Readers are brand loyal to their favorite faces, places A record 1,200 people participated in the Herald’s “Best of North Kitsap” survey this year. Some of the results may surprise you. They’ll at least humor you.

In voting for “Best Accountant” and “Best Plumber,” readers gave “Dad” enough votes to warrant an honorable mention. “Mom” received a few votes for “Best Photographer.” One of our favorites: “Under the mattress” for “Best Bank.” We had a ton of votes for “Best Contractor,” which made this category one of the toughest to tally. For “Best Wine Shop,” we received a few votes for “My House.” And the “Best Place to Make Out”? Some of you voted for “Any Dirt Road in North Kitsap.”
