Miss Kitsap Fair and Stampede 2011 Queen Danielle Todd is 20 years old, from Bremerton and a graduate of Klahowya Secondary School. The 2011 Miss Kitsap attends Olympic College where she is pursuing an associate’s degree in technical arts. She also works full-time as a painter. Danielle loves animals and actively competes with her horse, Flaming Roses. Danielle and Rose are quite a team and have earned multiple high points championships that include 2008 Washington State Horseman Superior Equitation Rider. Danielle enjoys volunteering her time with special needs children and sharing her passion of horses with all who will listen. She has held many royalty titles to include, 2011 Queen of the Pinto Horse Association of Western Washington, 2010 Jr. Queen of the PtHAWW, 2009 Princess of the PtHAWW, 2008 Queen of the Kitsap Saddle Club and 2007 Princess of the KSC. Danielle loves representing the equestrian community in many events to include parades, clinics, horse shows and events. Achieving the title of Miss Kitsap Fair and Stampede has been a dream of Danielle’s for many years. She is honored to be able to represent Kitsap County, promote the 2011 Kitsap Fair and Stampede, as well as sharing her passion for the rodeo and horses.

Katie Kitsap 2011 The 2011 Kitsap Fair and Stampede Katie Kitsap is Kassidy Callahan, the daughter of Asa and Heidi Callahan. Kassidy was crowned as the 2011 Miss Katie Kitsap in April and is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Kassidy will enter first grade this fall and has four older brothers. She loves riding horses, riding her bike, playing with her dogs and playing with her friends.

The Josh Casey Show Josh Casey’s show is a mashup of comedy and juggling, audience participation, jokes and stunts. Josh is an actor, improviser and stand up comedian. He combines these things with some awesome juggling skills to give the audience something they haven’t seen before. Recently, Josh was hired to help Hugh Jackman prepare for a stunt on the Jay Leno Show and also opened for Kevin Nealon at the famous Hermosa Comedy and Magic Club.

Xtreme Bulls is returning to the Kitsap County Fair and Stampede for an eighth year. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association created the event a decade ago to showcase their premiere sport of bull riding.

Each year the bulls tour is showcased at less than a dozens events across the nation. Its televised appearance at the Kitsap County Fair and Stampede brings credit to the rodeo’s decades of tradition in the community and is credited with the Stampede being voted as one of the top five rodeos in the country. Top athletes compete for top prize money in an event that will be nationally televised on the Pursuit Channel.

The big fair that began small
Kitsap Fair History The first Kitsap County Fair was held in 1923 over in Port Orchard, the county seat – and there it was held for more than two decades. By 1929, exhibitors at the Fair totaled 1,000. The fair moved into its Bremerton location in 1958 and today more than 6,000 exhibitors join the annual fair tradition that sees an average annual attendance that has grown to 80,000. In 1960, the Chief Kitsap Stampede sold stock certificates for $1 and constructed the 12,000-seat Thunderbird Arena. Falling on the hard times of the 1970s, portions of the arena were condemned before the decade was out. With covered grandstands later added, today’s smaller arena holds 5,000 spectators and is used year-round for various events such as D-derby, Draft Horse Show, monster trucks and more. The complex hosts events that draw an annual overall attendance of more than 211,000.
The 2011 Kitsap County Fair and Stampede Fair Board aims, like all previous boards, to improve the quality of life in Kitsap County with the production of the annual fair and stampede. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds & Events Center in the Training Center, located next to the Parks Main Office, with the exception of December.
