FAST FINGERS 22 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The official announcement is here: Fast Fingers 22, the Fingerboard World Championship, is set to take place June 20th, 2026 at Blackriver HQ in Schwarzenbach, Germany.

As one of the longest-running and most respected competitive fingerboarding events in the world, Fast Fingers continues to set the bar for international competition. With riders traveling from across the globe and the championship returning to Blackriver’s home base, expectations are already high.

While more details are still to come, this announcement alone signals another major moment for competitive fingerboarding in 2026. Between global turnout, elite-level riding, and the legacy behind the Fast Fingers name, all eyes will be on Germany this June.

USAFBL USA FINGERBOARDING CHAMPIONS

USAFBL National Fingerboarding Champions

Mitch Rush, Tanner Hench, and Chris Daniels are officially locked in to compete at Fast Fingers 22, representing Team USA at the 2026 Fingerboarding World Championships.

Set for June 20th at Blackriver HQ in Germany, the world stage is calling and Team USA is answering. With three USAFBL champions heading overseas, this marks a major moment for American competitive fingerboarding and a powerful statement about how far the league and its athletes have come.

All eyes will be on Germany this summer as Team USA steps into global competition, carrying the momentum of USAFBL Nationals straight into the world championship spotlight.

FINGERSK8 IS MAKING ITS RETURN!

Established in 2010, FingerSk8 is making its return to the fingerboarding scene under new management.

The revived brand is preparing to re-enter the community with a mix of classic favorites and brand-new products, along with upcoming events as they rebuild their presence. Longtime supporters can expect familiar energy, while newcomers will get their first taste of what FingerSk8 is bringing to the table.

Keep an eye out, FingerSk8 is officially back, and this next chapter is just getting started.

DRUNK DRIVER CRASHED INTO INDEX

In the early morning hours around 1:30 AM on February 1st, 2026, a drunk driver crashed into the front window of Index Fingerboarding in Chicago during non-operational hours.

Thankfully, no one inside the shop was hurt. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and reports indicate minimal damage to the storefront. After inspections and repairs, Index reopened to the public just a couple of days later.

Much respect to the Index team for moving quickly and keeping the community rolling.

TICKETS FOR FINGERBOARD CON 5

Tickets for Fingerboard Con 5 went live Sunday, January 25th, and completely sold out in just five hours, possibly a first for the fingerboarding scene. The surge of traffic was so intense it crashed the ticketing site multiple times, a clear signal of how strong and fast the community is growing.

If there was ever any doubt, this moment proved it: the fingerboarding event scene is alive, thriving, and leveling up.

The Archivist of Plastic: Vinyl Mike’s STL Legacy

In the heart of St. Louis, Missouri, a collector known as Vinyl Mike is preserving the evolution of skate culture, one inch at a time. As the curator of Tech Deck Collection STL, Mike has turned a childhood passion that began at age thirteen into a premier digital archive of fingerboarding history.

Mike’s roots in the scene run deep, tracing back to the days of landing his first tricks at Ramp Riders and sourcing gear from Infinity Skate Shop. While he has been a fixture in the skateboarding world for decades, his focus on the fingerboard community has intensified over the last year. For Mike, the scene is more than a hobby; it is a giant family that transcends backgrounds and ages.

The collection serves as a visual bridge across generations. By showcasing the intricate artwork and branding of various eras, Mike provides a sense of nostalgia that resonates with veterans and newcomers alike.

“I get messages every day asking to see certain boards because they were someone’s first skateboard or first fingerboard,”

The impact of his work was solidified when Tech Deck themselves reached out via Instagram to acknowledge the collection’s significance, even sending a massive contribution to add to his archives. This recognition has sparked collaborations with various companies and inspired a new generation of kids to start their own collections.

From vintage classics that sparked your childhood passion to modern releases, we explore the history of the boards, the skaters, and the artists behind them. What started at local spots like Ramp Riders and Infinity Skate Shop has grown into a community recognized by Tech Deck itself.

Whether you are a lifelong skater or a new collector, join us as we preserve the legacy of the scene.

THE ARCHITECT OF WDWRKS

Hailing from Manila, Philippines, Titus Radam is the creative force behind WoodWorks Fingerboard Ramps, better known in the scene as WDWRKS fb. While he holds down a standard nine to five customized merchandise (shoes, bags, etc.) on commission, his true hours are spent as a visual artist and ramp builder. Radam approaches obstacle creation with the eye of a painter, transforming industrial wood and household scraps into functional aesthetics. His journey traces back to the early 2000s. A generic plastic board sparked a fascination with skateboarding culture, leading him to mimic ramps seen in Thrasher using Formica scraps from his grandfather’s carpentry work. The game changed when his uncle introduced him to a customized wooden deck with bearing wheels. It was a glimpse into the future of the hobby. Radam officially hit the market in 2019. His initial goal was simple. He wanted to provide accessible gear for beginners using found objects and

aluminum coping. When the pandemic wiped out his day job, he doubled down on the craft. He accepted online commissions and navigated the limitations of the lock-down by utilizing whatever materials were available. To his surprise, the veteran community embraced the raw DIY ethos just as warmly as the newcomers.

Today, the brand is a staple sponsor for postpandemic events across the country. Radam admits he is rarely seen at these gatherings. Between family, work, and production, sleep is a luxury, and his introverted nature keeps him in the workshop. Yet he remains deeply connected

to the scene through his work. He views every ramp as a collaborative bond between builder and rider. As long as the trust remains, Radam plans to keep pushing the local scene forward, one obstacle at a time.

CUMBRIA’S FINEST: A PROFILE ON CARL GILL

Rider O.T.M.

In the quiet, scenic landscape of Carlisle, Cumbria, located in the far North West of England; a new chapter of fingerboarding history is being written by Carl Gill. At 30 years old, this proud father and lifelong skateboarder has successfully bridged the gap between the concrete parks of his youth and the technical world of fingerboarding. Over the last four years, Carl has transformed a hobby into a high-profile career, proving that authenticity and a sharp eye for detail are the ultimate currencies in this scene.

Carl’s journey into the spotlight began organically. Drawing on years of experience on skateboarding, he began posting edits that stood out for their gritty realism and professional camera work. His ability to translate “real-skate” physics to the small scale did not go unnoticed. Today, he represents some of the most respected names in the industry.

The Sponsorship Trifecta

Carl’s current setup is a testament to his skill and influence within the community:

MILKSHAKE FINGERBOARDS: As a premier deck sponsor, Milkshake has honored Carl with his very own pro-model graphic, cementing his status as a pillar of their team.

JOYCULT WHEELS: Known for their premium urethane and pursuit of realism, Joycult welcomed Carl to their flow team. His style perfectly aligns with their mission to make fingerboarding feel as close to skateboarding as possible.

FISH TAPE: Providing the essential connection between rider and board, Fish Tape supports Carl with their high-performance foam grip.

Beyond the digital edits, Carl is a frequent face at UK events, where he supports his brands and connects with the growing community. For Carl, fingerboarding is about more than just tricks. It is about the people he meets and the creative outlet it provides alongside his love for guitar, singing, and mountain biking. With a pro model under his belt and a passion that shows no signs of slowing down, Carl Gill is a reminder that you never have to outgrow the things you love.

Sometimes the most unforgettable parks aren’t made from wood, concrete, or marble. Sometimes, they’re made from ice.

This month’s Park of the Month takes us to Media, Pennsylvania, where an entirely icesculpted fingerboard park appeared during Ice on State, a winter community event that brought art, skating, and creativity together in freezing temperatures.

The Ice Sculpture Skatepark was created as part of a fundraiser for the Delco Skate Park Coalition, helping raise money toward building an adaptive skate park for the local community. That alone makes this project special, but the execution pushed it even further.

The park itself was crafted by local artist Peter Slavin and generously supported by Sonny’s Vintage Clothing. Every ledge, transition, and feature was carved from solid ice, turning fingerboarding into a true winter sport.

Attendees could donate $20 to receive a branded fingerboard, which were donated by @3potato4, giving people a tangible way to support the cause while sessioning one of the most unique parks we’ve ever seen.

The event ran January 24th and 25th, with temperatures topping out at just 17 degrees. Snow fell throughout the entire second day, creating a surreal backdrop as riders hit frozen obstacles while bundled up in winter gear. It wasn’t just cold, it was cinematic.

Projects like this remind us that fingerboarding doesn’t have to live inside the same four walls or follow the same formulas. This park existed for a moment, served a purpose bigger than itself, and then disappeared, leaving behind memories, photos, and funds for something permanent.

That’s the magic.

Houston-based chef MIKE LOVE doesn’t just craft flavors; he builds worlds. While his days are spent in the heat of a professional kitchen, his soul belongs to the old-school aesthetic of monsters and fantasy. A dedicated father and husband, Mike has been addicted to the tactile flow of skating and fingerboarding since 1999.

Starting with a plastic Tech Deck like most kids of the late 90s, Mike’s passion was reignited eight years ago when he discovered the thriving community beyond the mainstream boards. This realization transformed a childhood hobby into a lifelong addiction. For Mike, the appeal lies in the miniature. He found that even during difficult times, the board offered a portable sanctuary where he could land tricks with more precision than on a full-sized setup.

As a self-described “introvert and a bit of a loner,” art became Mike’s primary bridge to the world. His style is rooted in American Traditional tattoo culture, teeming with creatures born from a desire for escapism. He recalls being kicked out of church as a child for drawing on his skin, a rebellious spark that eventually fueled his work in skateboard graphics and clothing design.

Mike views his art as a way to share his love for animals and fantasy, aiming to make people smile through his creations. He treats his contributions to the scene as a passion project rather than a career, valuing the simple joy of seeing his monsters on decks and apparel. Currently, he is balancing his culinary career with new art pieces and collaborations with various companies. For Mike, being involved in the fingerboarding scene is less about the spotlight and more about the connection found in a shared, miniature world.

Culinary Creatures: The Miniature Worlds of Mike Love

Kevin Woods: True to the Lifestyle

Kevin Woods, known to the community as Davinci Caso, is a pillar of the Michigan fingerboard scene. At 29 years old, the Westland native has spent nearly two decades honing a craft that began with early 2000s Tech Deck tutorials. Today, he is a multi-talented musician, songwriter, and professional fingerboarder whose approach to the hobby is rooted deeply in the authentic art form of skateboarding.

Woods emphasizes style and grace above all else. His technique reflects a realistic approach, aiming to replicate the effortless flow and “gnar” of professional street skating. This dedication has earned him significant accolades, including a number one ranking in Michigan for Line of the Year and a fourthplace national ranking in Game of S.K.A.T.E. For Woods, the medals and USAFBL trading cards represent a hard-earned “stamp of approval” after 18 years of consistency.

His current sponsorships reflect his deep ties to the culture. Representing Cosmic Inertia, Pipsqueak Wheels, and Fattys World Prerolls, Woods views his board as an essential extension of himself. Whether he is managing Detroit City Skateboards or traveling to Toronto with his squad, he is constantly planting seeds for the future of the community. Even after losing a collection worth thousands to theft, his spirit remained unbroken. He notes that while boards can be taken, the skills and the “Michigang” pride remain.

Looking toward 2025, Woods is balancing a secret music project with his competitive career. He remains focused on his “King of the Plies” legacy and his mission to inspire the next generation. For Davinci Caso, it

is about more than just flipping wood. It is a lifelong commitment to a lifestyle where the music, the streets, and the fingerboard all meet.

NO FALL DAMAGE. NO FALL DAMAGE.

We’re not Quite GWAR” In an industry filled with polished acts and high production tours, there exists an art collective of rejects who pretend to play music known as HELL-O…

We’re Not Quite GWAR!!. The band recently sat down for an interview that began in a cloud of smoke and confusion. The members quickly realized the interviewer had actually intended to speak with the real GWAR.

Despite the mix-up and a recurring complaint about a missing big ball of crack allegedly stolen by Sleazy P Martini , the Scumdogs offered a glimpse into their world of blood, dinosaur trainers, and low expectations.

The Scumdog Roster

lineup of HELL-O features a collection of terrifying entities:

TELEPORTED ODERUS URUNGUS (Jason Lind man): Vocals, occasional bass, and phallus manipulation.

IMITATION BEEFCAKE THE MIGHTY (Tom Kapushinski): Bass, screams, and disembowel-

IMITATION JIZMAK DA GUSHA (Jade Knopf): Drums and skull crack

IMITATION FLATTUS MAXIMUS (Eric Melin): Rhythm guitar and beheading.

BLOTARD THE BASTARDUS (Markov Schuessler): Grunts, blood, and dinosaur trainer.

A Progression of Stupidity

The band’s history is less of a strategic rise to fame and more of a haphazard and unplanned stumble. According to Teleported Oderus, the members were once mere mortal humans who found life boring. They decided to do something even stupid er than what they could ever even imagine.

Imitation Beefcake was more candid about their creative process, suggesting they simply took someone else’s ideas. The band operates on a philosophy of fake it till you make it, maintaining an adequate level of musical proficiency while keeping audience expectations fairly low.

Memorable Mayhem: From Gor Gor to Comic-Con

The career of these Scumdogs is defined by irreverence and chaos. Their most cherished memories include: THE DINOSAUR: Blotard the Bastardus manages the band mascot, Gor Gor. The beast once famously overdosed on

THE DINOSAUR: Blotard the Bastardus manages the band mascot, Gor Gor. The beast once famously overdosed on crack and collapsed in a blood pit.

PUBLIC NUISANCE: Imitation Jizmak recalled promoting a show by mocking costumed attendees at a Comic-Con event in a public library. The band was eventually chased out by a librarian.

GREEN ROOM ANTICS: While most bands focus on setlists, Beefcake’s favorite moments involve the elusive deli tray and the simple joy of slapping each other in the green room.

The Fingerboarding Connection

For the readers of Plies Mag, the band addressed their specific history with fingerboarding. Blotard shared a legendary story of performing 50 grinds on the steel nipples of SLYMENSTRA HYMEN (Emily Rizer). He also claimed to have landed a fakie treflip revert over the Carlsbad grass gap during a past tour.

However, the rest of the band seemed slightly confused by the terminology, with Imitation Flattus Maximus noting that without crack or finger banging, the interview was barely worth the effort.

Future Outlook: New Music and Old Habits

When asked about upcoming projects, the band’s focus remains largely on their addictions and lust for blood.

MUSIC: Flattus mentioned they are working on new music for a potential fall tour.

ALTER EGOS: Teleported Oderus mistakenly took credit for the song Pink Pony Club. Blotard clarified this was written by their former version before they teleported through a portal.

CONNECT: Humans wishing to witness the carnage can follow them on Facebook at Hell-o we’re not quite gwar though they warn fans not to forget the dash.

The meeting concluded with a promise of a bigger crack rock and a deli tray for the next encounter, followed by a final command to commence the bloodletting.

REVIEWing

Hey it’s me Nova-Kane. checking out (Session) Shred Ledge ($36) & The Bleachers ($28) from Teak Tuning

First Impressions & Build Teak sent these over for me to test out, and right off the bat, the unboxing experience was solid. Everything was packaged up nicely, and I was genuinely surprised to see they had included more than one obstacle in the box.

The first thing that grabs your attention is the design. I really like how they utilized laser-cut wood and worked the acrylic into it. It creates a unique blend of materials that you don’t always see, giving the obstacles a very distinct, stylish look. Simply put, they feel well-constructed and solid in hand.

The Session: SO, HOW DO THEY ACTUALLY RIDE?

The Feel: The grinds on the acrylic feel slightly different than traditional metal or stone materials—in a good way. It’s an overall smooth and satisfying ride.

The Sound: If you like audio feedback, hitting grinds on the edge of the Shred Ledge offers that awesome “clickity-clack” sound that just hits right.

The Tricks: I found that nose and tail slides felt best on The Bleachers, while the Ledge is obviously the go-to for technical grinds.

I’ve been skating these solo, and they are a lot of fun on their own. However, if you have enough desk space to set up both, you can create a really awesome line for combos.

Value & Verdict In terms of the market, these definitely hold their own against other obstacles in the category. If you picked up a full “Sessions” line, you’d have a park with a really sweet, cohesive aesthetic.

Who is this for? Anyone looking to add a stylish look to their fingerboard area or collection would do well grabbing these.

Is it worth it? At $28, The Bleachers feel like a solid deal. The Shred Ledge is $36, which feels a little high, if they were both in the $25–$28 range, they would be an absolute steal. That said, I understand the higher price point on the ledge due to the complex design of the inlaid acrylic.

Final Thoughts If you are a fan of Teak, why not pick these up? Simply put these have a solid feel to them & are well constructed.

What I want to see next: I’d really love to try out their Quarter Pipes next. Those look super fun, and I’m sure Teak has even more unique options coming down the pipeline soon.
