Inside KF Kitchens’ NEFF Cooking Days: Bringing Appliances to Life!
Choosing a new kitchen involves more than selecting beautiful cabinetry and highquality appliances. For many homeowners, the real question comes after installation: how do you truly make the most of the technology in a modern kitchen? At KF Kitchens’ award-winning showroom at Faraday Mill, the answer comes through their muchanticipated NEFF Cooking Days.
Held around four times a year, these relaxed afternoon events are exclusively for customers who have purchased through KF Kitchens.
Hosted by Nathan and Derinda Damarell — and supported by the wider Damarell family — the sessions are designed to show customers exactly

how their new appliances work in real life, helping them unlock features that many people never realise their ovens and hobs can do.
With around twenty guests attending each event, the atmosphere is friendly and informal. Demonstrations take place in the live kitchen displays within the showroom, with the appliances working exactly as they would in a customer’s own home. Everything that is cooked is shared and enjoyed by those attending — after all, learning to cook with new appliances would hardly be the same without tasting the results.
The oven demonstrations often begin with dishes that showcase the benefits of NEFF’s Added-Steam technology. A roast lamb cooked with controlled bursts of steam shows how the feature helps retain
moisture and flavour while achieving beautifully crisp results on the outside. Toasties prepared using the oven’s Air Fry function often surprise customers who hadn’t realised their oven could replace several countertop appliances, whilst desserts such as a white chocolate and apricot traybake baked in the combimicrowave highlight how combination cooking can dramatically reduce cooking times whilst maintaining excellent texture and flavour .
The NEFF Venting Hob demonstrations are equally popular. Using the complimentary induction pans supplied with each hob, Nathan and Derinda show how flexible the cooking surface can be. A no-stir risotto prepared using NEFF’s Fry Sensor technology demonstrates how the hob can precisely regulate temperature,
allowing the dish to cook evenly without constant stirring. Arancini balls are another favourite, with the slimmer induction pan used as a compact deepfat fryer — something many customers would never have thought possible before seeing it in action. Pasta dishes and other one-pan recipes further illustrate how the hob’s Flex Induction zones and automated sensors simplify cooking while delivering consistently excellent results.
For Nathan and Derinda, these events are about far more than cooking demonstrations. They are part of KF Kitchens’ wider philosophy of supporting customers long after the design and installation stages are complete . By helping homeowners feel confident using their new appliances, the business ensures every kitchen they install performs exactly as intended.
This commitment to customer experience is one of the reasons KF Kitchens received both the KBSA Customer Service Award and the BKU Customer Service Award in 2025 . The cooking days form a small but important part of that approach, turning the kitchen

showroom into a place where customers continue learning long after their project is finished.
The popularity of the demonstrations also reflects the value many customers have received through NEFF’s current cashback promotion , which runs on kitchen deposits paid until 10 April 2026. Depending on the number of appliances selected, homeowners can receive up to £1,000 cashback , with additional rewards available for key appliances such as the NEFF Venting Hob and extra-wide fridge freezers In some cases, customers can receive as much as £1,750 in total cashback , allowing them to secure top-of-the-range NEFF appliances at far more accessible prices.
The most recent NEFF Cooking Day took place in March 2026 , with another series of events planned throughout the year as

newly installed kitchens are completed. While attendance is reserved for KF Kitchens customers, the events highlight the level of care and aftersales support the company provides.
For customers of KF Kitchens, however, the biggest reward comes later: an invitation back to the showroom to cook, learn, and enjoy great food together— turning impressive appliances into tools they use with confidence every day.
To transform your kitchen space, book a consultation in the KF Kitchens Studio, by email (enquiries@kfkitchens. co.uk) or phone (01752 255022). You can also check out their website (www. kfkitchens.co.uk), and social media on Instagram (@ kfkitchens) or Facebook.

n today’s homes, kitchens and bathrooms have become far more than purely practical spaces. They are places of comfort, routine, and personal expression, shaping how people begin and end each day.

His deep understanding of materials, spatial layouts, and evolving customer needs ensures each project is approached with precision and care, creating a smooth, professionally managed experience from the first consultation to the final sign-off.
Whether clients are drawn to the classic charm of a Shaker-style kitchen or the sleek, minimalist lines of a contemporary handleless finish, each design is tailored to suit individual

lifestyles. Cornflower has recently introduced striking new ranges featuring sophisticated metallic and stone finishes. These textures add a layer of architectural depth and tactile interest to the home, allowing for a truly premium, bespoke aesthetic that stands out from the crowd.

This approach is particularly effective in modern openplan environments, where kitchens are expected to transition seamlessly into dining and living areas.
However, the Cornflower signature service now extends well beyond the kitchen. The company has seen a growing demand for Fitted Bedrooms, where the goal is to create a sanctuary that maximises storage without sacrificing style. Similarly, the rise of flexible working has made the Home Office a priority; Cornflower designs ergonomic, inspiring workspaces that blend perfectly with a home’s decor. For the living room, custom Media Walls have become a standout feature, providing a sophisticated way to house technology and fireplaces while creating a stunning architectural focal point.
Bathrooms are approached with the same level of care and refinement. Cornflower understands that a welldesigned bathroom should offer both practicality and a sense of calm. From modern, minimalist wet rooms to more traditional, luxurious suites, each space is created to suit the character of the home and the specific needs of the client. Fixtures and fittings are selected for quality and longevity, while layouts are planned to maximise space and comfort, whether it is a compact ensuite or a full family bathroom. The result is a space that feels considered, cohesive, and built to last.

What truly sets Cornflower apart is the certainty and peace of mind offered to every client. Navigating a home renovation can be daunting, which is why Cornflower takes the risk out of the process. As a Which? Trusted Trader with many 5-star ratings, the company’s credentials speak for themselves. Every project is backed by Home Improvement Protection Insurance and a 3-year workmanship warranty, providing a level of security that is rare in the industry. Clients can choose a complete end-to-end solution, covering design, supply, and installation, or opt for a design and supply package if they have their own trusted installers.
From initial home consultations through to detailed 3D visualisations, clients can clearly see their finished space before work begins, providing reassurance and confidence throughout. Ultimately, Cornflower Kitchens & Bathrooms is about more than just installing amazing interiors; it is about providing a professional, stress-free path to a better home.

This April why not move a little bit more and help keep your heart happy?
Move more month is as basic as it gets when it comes to fitnessthemed activities. It can be as simple as going on a walk when you might not usually, or even extending your normal dog-walking route. A bike can also be a great idea, as the spring starts as the sun comes up for longer each day a bike ride through the countryside, the seaside, or anywhere you like can be the perfect exercise. Within this little guide I’m going to help you set your goals for the month, track your progress and create a habit for life.
As indicated in the introductory paragraph, Move More Month is all about keeping your heart happy and healthy. We all know why heart health is so important, but to put it into perspective, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death around the world. Just 30 minutes a day, five days a week (150 minutes in total), can be enough to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Whether you think 150 minutes is a lot or not, it’s not always the easiest to fit into a busy schedule. This is where the simplicity of Move More Month shines—unlike other health challenges, Move More Month is simply about getting people out of the house. This can include a walk one day, a swim the next, maybe a bike ride or a gym session, and then you can freestyle the rest of the week.
One of the best ways to be and stay active is by joining a gym, No longer can your level of activity be dictated by the weather outside. Joining a gym can open you up to all sorts of exercises and classes. Going with a friend can be the best way to enjoy the gym for alot of people
Being more active is scientifically proven to support positive wellbeing by boosting what are known as our ‘happy hormones’ in the brain. Spending time outdoors is also shown to reduce stress and anxiety. So why not join us throughout April and move your way to a happier and healthier life?
Remember, it doesn’t matter how you move—just that you do it a little more often!
Moving more each day can work wonders for both body and mind. Regular physical activity boosts energy levels, improves heart health, and strengthens muscles and joints, making everyday tasks feel easier. It’s also a natural mood booster—exercise releases endorphins, reducing stress and anxiety while improving overall mental well-being. Staying active helps maintain a healthy weight, lowers the risk of long-term health conditions like diabetes and heart disease, and even improves sleep quality. . Social activities like group walks or dance classes bring people together, reducing loneliness and strengthening connections. Even small changes, like stretching in the morning or taking short walks, can improve posture, flexibility, and overall mobility. No matter the pace or intensity, every step towards a more active lifestyle leads to better health, more confidence, and a greater sense of well-being.
Making working out a Habit can be challenge for many people but there are a few ways to make it easier. My first tip would be to start small, going for a small run or maybe a long walk. Putting too much pressure on yourself to get into the habit straight away can be more detrimental than benaficial.
As the days and weeks go on you will find yourself falling into my habit, where people then tend struggle is after a long day or week where maybe they’ve been too busy that they done excersise. This can be a difficult time but putting too much pressure on yourself can be the downfall. Allowing for a week off and getting back to it the next week is the best thing you can do.

Setting goals is probably one of the most important aspects of a fitness jounrey. Hitting your 150 minutes a week is a great first goal. adding extra, smaller or more specific goals can be a great way to track your progress. Some that I would suggest would be to go on longer bike rides or walks. Another way to measure your progress could be timed actvity; tracking how long it takes you to run 3K or 5K and then comparing your times over the weeks. Seeing this progression can be very motivating and keep you going in those weeks where it can be tough.
Exercising with a friend or parter can be benaficial for multiple reasons. Accountability is the first big benafit, even on those days where you might not feel up for a walk or run having that othr person can give you the motivation to do some activity andd maybe have a catch-up at the same time. Joining a local gym can also be the perfect way to get into fitness, if you find the gym intimidating then being with a friend or partner can help dampen that felling and get you in the right head space to do a workout.

Once Move More Month is over, you might find yourself forgetting why you started this fitness journey in the first place. The aim is not just to hit your goal and stop, but to aim higher and continue progressing towards a healthier and happier life. The real question is why not? Move More Month is the perfect place to start ro get back into exercising regularly.
The benefits of moving more are clear: increased endorphins, seeing your surroundings in a new light, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications. So, join in this April, and let’s all reach our goals together.

Got it — here’s a continuation that flows naturally with your editorial rather than switching into a “fact list” format:
One of the most important things to remember throughout all of this is that movement doesn’t have to be perfect to be effective. There will be days when you feel motivated and energised, and others where even the thought of getting up and out feels like a challenge. That’s completely normal. The key is consistency over perfection. Even a short walk or a quick stretch is still progress, and those small efforts quickly begin to add up over time.
It’s also worth thinking about how movement can fit into your lifestyle, rather than trying to completely reshape your routine overnight. For some, that might mean walking to the shops instead of driving, taking the stairs where possible, or setting aside time in the evening to unwind with a gentle walk. For others, it could be something more structured like a weekly class or a regular gym session. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, and that’s what makes Move More Month so accessible—it works around you.
As the weather improves and the days grow longer, April is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of everything Plymouth has to offer. From coastal walks to green open spaces, there’s no shortage of places to get moving while enjoying your surroundings. Exercise doesn’t have to feel like a task; it can just as easily be a way to explore, socialise, and reset after a busy day.
You may even find that once you start, the benefits go far beyond the physical. Improved focus, better sleep, and a clearer mindset are all common side effects of becoming more active. It’s not just about hitting a target or completing a challenge— it’s about creating a lifestyle that supports both your body and your mind.
So as the month unfolds, take it one step at a time. Celebrate the small wins, stay patient with yourself, and remember why you started. Whether it’s for your health, your happiness, or simply to feel a little more energised each day, every bit of movement matters.

From loyal dogs waiting patiently by the front door to curious cats perched on windowsills watching the world go by, pets are woven into the everyday rhythm of life in homes across Plymouth. As April arrives, the UK marks National Pet Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the companionship animals bring to our lives while encouraging responsible pet ownership.
For many of us, pets are far more than animals who live in our homes. They are companions on coastal walks along the Hoe, enthusiastic partners on muddy adventures across Dartmoor, or comforting presences curled beside us on the sofa after a long day. Their loyalty, affection and often comical personalities make them part of the family, and National Pet Month offers a moment to recognise just how much they enrich our lives.
The benefits of having a pet extend well beyond companionship. Numerous studies have shown that spending time with animals can reduce stress, improve mental wellbeing and encourage people to stay active. Anyone who has taken a dog for a brisk walk around Plymouth’s waterfront or along the many green spaces in and around the city will know how easily pets can encourage us to step outside, breathe in the fresh sea air and connect with the world around us.
National Pet Month also reminds us that caring for animals carries responsibilities. Providing the right food, regular exercise, routine veterinary care and a safe, loving environment are all essential

parts of giving pets the lives they deserve. The campaign promotes the idea that a happy pet is one whose needs are fully understood and met—something that every responsible owner strives to achieve.
Across Plymouth and the surrounding area, there are many organisations and businesses dedicated to supporting pet welfare. Local veterinary practices, pet shops and grooming services help keep animals healthy and comfortable, while charities and rescue centres work tirelessly to rehome pets who need a second chance. Their work highlights another important message of National Pet Month: adoption can be a wonderful way to welcome a new companion into your life while giving an animal a loving home.
For families considering bringing a pet into their household, the month also provides a valuable opportunity to reflect before making such a commitment. Choosing the right animal for your lifestyle is crucial, whether it’s a dog that needs long daily walks, a cat happy to roam and explore, or smaller pets that require their own specialised care. Thoughtful decisions at the start can ensure many happy years for both owners and animals alike.
Plymouth’s location makes it an especially enjoyable place to own a pet. From the sweeping views of Plymouth Sound to the nearby countryside and coastal paths, there is no shortage of places for dogs and their owners to explore together. Even a simple stroll through one of the

city’s parks can become a social occasion, with friendly conversations sparked between owners whose pets have already made introductions.
Perhaps that is one of the quieter joys pets bring into our lives— they connect people as well as households. Dog walkers chat on the promenade, neighbours exchange advice about pet care, and communities come together to support local animal charities and events.
As National Pet Month begins this April, it offers the perfect moment to celebrate the animals who share our homes and brighten our days. Whether your pet greets you with a wagging tail, a contented purr or a cheerful chirp, they remind us daily of the simple value of companionship.
After all, in a busy world, the unconditional affection of a pet is one of life’s most reliable comforts—and something well worth celebrating.

Most responsible pet owners worry about what will happen to their pets after they are gone, but few leave any instructions in their Wills for their care. Thankfully Gables offers a free service that will take care of your pet/s when the time comes. This gives you peace of mind and your pet/s a secure and happy future.

A partnership where everyone is accountable and everyone is accounted for is what will help to change the future of our planet. Businesses, governments and citizens, and it needs to happen now. Earth Day 2026 is all about ‘Investing in our planet’, whatever it takes, collectively, we can make a huge difference.
Here are some easy changes that you could make to your daily life that will collectively make a huge difference.
How much does your carbon footprint impact the planet? Visit footprint. wwf.org.uk and answer the simple questionnaire to see how you impact the earth daily. You will get a full breakdown so you can see which areas you can change and improve to help you cut down on nasty emissions. The site has tips to help you become greener and there’s even a free app so you can really challenge yourself.
consoles, even on standby these naughty appliances are still eating up energy. Get a smart meter installed so you can keep track of your energy spending habits, this one is not just great for the planet but your wallet as well.

Around 26% of our carbon emissions come from our home energy so what can you do to help.
Check your boiler, windows, and insulation and see if it’s up to date with the new green standards, if it’s not you may qualify for a government scheme to help you green your home. Check your energy supplier, many of the major energy suppliers now offer 100% renewable energy, which may even be at a cheaper rate than your current fossil fuel! Turn off those lights, phone chargers, TVs, and games
To avoid your food having its own plane ticket try and shop for locally grown produce, here in the Southwest we are extremely lucky to have so many local meat and veg providers. Reduce your food waste by planning your meals ahead of time and always freezing your leftovers to reheat later.
Fast fashion is a leading cause of climate change with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change calculating that the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions each year and using 1.5 trillion litres of water annually. Avoiding fast fashion brands that promote cheap, trendy clothes that go out of style quickly and instead by vintage or recycled clothes, websites such as Depop are a great way to help avoid clothes ending up in the tip. Buy quality clothes from brands that have sourced their materials ethically, good
brands will have a climate statement on their websites so you can read exactly where the company ethos lies.
The climate change reports that we hear about on the news are very scary and it’s easy to get wrapped up in the bleak future that our planet is headed for and give up hope entirely. However, it’s still not too late to make a huge difference. We hope that by making these small yet conscious changes, we will be able to enjoy our beautiful planet and the wildlife on it for much longer.

Here are some alarming facts about climate change that you may not be aware of.
When forests are cleared or burnt they release carbon dioxide, deforestation is responsible for 12%of all global greenhouse gas emissions. Deforestation impacts 1.6 billion rural people worldwide who rely on forests for their livelihoods. Every six seconds the world losses a piece of primary rainforest the size of a football field and more than half the world’s tropical forests have been destroyed since 1960. a leading cause of deforestation is commercial agriculture, this industry accounts for 40% of all deforestation.
800 million people are currently vulnerable to climate change, which is 11% of the world’s population. Worldwide people have lost homes and livelihoods because of the direct impact of climate change. Floods, heatwaves, droughts, and rising sea levels are all having devastating consequences on people’s lives. Bonus Fact, if climate change is not tackled, parts of Plymouth could be underwater by 2050!
Our oceans absorb around 30% of the carbon dioxide produced by humans, helping to slow the effects of climate change. However, this comes at a cost. Increased carbon dioxide levels are causing ocean acidification, which makes it harder for marine life such as corals and shellfish to survive. Coral reefs, often referred to as the “rainforests of the sea,” support around 25% of all marine species, yet they are rapidly declining due to rising temperatures and pollution. Warmer oceans are also leading to more intense storms and disrupting marine ecosystems that millions of people rely on for food and income.
Every year, around 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans. This not only harms marine life but also enters the food chain, eventually impacting human health. Singleuse plastics are one of the biggest contributors to this issue, with items like bottles, packaging, and bags taking hundreds of years to break down. Small changes such as using reusable bags, bottles, and containers can significantly reduce the amount of waste we produce and help protect our environment.

Climate Change is making our planet warmer at a faster rate compared to the previous 10,000 years, this warming has left many animals unable to escape to cooler climates to avoid extinction. One-third of all animals and plant species could be extinct by 2070 because of the changes in the atmosphere caused by anthropogenic climate change. The latest research by scientists shows that humans are responsible for bringing about a sixth mass extinction event.
Global energy demand continues to rise, with much of it still being powered by fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas. These energy sources are the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. Transitioning to renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and hydro power is essential in reducing our impact on the planet. The UK has already made progress in this area, but there is still much more to be done to create a fully sustainable energy system for the future.
While large-scale change is essential, individual actions should not be underestimated. If everyone made small adjustments to their daily routines—reducing waste, conserving energy, and making more sustainable choices—the collective impact would be enormous. Communities coming together can drive real change, influence businesses, and encourage governments to take stronger action on climate issues.

On December 12th, 2015 countries came together in Paris to address climate change and the Paris Agreement was born. The agreement, which was signed by 195 countries, aimed to reduce emissions of gases that contribute to global warming. The objective of the agreement was to limit greenhouse gas emissions to levels that would prevent global temperatures from increasing more than 2 degrees above the temperature benchmark set before the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Since the signing of the agreement, scientists have discovered that the given the risks to our planet, and aim for 1.5 degrees limit is necessary.
There is still reason for optimism. Advances in technology, growing awareness, and increased global cooperation are all helping to tackle climate change. From electric vehicles to innovative recycling solutions, new ideas are constantly emerging to support a more sustainable way of living. By continuing to educate ourselves and take action where we can, we all play a part in shaping a greener, healthier future for generations to come.

As soon as the sun begins to make more of an appearance, something inside of us tells us, it’s time for a thorough clean of the house! We have gathered the best tips to keep your home clean and tidy.
You know the saying ‘Tidy kitchen, tidy mind’. This goes for not only the kitchen, but all of the rooms in your house. When you have clutter free space, you instantly feel calmer and more relaxed, and by having less clutter, it becomes easier to tidy up every day.
It is important to be mindful when clearing out your unwanted belongings as it will just add to an ever-increasing landfill problem. When doing a clear out, make 4 piles; Bin, recycle, give away and put away.
Bin- The bin is for anything that cannot be recycled and is broken or very used, however, this should be a last resort.
Recycle - Clothes and shoes can be recycled by various retailer-run recycling programmes or at your clothes and shoes local recycling bin. Broken items of
furniture or damaged electrical appliances can be taken to your local recycling centre. If you are unsure where your local recycling centre or bin is, head to www. recyclenow.com, here they have a useful search tool to find out what types of items you can recycle and where.
Before throwing anything out, ask yourself if you could make anything new from the item. Upcycling is a great way to turn unwanted items into something tailored to your style. Whether that be a dress that you’d like to sew into a top or a cupboard that needs some updating. This is not only an eco-friendly way of adding new life to old items, but it can also be a lot of fun and you can learn a new skill along the way.
If you are unsure about upcycling, there are plenty of inspirational and educational

videos on home DIY’s on YouTube to avoid any mistakes.
Give Away- Anything that you don’t use that isn’t faulty or too damaged can go in this pile. When making this pile, think about who you want to give or sell it to.
Charity shops are always after new clothes to sell and they will happily take your unwanted belongings. You can take your clothes to your local charity shop or a charity shop in particular that you’d like to support once they are open on the 12th April. You can also deliver your items to a charity of your choice free of postage charge. Charities such as British Heart Foundation are asking you to use their freepost service and other charities have asked you to hold on to your items until the shops are able to re-open.
Somebody in your family or a close friend might take it off your hands and put it to good use, it’s always worth asking them.
If it is in good condition, you could sell it on various 2nd hand shopping sites such as; eBay, Vinted, Depop, Gumtree or Shpock. Make sure the images are clear, the description is honest and don’t forget about the postage and packaging costs.
Put Away- And finally, anything you still need but not for a few months can go into storage. To make things easier for your future self, put the items into a reusable heavy duty plastic box/ bag or a large cardboard box and write exactly what is inside. You may think you have a great memory, but a few months will

pass, and you will have completely forgotten what’s inside!
Putting the things, you use frequently away correctly is just as important. Now that you have cleared your unwanted belongings, try to put things back in an organised manor. Bring items you use frequently to the front, so they are easily accessible and try to hide messy items. Depending on the items, often you can organise and hide messy belongings by using different types of storage items.
Built in storage, desk organisers, cable organisers, storage friendly furniture, decorative baskets and different sized storage boxes are just some examples of storage to keep your house looking tidy.

Now that the clutter has been tackled, it’s time to get cleaning.
You may think you need a different cleaning product for every different surface in your house but despite what Mrs Hinch says, constantly buying plastic bottles is not good for the planet and it also adds unnecessary clutter. Stick to one multi-surface cleaner and cloth for the whole house and only buy purpose made products when you need them. Even better still, you can purchase reusable glass bottles to avoid plastic and opt for products such as, multi-purpose refill sachets by Ocean Saver or concentrated disinfectant such as Zoflora which you only need to use a small amount at one time. Once you have used up all of your other cleaning products and correctly recycled the bottles, you will have a clean and tidy cupboard under the sink.
If you are really struggling to find some motivation to clean, put some upbeat music on, or attempt to clean whilst you’re waiting for the dinner to cook in the oven. More often than not, you will be surprised how quickly things can be cleaned when there is a time limit. Dusting should be done frequently, and it really helps if your space is clear of clutter to get the job done quicker. Along with dusting, a thorough vacuum around the whole house will help to lift the carpets and get rid of dust and dirt.

Along with your all-purpose spray, use the natural properties of lemons to your advantage.
Wipe away any bad smells from the fridge with a slice of lemon and give it a thorough clean getting rid of any bacteria with the all-purpose cleaner. Take all of the contents out of the fridge, if you have a large fridge, take out sections at a time to avoid the food getting warm. I would recommend doing this just before a food shop as there will be less food in the fridge.
When cleaning the inside of the microwave, cut up a lemon and put it in a bowl of water, set the microwave to 2 minutes or until the water is boiling and the glass is steamed up then leave the water in the microwave to cool down. Once it’s cool, take it out and give the inside and outside a wipe and it should now smell lemony fresh!
Wash your household fabrics- Check the label and follow the correct washing guidelines to ensure you don’t damage the item. Having clean fabrics around the house will not only kill any odour and bacteria but it will also give off a nice smell.
The oven is the one household appliance that we all dread to clean as there are hard-to-reach areas and they get very greasy. Depending on your oven, there will be an instructions manual on how to clean it, so we recommend following this to ensure the best results for your oven. Once you finished cleaning the main oven and hobs, don’t forget about the extractor fan. There is often a detachable element which enables you to clean it thoroughly.
After you have tackled the house, don’t forget to give your car a little spring clean too!
With these tips and suggestions, we hope to make this year’s spring clean a little easier for you whilst helping you to think more eco-friendlier.

We have tried and tested these recipes incorporating some of the best seasonal veg!
Serves - 4
• 75g young broad beans (can use frozen)
• 2 x 100g pack asparagus tips
• 170g peas (use frozen if you can’t get fresh)
• 350g spaghetti or tagliatelle
• 175g pack baby leeks, trimmed and sliced
• 1 tbsp olive oil, plus extra to serve
• 1 tbsp butter
• 200ml tub fromage frais or creme fraiche
• handful fresh chopped herbs (mint, parsley and chives)
• parmesan, shaved, to serve

1
2

Bring a pan of salted water to the boil and put a steamer (or colander) over the water. Steam the beans, asparagus and peas until just tender, then set aside. Boil the pasta following pack instructions.
Meanwhile, fry the leeks gently in the oil and butter for 5 mins or until soft. Add the fromage frais to the leeks and very gently warm through, stirring constantly to ensure it doesn’t split. Add the herbs and steamed vegetables with a splash of pasta water to loosen.
3
Drain the pasta and stir into the sauce. Adjust the seasoning, then serve scattered with the cheese and drizzled with a little extra olive oil.
Serves
• 750g small new potato, thickly sliced
• 750g frozen pea and beans
• 3 tbsp olive oil
• zest and juice of 1 lemon
• small pack mint, leaves only
• 4 salmon fillets about 140g/5oz each
1
Boil the potatoes in a large pan for 4 mins. Tip in the peas and beans, bring back up to a boil, then carry on cooking for another 3 mins until the potatoes and beans are tender. Whizz the olive oil, lemon zest and juice and mint in a blender to make a dressing(or finely chop the mint and whisk into the oil and lemon).
2
Put the salmon in a microwave-proof dish, season, then pour the dressing over. Cover with cling film, pierce, then microwave on High for 4-5 mins until cooked through. Drain the veg, then mix with the hot dressing and cooking juices from the fish. Serve the fish on top of the vegetables.

INGREDIENTS
• 175g caster sugar
• 175g rhubarb, halved lengthways then diced
• 2 tbsp sunflower oil
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 125ml buttermilk
• 200g plain flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
For the crumble topping
• 50g light muscovado sugar
• 50g plain flour
• 25g porridge oats
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 50g butter
1
Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7.
Line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper muffin cases. Stir the sugar and rhubarb together and set aside while you make the crumble topping. Mix together the muscovado sugar with the flour, oats and cinnamon, then rub in the butter until clumpy with your fingertips.
2
Stir the oil and egg, vanilla and buttermilk into the sugary rhubarb (don’t worry if it’s a little bit juicy). Now, add the flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda and stir well.

3
Quickly spoon into the cases, then scatter each with a thick layer of the crumble mixture. Bake for 15-18 mins until golden and a cocktail stick poked into the centre of a muffin comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
Serves - 2
INGREDIENTS
• 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 avocado
• 50g feta

1
2
3
• 1 tsp chilli flakes
• juice ½ lemon
• 2 slices of sourdough
Fill a large saucepan with water, add the vinegar and bring to a hard boil over a high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat so the water is simmering, then use a spoon to swirl the water into a whirlpool. Crack in both eggs and cook for 2 1/2 mins.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mash the avocado, feta, chilli flakes and lemon juice, and season well with black pepper. Toast the bread.
Pile the avocado and feta on the toast, then put a poached egg on top of each.
