2020 Greater Pocono Home & Outdoor Living Show
T
he Greater Pocono Home & Outdoor Living Show takes place at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions March 28 & 29. The home show will be one of the first public events to take plane in the newly expanded convention center at Kalahari. Innovative and cutting-edge building and remodeling services and products for spring 2020 will be featured at this year’s show. The show is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors: R F Ohl, Advanced Concrete Manufacturer of Superior Walls, Erbs Landscaping, Liberty Homes Custom Builders. Get a jump start on your next building project. Home Show vendors can provide expert advice on building a custom home, starting an addition, kitchen or bath remodel or installing a new HVAC system. Talk with finance professionals to assist you in funding your project. See the largHome Show features many beautiful landscape displays

est display of landscape exhibits and largest number of builders and remodeler vendors of any home show in NEPA. The home show features over 150 vendors booths making this the largest show of its kind in NEPA. Consumers will be pleased as the 2020 home show features a number of new vendors and interesting exhibits in the show. Vendors also offer show deals and specials. Make sure you ask vendors for details on their show specials. Pocono Raceway is this year’s prize sponsor. Consumers visiting the show can complete raffle tickets and be eligible to win 300 Level tickets for Saturday June 27th. Two lucky winners will receive 4 (four) 300 level tickets. The day also includes a NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race in the morning followed by a NASCAR Cup Series race in the afternoon. Breast Friends of PA has been designated as the 2020 home show non-profit organization. Breast Friends is dedicated to improving the quality of life for female cancer patients. The organization provides services to women affected by breast cancer or any women’s cancer. The organization hosts a variety of support groups including a breakfast club, lunch bunch and an evening group. Breast Friends also assembles Chemo Kits. This year visitors coming to the home show are encouraged to bring the following items
needed for the Chemo Kits: chap sticks, cross word puzzle and coloring books and crayons, playing cards, reading materials, journals, blankets and any items that can keep women busy during chemo therapy. The Market Place an area of the show designated to cash ‘n carry products consists of merchants presenting unique and interesting products. From wood sculpture and jewelry to pottery and linens, the Market Place is a nice break in the show to pick up interesting gift items and merchandise. The home show committee is proud of its family friendly atmosphere. So, bring the kids. “Bob the Builder” will be available for photos. Bring your cameras and post your pics on Facebook and share in the excitement of the home show. Children accompanied by their parents can participate in the annual Scavenger Hunt, a seek and find type puzzle that spells out a phrase that relates the Pocono Mountains to the Kalahari Desert. There will prizes awarded each day of the home show. Parents can pick up scavenger hunt quest sheet at the registration area at the entrance to the home show. Visitors will receive a show guide, compliments of Happenings Magazine. The 2020 edition of the Pocono Builders Association’s membership directory and buyers guide will be available. This directory is a must-have compendium of qualified builders, remod-

elers, tradesmen, artisans and material and building products suppliers. The How to Hire a Reputable Contractor will also be available. Professional and dedicated staff and volunteers will make your home show experience the best it can be. The Monroe County of the American Red Cross Volunteers serve as the show’s Welcome Committee. Show hours are Saturday, March 28th 10 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday, March 29th 10 AM to 5 PM. The Most EPIC Summer Event Of 2020 These are the months we look forward to the most here at Pocono Raceway. Winter is coming to an end and warmer weather is shortly behind it. And as things heat up, that means racing is on its way back to Pocono Raceway. As you have heard, we are hosting the first-ever NASCAR Doubleheader Week, featuring five races in four days. It is going to be EPIC! For a second consecutive year, kids, ages 12 and under, are FREE in the 100 and 200 levels of the Grandstand every day! We are a one stop location for full days of family fun. Starting on Thursday, June 25, you can anticipate seeing a carnival area with games and rides and the best part is… it’s free! We’re bringing back our Kids Zone which includes bouncy houses, interactive games, and much more. The whole Fan Fair area will be packed with team merchandise haulers, armed forces set-ups, a fan stage scheduled with awesome entertainment and guests, and of course, be on the look-out for our mascot Tricky! And, on Friday, don’t miss our 12th annual Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital Kids Day. The day is FREE for kids and is packed full of family fun including face painters, magicians and interactive displays from local community partners. Saturday, June 27 will feature all three NASCAR series on track. NASCAR Xfinity Series hits the track for a morning practice session, followed by the only NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session of the weekend. In the early afternoon hours, NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series lay down the rubber during their 150-mile race and the day caps off with a 325-mile NASCAR Cup Series race. But that race’s
finishing order is doubly important as drivers try to get max points on Saturday and their position will set the starting lineup for Sunday’s Cup race…with an inverted twist! Cars finishing on the lead lap will flip their positions. This means Saturday’s winner will likely start somewhere between 20 and 25th positions, and that driver who was the last car to finish the lead lap on Saturday will start first on Sunday. The final day of the NASCAR Doubleheader Week is Sunday, June 28. Fans will NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying session, setting the field for the Pocono Green 225 Recycled by J.P.
