MANILA – For stating what the majority of economists in the workplace and the academe say is nothing more than gospel truth, a respected undersecretary of the Department of Finance was forced to resign last week. This despite efforts of her direct superior, Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, reportedly asking her to stick to her job and just ignore the pressure to quit. But Cielo Magno said she was better off in the academe where she belongs.
