Can you provide details and pricing for homeowners who are inquiring about a preventive annual maintenance program for pest control? How do you determine which program would best be suited to fit their needs?
A
We do annual maintenance programs. First, we do an inspection of your home and check attics, crawlspaces, basements, and eaves. We look the entire home over. Every house tells a story of what is going on. It is detective work. Our annual agreements are $550 for the year which includes rodent proofing. It is a great deal because other companies charge $1500 and up for rodent proofing alone.

What are the most common pest control concerns that homeowners call you for regularly? Is it important that homeowners contact you even if they don't physically see any signs of pests in their home?
A
The most common pests we see are ants and mice. When we inspect attics sometimes, we find evidence of rodents bringing in nuts and other goodies. Sometimes we find ants eating wood in crawlspaces. Here in the Poconos you must keep your crawlspaces dry or it will ruin your whole house. Wood rot is worse than ants and termites put together. Mold eats the cellulose out of your support beams and soon you will see stress fractures and doors will not close properly due to settling. We always monitor that and have saved many homes and thousands of dollars.

How does Green Man Exterminator differ from other pest control companies? Are you able to offer a more personalized experience being local, as opposed to working with a national company?
A
We are an exterminating company that uses nontoxic botanical oils. Other companies manage pests with chemicals. We don’t manage anything; we just exterminate it. Building lasting relationships with our clientele is our main goal and we get the job done every time, guaranteed.

What preventative recommendations can you offer homeowners to prevent pests from re-entering their homes – specifically after a home has already been treated?
A
Preventative measures are always used, like rodent proofing your home so that you don’t have mouse droppings in your silverware drawers or in the walls. Rodents chew wires, bring fleas, and ruin the condition of crawlspaces and attics. Anyone can throw a bait block in the crawlspace. We take it a step further and rodent proof. The average home has about 25 entry ways. Green Man also uses a 35foot extension pole to clean the spider webs off your house.

Often a homeowner may feel they can't be present at their home during a routine pest control service. Are your products safe for owners and their pets to be present during service?
A
Our clients trust us and we have serviced many homes when clients are not present. We take our shoes off, lock doors, set alarms and treat homes with the utmost respect. Even though I am licensed to spray class 4 chemicals, it is not necessary. Our essential oils kill faster than the toxic stuff. Our sprays are safe for the environment, your loved ones and pets.
