never discover on your own. And when lunchtime comes, they have already secured a table at one of the best mountain restaurants, the places where the food, the atmosphere and the views combine into a highlight of the day.

For families, ski guiding brings a perfect balance. While children are busy with our much-loved Yeti or SnoZone programmes, parents can enjoy uninterrupted time on the mountain, with all logistics synced for seamless transitions. It is ski guiding designed with your whole family in mind.

Our guides return year after year, building genuine relationships with clients. They remember your favourite run, the restaurant you loved last time, and even how you take your coffee at lunch. Their combination of passion, professionalism, and friendly approach brings a reassuring rhythm to your holiday.

Ski guiding with Powder Byrne blends the freedom of independent skiing with the ease and insight of a trusted companion. It is how we elevate a great ski day into something truly memorable.

Henry was absolutely fantastic. From the first morning, he made everything feel smooth and relaxed. He was not only a brilliant guide but also a lovely person to talk to throughout the day. His attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and enthusiasm made our time on the slopes completely stress-free.

Hamza and Kitty were outstanding. They were incredibly organised and adapted our skiing plans every day to suit the weather and the group’s energy. Their local knowledge was brilliant, and they even found us a hidden mountain hut that served the best fondue of the trip.

Mountain Host: How to Explore the Mountain as a Non-Skier

If you dream of retreating to the serene beauty of the mountains without strapping on skis, our exclusive Mountain Host programme is designed with you in mind. Ideal for non-skiers and casual skiers alike, this carefully curated experience ensures your alpine holiday is as enriching, engaging, and restorative as any day spent on the slopes.

Available during select weeks in our handpicked resorts, the programme is led by our experienced in-resort Mountain Host. Over five thoughtfully planned days, you’ll enjoy a blend of gentle adventure, local culture, and relaxation, tailored to your pace and preferences.

Our Mountain Hosts are passionate about showcasing the hidden gems of their regions. Under their guidance, you might find yourself hiking through quiet forest trails to a snowcovered lake, snowshoeing across open fields, enjoying a friendly curling match, or trying your hand at cross-country skiing. Each day includes hosted lunches in charming mountain restaurants, offering the chance to unwind and take in the views.

With the support of our trusted resort partners, every activity is chosen to reflect both the natural beauty of the area and your personal interests. From scenic winter walks and wildlife spotting to peaceful moments in remote mountain huts, you’ll explore the mountains in ways that few travellers experience.

In addition to the guided itinerary, a wide selection of optional activities is available to enhance your stay. Glide across open-air and indoor ice rinks, take a scenic horse-drawn sleigh ride, or experience the fun of sledging and tobogganing. For those seeking rest and indulgence, many of our resorts offer world-class spa and wellness facilities, with expert therapists on hand.

To ensure every detail is seamless, our Client Concierge team will work with you before your holiday to understand your needs and preferences. They will build a personalised itinerary, coordinating any activities or requests for your party. Once in resort, our local team will adjust the schedule to suit the weather and your energy levels, while our private resort driver service makes it easy to meet friends and family for lunch or après-ski.

With Powder Byrne, non-skiers are never an afterthought. Our Mountain Host programme offers you the chance to explore the Alps on your terms, finding joy in the snow in your own way. Give your family space to roam, time to reconnect, and the freedom to just be. Come to the Alps with Powder Byrne and discover how incredible summer can truly be.

Whenmost people picture Switzerland’s mountains, they imagine ski lifts and snowy slopes, steaming Glühwein in gloved hands, and fireplaces crackling in winter chalets. But for those in the know, the real magic of the Swiss Alps awakens not in winter’s hush, but in the sun filled joy of summer.

Up here, where the clouds touch the peaks and sunlight spills across rolling meadows, the mountains transform into a playground for all ages, especially for families. Summer in the Swiss Alps is not just a holiday, it is a storybook brought to life. And when you travel with Powder Byrne, the story becomes effortlessly personal, joyful, and unforgettable from start to finish.

The Alps in summer are bursting with discovery, and Powder Byrne helps your family enjoy it all with ease. With our in-resort team always available, every outing is safe, smooth and enriching.

Our resorts offer something for everyone. Hike trails that pass waterfalls and wildflower fields, swim in mountain lakes, explore adventure paths, or relax while children take part in our exclusive children’s clubs. Every experience is designed to create confidence and connection, allowing kids to learn, explore and make new friends.

When the day slows down, return to warmth, good food and time together. Share stories over creamy Rösti and rich chocolate mousse, or soak in the sunset from your balcony. Arosa – One of Powder Byrne’s

Most Popular Hidden Gems

Arosa has long been a favourite for Powder Byrne families, offering unforgettable experiences across both the summer and winter seasons. Tucked away at the end of a high alpine valley, Arosa enjoys a peaceful microclimate, fresh mountain air and spectacular views, all far from crowded beaches and city streets.

Powder Byrne partners with the finest hotels and private apartments in Arosa to provide families with outstanding comfort and convenience. Each property is selected to ensure easy access to Powder Byrne’s programmes, scenic trails and the natural beauty that makes Arosa so special.

The resort also features an excellent selection of restaurants both on the mountain and in town. From sunny terraces serving fresh alpine fare to cosy village spots offering traditional Swiss cuisine, Arosa has something to delight every palate.

ENDLESS ADVENTURE FOR CHILDREN

During the summer, Arosa becomes a haven for young explorers. Powder Byrne’s summer programmes are tailored for every age, from infants in our pb Créche to teenagers in Scallywags and TheZone.

In the pb Créche, little ones are cared for by our qualified childcare team in a safe and engaging environment that follows each child’s routine for comfort and familiarity.

Scallywags and TheZone are designed for active kids ready to unplug and dive into adventure. Mountain biking at the skills centre, swimming in alpine lakes, high ropes courses and visits to the bear sanctuary are just the beginning. Older children enjoy rafting, mountain roller coasters and more, all part of an exciting week packed with fresh air and real-life fun.

Our PB Tennis and PB Mountain Bike Academies give teens the chance to develop skills under expert guidance. Whether chasing the next

Federer on court or mastering trails with local biking pros, each day builds confidence and passion.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Arosa is not just for kids. Adults can explore 200 kilometres of hiking trails, enjoy guided or self-led e-biking, or tee off at one of Europe’s highest golf courses. After an active day, unwind with yoga, a swim in the lake or a spa session at your hotel.

During select summer weeks, Powder Byrne’s complimentary Mountain Host programme offers guided walks, gourmet lunches and outdoor adventures, ensuring parents enjoy the mountains just as much as their children.

Gstaad – Come Up, Slow Down

Gstaad, located in the Bernese Oberland, is a resort known for its understated luxury and peaceful charm. In summer, it becomes a haven for nature, wellness and outdoor adventure. With fresh mountain air, scenic trails, farm visits and cheesemaking, Gstaad offers authentic Alpine experiences far removed from the rush of busier resorts.

The resort embraces a wellness-focused lifestyle, captured in its motto, “Come up, Slow down.” Visitors come for spa hotels, yoga retreats and detox programmes, ideal for recovery, reflection or creative recharge.

But Gstaad is not only about calm. It also hosts world-class events such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival and the Swiss Open Tennis Tournament, all set against an intimate mountain backdrop. Active travellers will find over 300 kilometres of hiking routes, scenic mountain biking trails and summer snow experiences at Glacier 3000. Rock climbing, wild swimming and e-biking through peaceful valleys all add to the sense of discovery.

Gstaad offers a range of exceptional accommodations, including iconic names like The Alpina Gstaad and Gstaad Palace, ensuring guests enjoy comfort, style and excellent service.

FOR FAMILIES WITH POWDER BYRNE

Powder Byrne’s award-winning summer programmes take on new life in Gstaad. Whether an infant in our pb Créche, a curious child in Scallywags, an energetic teen in TheZone or a young athlete in one of our academies, the

Gstaad setting brings a unique mix of adventure and charm.

Children enjoy hide and seek at the Mirage Gstaad, visits to the Wispile Petting Zoo, mountain playgrounds, chocolate making and treasure hunts. Activities such as climbing, biking, kayaking and via ferrata take TheZone to new heights.

During selected summer weeks, our PB Adventure, PB Tennis and PB Golf Academies allow teenagers to improve their skills while embracing the energy and beauty of the mountains.

AND FOR THE ADULTS

Gstaad is just as rewarding for adults. The Gstaad Saanenland Golf Course offers stunning views and a refreshing climate. Outdoor yoga, lake swims, scenic walks and rustic saunas provide the perfect way to slow down.

Powder Byrne’s Mountain Host programme includes guided hikes, scenic lunches and bespoke experiences, giving parents and adults their own unforgettable adventure.

“The real charm of Gstaad is its quiet elegance. It values heritage and time spent in nature over fast-moving trends. For those who treasure simple luxury and meaningful family time, Gstaad is simply perfect.”

Scallywags & TheZone: Alpine Adventures for Young Explorers

SCALLYWAGS (AGES 4 TO 8)

Scallywags is our vibrant summer programme designed for children aged 4 to 8. Set in the heart of the Swiss Alps, it offers a joyful mix of outdoor exploration and creative play. Children take part in mountain biking, bear hunts, swimming, nature walks, and lakeside beach days, all surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery.

Each day is carefully curated by expert Powder Byrne childcare professionals and trusted Swiss partners. Every activity is thoughtfully chosen to inspire curiosity, encourage growth, and keep children safe and engaged. Against a backdrop of wildflower meadows and pine forests, children are free to explore, play, and connect with nature.

Mornings begin with hotel pick up, followed by a full day of adventures designed to match the pace and energy of the group. In the evenings, children come together for our supervised Scally Supper, where they share stories of their day and enjoy a calm, relaxed meal with their friends and Powder Byrne team.

What sets Scallywags apart is its deep commitment to development through play. Our childcare team uses embedded learning to help children build vital skills such as communication, resilience, and confidence. For example, a child trying to master a biking trail learns not only balance and coordination but also determination and collaboration.

The Scallywags programme creates a safe and nurturing environment where children are supported to grow, thrive, and discover the

magic of the mountains. Each moment is filled with wonder, and each day is an adventure to remember.

THEZONE (AGES 9 TO 12)

As children grow older, their thirst for adventure grows too. TheZone is designed for children aged 9 to 12 who are ready for more challenges, more responsibility, and more independence in their holiday experience.

In TheZone, children enjoy exciting outdoor activities such as rock climbing, canyoning, hiking, mountain biking, and sailing on alpine lakes in destinations like St Moritz and Gstaad. These activities are tailored to provide just the right level of adventure while building confidence and teamwork.

One of the highlights of TheZone is the off-site and evening campsite excursion. These vary by resort and may include kayaking down a river to a wild campsite or hiking across a mountain plateau to spend the evening in a remote alpine hut. These experiences encourage children to embrace the natural environment, develop outdoor skills, and build bonds with their peers.

Towards the end of the week, children plan and lead a family excursion, guiding their parents along trails they have explored and sharing insights from their adventures. This moment is a proud milestone that showcases their growing independence and knowledge.

Just like Scallywags, TheZone is built on a foundation of embedded learning. Our experienced team nurtures essential life skills through fun and active experiences. Whether

navigating a rock face or planning a group hike, children are constantly learning and growing.

TheZone is more than a holiday club. It is a purposeful space where children are challenged, supported, and inspired to explore the world around them. Every day is filled with discovery, every activity is meaningful, and every child leaves with new confidence and unforgettable memories.

PB Adventure Academy: A Summer of Discovery and Adventure

In recent years, Powder Byrne has seen great success with our teen academies, offering unforgettable experiences during the summer holidays. Each academy is designed with a strong connection to the destination, making the most of the unique features of every resort.

On the Portuguese coast, our Surf Academy harnesses the region’s reliable Atlantic waves. In Crete and Elba, the Scuba Academy explores crystal-clear waters filled with vibrant marine life. Meanwhile, Sardinia’s steady sea breeze sets the perfect stage for our Sailing Academy, offering teens the thrill of navigating warm Mediterranean waters.

More recently, we introduced the Adventure Academy, a high-energy programme that brings together the best adrenaline-filled activities across our Mediterranean resorts, all carefully curated and led by our experienced Powder Byrne team.

INTRODUCING OUR SWISS SUMMER ACADEMIES

Looking ahead to summer and beyond, we are excited to launch a brand new collection of teen academies in the Swiss Alps. These programmes are designed to embrace the rich and varied alpine environment, giving teenagers the chance to experience the mountains in a dynamic, adventurous, and deeply rewarding way.

Each academy will be thoughtfully crafted to reflect the character and strengths of the specific resort, ensuring a unique experience that is fully rooted in its surroundings.

From the rush of mountain biking through forest trails, to the focus and technique of perfecting a golf swing on one of Switzerland’s premier courses, the challenge of scaling a rock face, the teamwork of white water rafting through pristine alpine rivers, or the skill and agility of tennis on a mountain side court, our Swiss

Academies offer a wide variety of inspiring activities. Teens can also experience the thrill of sailing on some of the highest lakes in the world or take part in equestrian training that builds confidence, discipline, and a deeper connection with nature.

These adventures are not just about excitement. Each one is chosen for the valuable life skills it promotes, whether that is resilience, coordination, leadership, or confidence.

STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE

Our Swiss Academies will follow a purposeful structure, with mornings dedicated to skill development and afternoons filled with actionpacked alpine adventures. This format promotes personal growth, builds friendships, and fosters a lifelong love of the outdoors.

MORE THAN A HOLIDAY

With Powder Byrne, the mountains are more than a destination. They are a playground, a classroom, and a place where teenagers can explore, grow, and be inspired.

In St Moritz, alpine elegance meets lakeside leisure, a summer retreat where every generation finds their own perfect pace.

It was always going to be difficult to organise a family holiday with active children but this was perfect for us. We were out and about every moment of the day exploring the mountains on foot and bike. There was so much to do in such little time we will certainly be back for longer next time.
