TO THE 2015 BELLEVUE JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL! The Bellevue Downtown Association in partnership with the City of Bellevue is honored to bring you an exceptional lineup of featured artists. This year’s festival adds blues to the program and celebrates the influential relationship of two great American art forms. We are thrilled to share this outstanding talent and a range of extraordinary musical experiences. The five-day festival lineup will include ticketed performances and more than 40 free shows around Downtown Bellevue. Shows range from concerts at the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center — with its ideal acoustics and comfortable seating — to tableside sets in downtown bars and hotels. Headliners Booker T. Jones and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will each play two shows at the main stage at the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center. The Lloyd Jones Struggle and McTuff will perform at Bake’s Place, a dining and live music venue on the festival’s opening nights. Also hear some of the top student musicians and best school jazz and blues bands from around the Puget Sound region — an area noted for its depth of student and instructional talent. The festival dates back to 1978 when the City of Bellevue first hosted a festival at the Bellevue College and returned again in 2008 driven by the direction of the Bellevue Downtown Association. Now in our 8th year, the festival tradition continues to bring the community of jazz & blues enthusiasts together for a weekend of culture. You’ll find venues are within easy walking distance of each other so after you arrive and enjoy the music attractions, restaurants and shops in our vibrant urban hub.
THE DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND Friday, May 29 • 7:00 pm & 9:30 pm • $25 ($15 Students) The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a world famous music machine, whose name is synonymous with genre-bending romps and high-octane performances. The world-traveling New Orleans brass band is celebrating 38 years of music influenced by jazz, blues, R&B and Afro-Latino genres.

Thursday, May 28 • 7:00 pm & 9:30 pm • $20 This six-member band combines New Orleans rhythms, the simplicity of Memphis music, and the rawness of the blues all for the 21st century. Front man Lloyd Jones was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

Jones is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, record producer and arranger, and four-time GRAMMY Award winner, but he is best known as the front-man of the band Booker T. and the MGs. Jones was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award in 2007.

MCTUFF Wednesday, May 27 • 8:30 pm • $15 Hammond organist Joe Doria brings together some of the best of the NW music scene to create a powerful and jaw-dropping funk and jazz sound like you’ve never heard. A mix of stellar musicianship, seasoned songwriting and deep groove where no musical stone gets unturned. McTuff is a movin’ and groovin’ adventure that you will not soon forget, featuring the impeccable Andy Coe on guitar and the incredible Tarik Abouzied on drums.
