A Seamless Transformation: Cheryl and Martin’s Kitchen Journey with KF Kitchens

w hen Cheryl and m artin began planning their kitchen as part of a wider home extension, they wanted more than new cabinetry and appliances. t hey were looking for a space that would elevate everyday living, practical, refined and uncompromising in quality.

w hat followed was a carefully considered transformation delivered by k F k itchens.

From their first showroom visit, they felt confident in the team’s expertise. As they later shared, “From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in expert hands.” That reassurance shaped the entire experience.

d esign was the foundation of the project. d erinda worked closely with Cheryl and Martin

to understand both their aesthetic preferences and how they use their home day to day. The result was a sophisticated Nolte kitchen in Artline Coffee and Neo Pure Bronze, finished with MatrixArt Bronze rails for a sleek, handleless look. The layered tones add warmth and depth while maintaining crisp architectural lines.

For the worktops, they selected dekton Kelya in 20mm, an ultra-compact surface combining dramatic marble-inspired veining with exceptional durability. Resistant to heat, scratches and stains, it delivers both visual impact and long-term performance, ideal for a hardworking family kitchen.

Nathan’s technical expertise ensured every decision was informed and purposeful. His consultative approach gave clarity around each

specification, from cabinetry construction to appliance layout. As Cheryl and Martin noted, “he didn’t just sell us a kitchen; he educated us on the ‘why’ behind the ‘what.’”

A key design challenge was integrating the existing utility room into the new layout. A 750mm access door created practical flow without disrupting the kitchen run, while illuminated open shelving added both function and visual interest, transforming a potential constraint into a seamless design feature.

Appliances were selected to provide professional-level performance at home. Two Neff added-steam ovens offer flexibility for entertaining and everyday cooking, while a Neff venting hob preserves open sightlines through integrated extraction.

An extra-wide Neff fridge freezer completes the suite, providing generous storage without compromising the overall aesthetic.

By choosing five qualifying Neff appliances, Cheryl and Martin also benefited from a neff Cashback promotion, receiving £1,400 back on their purchase. With the cashback offer revived again this year, it presents an added advantage for homeowners considering a premium appliance package. Functionality extends beyond cooking. A Quooker Fusion Square tap in black, paired with the CUBE system, delivers instant boiling, chilled and sparkling water from a single fixture, reducing worktop clutter while enhancing everyday convenience.

As this kitchen formed part of a larger extension,

Cheryl and Martin had their own builders and trades in place. KF Kitchens’ installation team worked seamlessly alongside them, ensuring timelines aligned and standards remained uncompromised. Every detail, from cabinetry alignment to final finishing touches, was executed with precision.

Reflecting on the experience, they described kF kitchens as “perfectionists in the best sense of the word,” highlighting the team’s dedication to getting the finer details right.

Even after completion, the journey continued. Keen to maximise their new appliances, they attended one of the KF Kitchens Neff cooking demonstration days, gaining hands-on insight into advanced features and techniques.

For Cheryl and Martin, this renovation was about more than aesthetics. It was about trust, expertise and a team that genuinely cared. The finished kitchen reflects that collaboration, refined in design, engineered for performance and built to enhance everyday living.

The

Countdown Is On: Plymouth’s First Food Waste Collections Begin!

There is now less than a week to go before many areas of Plymouth begin to benefit from weekly food waste collections.

The service will start for many homes in Devonport, Keyham, Plympton, Plymstock, Southway, Stoke, Tamerton Foliot and Whitleigh from Monday 2 March with the rest of the city following in four more phases before the end of the year.

Residents in the first phase are now being encouraged to start filling their new internal caddies with items such as fruit and vegetable peelings, tea bags, coffee grounds and plate scrapings in time for their first collection next week.

Councillor Tom BriarsDelve, Cabinet Member

for the Environment and Climate Change, said: “It’s really exciting to be just a few days away from Plymouth’s first ever food waste collection round.

“Over the past few weeks, our teams have been meeting residents across the city and we know many people are already filling their bin ready for us to get started.

“These weekly collections will bring big benefits to the city by increasing our recycling rates, reducing emissions and helping families save money as they become more aware of the amount of food they throw away.”

Over the last month, residents in the first phase have been provided with a small kitchen caddy to make separating food

waste from your rubbish easy, a roll of liners and a larger outdoor caddy for storing your food waste and putting it out for collection.

Some residents who live in flats, apartment blocks or houses of multiple occupation have been provided with a communal external bin, instead of individual outdoor caddies.

After collection, the food waste will be processed at a local anaerobic digestion plant. Anaerobic digestion uses bacteria to break down organic matter into a methane rich gas. This is then used to create fertiliser and electricity.

LWorld WildlifeDay

This March why not embrace your wild side and let open up your garden to all sorts of wildlife.

iving in devon it is clear that we are blessed with an abundance of wildlife around us. weather it’s the hedgehogs roaming around in the early hours of the morning or the many sea creatures that roam the waters around us. plymouth and the surrounding areas are one of the most biodiverse developed environments in the country and that is only possible because of all the effort that local people go to in order to ensure a happy home for our animal friends. as it’s world wildlife day this month i’ve complied some little things you can do in your garden to protect the local wildlife.

having a hedgehog house

As winter fades and spring emerges, we are sure to see more colour and spark in our landscape so why not embrace that feeling and invite some new animals into your garden. A hedgehog house can also provide shelter and a place to raise its young so don’t be surprised if you have more than a few visitors. Hedgehogs can also help clean up your garden from garden pests such as slugs or snails so if you’re having a problem with some pesky holes in your garden veg then a hedgehog house might just be the perfect solution for you.

You might be asking how the hedgehogs are supposed to find their new little home well that’s where a wildlife corridor come in. This simple hedgehog-highway can be made by simply making holes in your fences maybe to a field or just an open space, if you want to get really into your wildlife conservation your can ask your neighbours to join you and create a hedgehog superhighway by having holes that stretch from one of the of your road to the other. Maybe you have already got a hole in your fence that you’ve been meaning to patch up and now all you need to do is leave it or possibly make it the right size for some friendly spiky neighbours to pop their heads through.

Birds and ButterFlies

If you want to further increase the biodiversity of your little oasis you can buy or build a beautiful birdhouse. similar to hedgehogs a bird in the garden might not sound like the solution to your garden woes however, they are excellent pest control as well great weed control and soil fertilization. Not only is a birdhouse good for your garden but it may also be good for you; listening to birds chirping has been shown to decrease stress levels in people and it’s also a

great way to show children a new perspective of nature and allow them to see up close why even in an urban environment animals such as birds are still so vital to the ecosystem. so whether you’re trying to relax after a tiring week or you’re just trying to have someone else tidy up the garden for free then definitely consider putting up a home made bird box.

There are not many flowers that will be bad for introducing some life into a garden, but some are better than others. One of the most effective are Zinnia flowers, not only do they flower within just a few weeks, but they are also an absolute favourite of all sorts of bee’s and butterflies. You can directly sow these wonderfully colourful flowers at the start of spring as now is the perfect time. Additionally, you could go all out and create a minmeadow in a corner of the garden this way you can embrace the spirit of spring even more by just putting a chair down and watching the butterflies go to work in your own little sanctuary.

the BenaFits oF a water Feature

If your find yourself feeling like your garden is still missing something, then one of the best things you can do is add a water feature. This not only looks amazing but in a similar fashion to having a bird in the garden having a water feature can help create a calming environment, this can be perfect when you’ve had a stressful week at work or just in general. If you’re worried about the water going stagnant then the good news is some pond plants you can oxygenate the water so that way you will have a lovely water feature all year round and give the bees and butterflies some extra places to land.

a simple swap

If you already have many of the features discussed, then something you may not have thought have thought of changing the fertilizers you use. This can be as simple to swapping to a seaweed feed or even better your own compost. something else you can do is regularly mulching the ground; digging over soil in the beds and boarders can destroy vital micro-organisms that help our gardens come to life. Mulching the ground instead can help keep everything in balance and eliminate to add artificial fertilizers. This balance is vital for keeping the local wildlife happy and create a great habitat for the circle of life.

let it grow!

If you’re not sure about how to go about creating a great garden for some wild companions, then maybe the easiest option is to do nothing. By this I mean that letting a corner of your garden grow wild can be an excellent low-effort way to nurture the perfect environment for many wild animals.

Although it may look a bit mesy at first a wild corner of a garden is something to be proud of. If you have particularly green sleeves it might be hard to resist going some TLC so this area but after a short while you will be able to marvel at your wonderfully wild corner and gaze into its freeing nature.

The best time to plant a tree in the garden was probably twenty years ago but the second-best time is now. A tree can foster many different animals from birds to squirrels to the occasional owl. Trees suck up plenty of carbon dioxide over the years and provide some natural hedging across the edges of your garden. There is also nothing quite like sitting under a tree with a nice cold drink marvelling at the garden you have created over the years.

why is world wildFile day important?

World wildlife day is an opportunity to take a step-back and appreciate the amazing animals that surround us. Many of these animals play curial roles within our area and its imporant that we give back to them, even in the smallest of ways.

I hope by reading this you’ve found some inspiration to let some wildlife into your garden this month. Our local animals might not be as interesting as some other places across the world but its important to appreciate the beauty of our area when it’s cared for. Our wildlife is so important to our ecosystem and by making a few changes in your garden you can change it into a lush natural nursery for all sorts of wildlife. so, get out to the garden and embrace your wild side!

MOTHER’S DAY

Mother’s Day is on Sunday 15th of March and it’s time to show your mum that you really do care about her. Go and pick up a fresh bunch of flowers and tell her how much you love her!

Mothers and mother figures hold a place in our lives that no one else can quite match. They are often the first people we know when we enter the world, offering love, care and reassurance as we grow — and continuing to do so long into adulthood. each year, mother’s day offers a special moment to recognise and celebrate everything they do for us.

In the UK, Mother’s day — traditionally known as Mothering sunday — falls on the fourth sunday of Lent. In 2026, it will be celebrated on sunday 15 March, a day dedicated to thanking the women who nurture, guide and support us.

the tradition stretches back centuries. historically, it was a day when children working as apprentices or in domestic service were given time off to return home and visit their “mother church” and spend precious time with their families. over time, the occasion evolved into a broader celebration of motherhood and family bonds.

Today, with many families living further apart than ever before, the opportunity to spend meaningful time together feels more valuable than ever. While

Mother’s day has become one of the biggest gifting occasions of the year — second only to Christmas for many — its true purpose remains simple: showing appreciation.

Mother’s day isn’t only about our own mums. It’s a chance to honour all the incredible women who care for and support others — step-mums, mothersin-law, mums-to-be, grandmothers, sisters, aunties, carers and family friends who take on nurturing roles. It is a day to make them feel seen, valued and loved.

Everyone celebrates differently. For many families, it’s a time to gather together and spoil Mum for the day — taking care of the cooking, tidying, and daily chores so she doesn’t have to lift a finger. But while jewellery, spa days and gift vouchers are lovely gestures, they aren’t always what mothers value most.

as mother’s day has grown more commercial, it can sometimes feel like the focus has shifted from appreciation to spending. in reality, thoughtful acts and quality time often mean far more than expensive presents.

sometimes, the simplest treats are the most appreciated. A long, uninterrupted lie-in can feel like pure luxury — especially in busy households. With Mother’s day falling on a sunday, it’s the perfect opportunity to let Mum sleep in and wake to a delicious breakfast in bed.

Creating a calm moment of relaxation can also go a long way. A hot bubble bath, soft music, a good book and a favourite drink can transform an ordinary afternoon into a peaceful retreat.

And let’s be honest — many mums would love nothing more than a tidy home. Rally the household, grab the cleaning supplies and tackle the hoovering, washing and dishes while she relaxes with a cup of tea and puts her feet up.

if younger children are involved, taking them out for a few hours can give mum the gift of quiet — a rare and cherished treat. even small pockets of peace can feel restorative.

To round off the day, gather everyone together and cook her favourite meal to enjoy as a family. shared time, laughter and togetherness often create the memories that matter most.

mother’s day doesn’t need to be about how much you spend. at its heart, it’s about gratitude, love and appreciation — and showing the mothers and mother figures in our lives just how much they mean to us.

HOME & GarDEN

Home and gardening remodelling ideas to help make the most out of your space this Spring.

If you can’t buy, renovate! giving your home a makeover can mean more than just the furnishings and a lick of paint. in order to make the most of the space or increase the value of your property, it might be worth thinking about doing some renovating. we renovate our homes and gardens to make the most out of the space and to be able to enjoy them for years to come. we also self-consciously update our homes to improve the market value of the property when it comes to selling down the line. spending that little bit of extra money and time on things that are built to last will save you more money in the long run.

Cleaning or re-painting your windows and doors will help to bring them back to life again and make your home more welcoming. spray vision offer a service like no other where they can spray paint your UPvC windows and doors any colour you like and leave you with a factory finish and a 10-year guarantee. Tired or broken doors and windows can make the whole house feel neglected, they also let in more drafts causing your energy bills to increase. For all types of door and window repairs, the door doctor offers a mobile repair service based in Plymouth to help your windows look brand new again.

Garages can feel very cluttered very quickly, even the garage door itself can take up that much-needed space. garolla garage doors have a unique solution with their electric roller garage doors. Fully fitted, insulated

A well installed driveway will add to the value of your property while making it look polished and clean. J davis paving, Plymouth offer affordable driveway installations and repairs with a wide variety of patterns, colours and materials.

INTERIOR

If you can’t decide on which room to renovate, we would always recommend doing the kitchen to make the biggest impact on the overall look of the house and on your lifestyle. We spend a large amount of time in the kitchen, it’s where we cook, entertain, socialise and gather for meals so it’s important to get it right. However, if you are renovating to sell, the kitchen may not be the place to spend your money as everybody’s tastes are different and the new owners may end up ripping it out anyway.

kF kitchens strive to create your perfect dream kitchen with excellent customer service and flawless results. By using established brands such as Nolte, simply Burbidge and Kitchen Makers, they can offer both modern

and minimalist kitchens as well as classic and timeless.

If you are happy with the general layout and style of your kitchen but feel it needs a change of colour and a bit of updating, spray vision can also spray your kitchen cabinets too giving new life to old kitchens. The results after spray vision has transformed your kitchen look flawless and have a factory finish every time.

Open-plan living has been popular for many years and there are no signs of this slowing down. Allowing yourself room within your home to relax and enjoy whatever you like doing is what a home is all about but having the space to do this is often challenging. Knocking down a few walls will transform your living space whilst increasing the asking price when it comes to selling. Taking down the kitchen wall into the living room or dining area is a popular option to start with.

Kitchens were never supposed to be sociable spaces however, as time has moved on, we are entertaining more, cooking more food at home and using the kitchen space for more than just preparing food. We don’t recommend knocking down any walls before seeking structural advice first!

Flooring obviously runs through your whole home and although it’s not technically a statement piece, it can make a huge impact when it has been refreshed. Even just giving it a good old clean will help to bring light into the room and make the floors feel new again. Herringbone and seagrass flooring are very popular

at the moment as we are picking out neutral colours and natural materials. It also provides a base if you then wanted to add a splash of colour to the room. larry speare, based in Plymouth, has a huge showroom and warehouse with a large choice of affordable carpets and vinyl as well as rugs, beds, mattresses.

Extensions and conservatories are a costly decision however, they can increase the asking price of your property by 7%! Adding more natural light into your home instantly creates space and opens the room up. Extensions with velux windows and bi-folding doors will help to flood the rest of the room in daylight whilst making you feel even closer to the outside world.

When it comes to selling or renting your property, Tech surveys can aid you in making sure you have an upto-date EPC, as well as Legionella risk assessment. They can also supply you with floor plans available in full colour, black and white or 3d from as little as £30 for a standard 2d B&W plan of a 1–4-bedroom house.

GARdEN

It’s all systems go in the garden in March. Whether you’re a novice gardener or have your own veg patch complete with a greenhouse, anyone can have a go, no matter the size of your garden or balcony. Knowing

what seeds you have to sow indoors, outdoors or plant straight into the soil is the first thing to keep in mind.

seeds of carrots, parsnips, lettuces, radishes, turnips, broad beans, beetroot, peas, salad leaves, leeks and spinach can now be sown outdoors. Make sure they are sheltered with some protection or kept in a mini portable greenhouse. They will each have instructions on the back of the packet in terms of sunlight and feeding.

For a splash of colour, sweet peas can now be sown outdoors after being sown indoors from autumn. And hardy annuals can be sown outdoors for a gorgeous display of colour when summer arrives.

A brand new fence or a lick of paint can freshen up your whole garden, but it’s important to choose the right colour to enlarge your garden. In a small garden, a dark colour fence will enclose your garden making it feel small yet cosy, whereas a lighter coloured fence will help to bring more light into the corners of your garden but will require more maintenance to keep it looking clean.

All businesses mentioned in this editorial are local to Plymouth and trusted with years of experience. We hope that this has given you the confidence to transform your own house into a space that you’re proud to call home.

A AN ECO-FRIENdLY SPRING

Top tips for thinking about the planet whilst having a spring clean.

spring clean is like putting on fresh clean bedsheets in every crevice and item in your home. it’s extremely satisfying for your mind and your home but less so for the planet.

Most cleaning products contain nasty chemicals and are usually stored within non-recyclable plastic bottles. Antibacterial wipes are not biodegradable or flushable (though some claim to be), resulting in blocked drains or ending up in landfill. And a year’s worth (or more) of personal items get sorted out into piles and head for the tip. If only there was a way we could all experience the satisfaction of a spring clean without the harmful effects on the planet…

Well, you’re in luck. We have found lots of hacks, eco-friendly inventions and tips to get the job done with the same amount of satisfaction.

CLEANING PROduCTs

You may think you need a different cleaning product for every different surface in your house however, constantly buying plastic bottles is not good for the planet and it also adds unnecessary clutter. stick to one multisurface cleaner and cloth for the whole house and only buy purpose-made products when you need them.

Even better still, you can purchase reusable glass bottles to avoid plastic and opt for products such as multi-

purpose refill sachets by Ocean Saver or concentrated disinfectants such as Zoflora which you only need to use a small amount at one time. Once you have used up all of your other cleaning products and correctly recycled the bottles, you will have a clean and tidy cupboard under the sink.

RECYCLE

Clothes and shoes can be recycled by various retailer-run recycling programmes or at your clothes and shoes’ local recycling bin. Broken items of furniture or damaged electrical appliances can be taken to your local recycling centre. If you are unsure where your local recycling centre or bin is, head to www. recyclenow.com, where they have a useful search tool to find out what types of items you can recycle and where.

Before throwing anything out, ask yourself if you could make anything new from the item. Upcycling is a great way to turn unwanted items into something tailored to your style. Whether that be a dress that you’d like to sew into a top or a cupboard that needs some updating. This is not only an eco-friendly way of adding new life to old items, but it can also be a lot of fun and you can learn a new skill along the way.

If you are unsure about upcycling,

there are plenty of inspirational and educational videos on home dIYs on YouTube to avoid any mistakes.

GIVE AWAY

Anything that you don’t use that isn’t faulty or too damaged can go in this pile. When making this pile, think about who you want to give or sell it to.

Charity shops are always after new clothes to sell and they will happily take your unwanted belongings. You can take your clothes to your local charity shop or a charity shop in particular that you’d like to support once they are open on the 12th of April. You can also deliver your items to a charity of your choice with free postage.

somebody in your family or a close friend might take it off your hands and put it to good use, it’s always worth asking them.

If it is in good condition, you could sell it on various second-hand shopping sites such as; eBay, vinted, depop, Gumtree or shpock. Make sure the images are clear, and the description is honest and don’t forget about the postage and packaging costs.

I hope these tips have given you some inspiration for your next ecofriendly spring clean and may even work their way into your weekly clean.

Why Checking Could save Your Life: Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the uk, yet it remains one of the least talked about. For many men, health checks are something to put off, ignore or quietly hope won’t ever be needed. during prostate Cancer awareness month, the message is simple but vital: checking yourself and knowing the signs could save your life.

The prostate is a small gland, about the size of a walnut, located below the bladder. As men age, changes to the prostate are common, but not all changes are harmless. Prostate cancer often develops slowly and, in its early stages, may show no obvious symptoms at all. This is what makes awareness and proactive testing so important.

One of the biggest barriers to early diagnosis is embarrassment. Many men feel uncomfortable discussing prostate health or undergoing tests such as a PsA blood test or a digital rectal examination. This discomfort, however, is a small price to pay compared to the consequences of late diagnosis. Talking openly, asking questions and taking control of your health is not a sign of weakness – it’s a sign of strength.

Risk increases with age, particularly for men over 50, and even earlier for those with a family history of prostate cancer or men of Black heritage, who are statistically at higher risk. Knowing your personal risk and speaking to your GP about testing can make a critical difference.

Here in the south West, local support plays a vital role in both awareness and care. The Chestnut Appeal,

based in devon, has been supporting men and their families affected by prostate, testicular and penile cancers for many years. Their work is an essential part of the region’s healthcare landscape, providing practical help, emotional support and funding for specialist services that directly benefit local patients.

One of the key services offered by the Chestnut Appeal is funding specialist cancer nurses who work alongside NHs teams. These nurses provide invaluable one-to-one support, helping patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options and what to expect at every stage of their journey. For many men, having someone to talk to who understands both the medical and emotional side of cancer can be life-changing.

The charity also supports counselling services for patients and their families, recognising that cancer does not only affect the individual diagnosed.

Partners, children and loved ones often need guidance and reassurance too. In addition, the Chestnut Appeal helps fund vital medical equipment and research, ensuring that local hospitals can continue to offer high-quality care close to home.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Month is not only about statistics and symptoms; it’s about changing attitudes. It’s about encouraging conversations between friends, partners, fathers and sons. It’s about normalising health checks and removing the stigma that prevents men from seeking help early.

If you are over 50, or over 45 with higher risk factors, speak to your GP about a PsA test. If you notice changes or symptoms, no matter how small they seem, get them checked. And if you or someone close to you is affected by prostate cancer, know that local support is available.

By raising awareness, supporting charities like the Chestnut Appeal and encouraging men to take responsibility for their health, we can save lives. Prostate cancer does not have to be a silent killer. This month, and every month, checking yourself, talking openly and acting early could make all the difference.

RECIPES

We have gathered together some delicious recipe ideas that are simple to re-create at home this spring.

Churros serves - 8-10 ingredients

• 140g plain flour

• 100g golden caster sugar, plus 2 tbsp

• zest 1 lemon

• 120g unsalted butter, diced

• ½ tsp vanilla extract

• 3 large eggs, beaten

• sunflower oil, for frying

• ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

• melted dark chocolate or salted caramel sauce

Boil the kettle. Sift the flour into a big mixing bowl with a big pinch of salt, then stir in the 2 tbsp sugar and lemon zest. Put 350ml boiling water, the butter and vanilla extract in a saucepan. Heat gently to melt, then bring to a simmer and, as soon as it is boiling, turn off the heat. Tip in the flour mixture and very quickly beat with a wooden spoon until lump-free. Cool for 5 mins, then beat in the eggs one at a time, with the spoon or an electric whisk. Rest for 1015 mins, or cover and chill for up to 24 hrs.

Fill a large, deep saucepan one-third full of oil. Heat until it reaches 180°C on a cooking thermometer. Cover a tray with kitchen paper, and mix the caster sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.

Fit a star nozzle to a piping bag – 1-2cm wide is a good size. Fill with the rested dough, then pipe 2-3 strips directly into the pan, snipping off each dough strip with a pair of scissors. Fry until golden brown and crisp, then remove with a slotted spoon and drain on the kitchen paper-lined tray. Carry on cooking the rest of the dough in batches, sprinkling the cooked churros with some cinnamon sugar as you go. dip the warm churros into the melted chocolate or salted caramel sauce and enjoy.

DEVON SPRING WALKS

Spring is the perfect season for hiking or walking, with more sunny days, a gentle breeze and lots of beautiful wildflowers. It’s time to put your walking boots on and explore more of what Devon has to offer. (All route statistics are rough estimates.)

BigBury-on-sea 4 miles 2 hours

this walk has a great mix of coast, woodland and countryside, perfect for spotting wildflowers and wildlife.

Park in the Bigbury-on-sea car park, head down to the beach if you can’t resist the golden sand and then head back up to the car park to begin your walk. Follow the public footpath signs at the top left of the car park and head North Easterly following the south West Coast Path. You will walk past Challaborough and Toby’s Point before making the steep descent down to Ayrmer Cove. Walk over the river and take the public footpath on your right which heads inland to the village of Ringmore, passing sheep in the valley.

Once you walk past Manor Farm, follow the public footpath around to your right where you will meet the quaint Journey’s End Inn where they serve a delicious sunday roast. From the pub, continue your walk towards the church in the centre of the village and then head right at the crossroads, continue down this road to join back onto the public footpath. Walk over two steep valleys and then at the top of the second valley, you will be met with a fence. With the fence on your left, head right and follow the fence into the next field and then straight down through Bigbury-on-sea to the car park.

dogmarsh Bridge via Castle drogo 5 miles 2.5 hours

this walk follows the stunning river teign and teign gorge up to Fingle Bridge and Castle drogo.

Begin at dogmarsh Bridge, you can either park on the grass verge or if you plan to have a pub lunch afterwards, you can park in a nearby pub car park. (We recommend asking the pub beforehand if this is okay to do so)

Head east through the gate and onto the path which follows the tranquil river Teign and the Teign Gorge. Keep the river to your right and follow it around until you reach Fingle Bridge.

Fingle Bridge is a beautiful 17thcentury stone arch bridge. Opposite the bridge is Fingle Bridge Inn, a lovely pub if you needed a spot to rest.

After Fingle Bridge, stay on the road heading North for a few meters and then take the next left footpath. Follow this path passing Hunting Gate, sharp Tor, Castle drogo and Hunter’s Tor. Head North and follow the footpath until you reach a T junction of paths. Take the left footpath which will take you back down to the River Teign. From there you will recognise the path you originally came from which will take you back to your car.

start point to torCross 7.5 miles 3.5 hours

on a beautiful spring day, this coastal walk along start Bay will give you epic views of the 15-mile stretch of coastline. this walk involves walking back the same way you came. depending on your walking abilities, there are three great options.

Begin at the start Point car park and head right, and take the 1.3-mile walk along the dramatic headline to reach the start Point Lighthouse. This stretch of coastline is one of the best coastal walks along the south West Coast Path.

If you fancy a longer walk, head back the way you came and carry along the coast path passed Hallsands before reaching Beesands. A quaint seaside village with cottages and a pub lining the coast and a beautiful beach.

If you feel like exploring more of this coastline, carry on the coast path until reaching Torcross. Be sure to check out stokeley Farm shop for a browse and a bite to eat at their café.
