Positively Osceola reached out to influential community leaders, inviting them to reflect on the year 2023 and to provide their thoughts and aspirations for 2024. Among those consulted for their perspective and vision for the new year was Hope Partnership CEO Reverend Mary Lee Downey. “Happy 2024! This year marks Hope Partnership’s 11th anniversary year of impact in Central Florida. We’ve served over 100,000 of our neighbors since our inception in 2013. The past year alone we’ve addressed food insecurity with more than 3,100 heartbeats and moved 233 individuals into stable housing! We remain committed to this community, and our work would not be possible without the support of our community partners.
We began our mission in response to the 2008 financial crisis and the housing crisis it created. Today, we find ourselves addressing the challenges of an escalating rental market coupled with stagnant wages in the economy. Families working full-time jobs are struggling to secure affordable housing, with many forced into hotels and motels. The reality is this: workers need to earn $27.35 an hour to afford a modest one-bedroom rental, while our local hospitality economy heavily relies on minimum wage jobs. It is impossible for those earning minimum wage to make ends meet in our community.”

Texas, Florida Top Growth States Again in 2023, According to U-Haul Migration Data Trends Florida ranked just behind Texas in netting the largest number of movers in oneway U-Haul equipment in 2023, marking the third consecutive year the two states have finished atop the U-Haul Growth Index. After Texas and Florida were North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Idaho, Washington, Arizona, Colorado and Virginia round out the top 10 states for growth. For the fourth year in a row, California reflected the largest net loss of one-way movers. Other bottom-five states for growth are Michigan, New Jersey, Illinois and Massachusetts. New York ranks 43rd. U-Haul calculates growth states by each state’s net gain (or loss) of one-way equipment from customer transactions in a calendar year. The U-Haul Growth Index is compiled from more than 2.5 million one-way U-Haul truck, trailer and U-Box moving container transactions that occur annually across the U.S. and Canada. “While one-way transactions in 2023 remained below the record-breaking levels we witnessed immediately following the pandemic, we continued to see many of the same geographical trends from U-Haul customers moving between states,” said John “J.T.” Taylor, U-Haul International president. “Migration to states in the Southeast and Southwest is still very pronounced. Demand for one-way equipment out of certain markets in the Northeast, Midwest and West Coast mirrors what we have seen during recent moving cycles. Wherever DIY customers go, and whatever mobility and selfstorage needs they have in 2024, U-Haul will be there with solutions.”

Osceola Magic Suffer Defeat Against Motor City Cruise The Osceola Magic fell to the Motor City Cruise at the Wayne State Fieldhouse 130-113 Tuesday night. Mac McClung and Kevon Harris combined for 53 points for Osceola. D.J. Wilson also contributed a doubledouble, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the losing effort. “It’s been a tough start to the road trip,” Magic Head Coach Dylan Murphy stated. “Our game plan and discipline were much better this game; they hit a lot of difficult shots. We will have to look at the film; we have another chance to improve on Thursday.” Despite Osceola’s solid 41.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc, the Magic faced a significant challenge on the boards, getting outrebounded 49-37 by the Cruise. Trailing by as much as 24 at one point, the Magic were able to cut the deficit to 10 with 4:19 left in the third quarter. However, they were unable to secure a victory in the end. The Osceola Magic (1-3), NBA G League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will face the Motor City Cruise, on Thursday, January 11 at the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit at 7:00 PM. Nephrectomy, or removal of a kidney, may be necessary when a patient has recurrent kidney infections, irreversible damage, long-term obstruction or tumors that indicate kidney cancer. Laparoscopic nephrectomy – a minimally invasive approach – uses tiny incisions in the abdomen that result in decreased blood loss, less pain, plus a shorter hospital stay and recovery. Many patients are able to return to full activity within 3-4 weeks after surgery.

These websites ask people to fill out online forms, which are then used to steal the applicant’s personal information. You should discuss with your child’s doctor how this therapy can be incorporated into your child’s daily treatments. Always supervise your child when a TENS unit is being used. A child can experience more pain if the TENS unit is used incorrectly. SAFETY OF TENS For most children, TENS is a safe treatment with no side effects. However, you should always consult your child’s doctor before beginning any treatment. There are some patients, such as those with epilepsy or heart conditions, who should not use a TENS unit.
