CLUB NOTES AND UPDATES
Welcome to Parc Ynysderw for this delayed FAW Trophy Round 4 cup tie and a warm welcome to everyone associated with Cwmbran Town FC. Welcome also to our Match Officials who are led by Rob Fulford.
Last time out, and after good wins against South Gower, Cardiff Corries and Treherbert BGC, the lads travelled to Barry Town’s Jenner Park to face Cardiff Airport. It was a very frustrating day as chances came and went, including a penalty, which allowed the home side to steal a 2-1 win despite our dominance. The lads will want to put that day behind them today as we face Ardal East based Cwmbran Town FC. We faced them earlier in the season at the Cwmbran stadium and a header from Josh Dorward put us through in the Ardal League Cup
Personally, I have fond memories of games against Cwmbran Town especially back in November 2008 when legendary progressive rock singer Fish, of Marillion fame, sponsored the game between the two sides at The Recreation Ground in Pontardawe. Pontardawe went on to win 6-2 and yours truly met up with Fish to discuss the game and he read the scorers out on stage that evening. Those who know me will know this was a big highlight for me … lol
• Transfer Update : We are sad to say farewell to Roman Legavec who has made the decision to leave and we wish him well at his new club
• Fixture Update : In January we host Pure Swansea in the League Cup. The league fixtures has been rearranged for April. Today’s league game against Cefn Cribbwr will also be rearranged.
• Youth @ Ponty : Last week the Development’s FAW Youth Cup game against Briton Ferry Llansawel was postponed and we await a date. In the week they gained an excellent 2-1 win away to Pontypridd Town. The Under 18s meanwhile lost 3-0 to Cwm Wanderers last time out and are at Pontarddulais tomorrow in the WWYL Plate.
• Ground Update : Things are still progressing well with our changing rooms and we are also planning to install an improved spectator access in the coming months. A lot of work ahead but the future is really looking positive

Will was our Peter James Young Player of the Year for the 20242025 season. An outstanding talent in midfield who outshone many an experienced opposition player last season.
Max featured for the first team a few times last season and is another one of the title winning Academy squad players. A real talent with an eye for goal
Jesse will join us in August when he turns 16 and will be immediately pushing for a first team start. He is a real talent and has an exciting future here at Parc Ynysderw
Kyle has played at Swansea City, Merthyr Town, Yeovil Town and many more but more recently has been banging them in at St Josephs FC. A proven goalscorer who hope will help take us to the next level here at Parc Ynysderw
Sam joins us from Morriston Town and comes with loads of experience at this level. A solid and attack minded midfielder who is a great addition to the squad here at Parc Ynysderw
An experienced player Joe joins us having last played in Australia. He has played at the highest levels here in Welsh Football also and will be a great asset for the club this season

Connor spent 2 seasons here at Pontardawe back in 2017-2019 and we welcome him back to the club as he signs from a successful spell at Port Talbot Town
