È identità, comfort e autorevolezza. Se una divisa è scomoda, chi la indossa non potrà mai dare il massimo. Dietro un’uniforme che funziona davvero non c’è una sola figura, ma un processo. Il grande errore del settore è pensare che basti un bel disegno. Nel nostro iter sono coinvolti designer, tecnici dei materiali, produzione e consulenti operativi. Abbiamo incontrato dj Max Correnti, il personaggio tra i personaggi della Costa Smeralda, per parlare di musica

orinese, classe ‘64, in Sardegna dal 1991, l’anno del primo locale aperto a Capo Coda Cavallo, anche se a scrivere qualche pagina di storia della costa più blasonata dell’isola è stato il suo Blues cafè di Porto Cervo, aperto sino al 2010. Oggi il fondatore dell’agenzia McEventz, che ha formato circa una trentina tra dj, musicisti e cantanti che fa “ruotare nelle date commissionate”, collezionista di vinili («a casa mia a San Pantaleo ho 14mila dischi») ama ancora essere protagonista delle notti dei vip, tra una villa e uno yacht multimilionari, ma è sempre più convinto che fare buona musica faccia rima con avere buona testa. «Per fare musica, e insegnare ad amarla, ci vogliono testa, cultura e passione. Ma soprattutto cuore. Sono innamorato della musica e ho avuto la fortuna di vivere i suoi momenti d’oro. Parlo degli anni ‘70, ‘80 e ‘90, anni ricchi di protagonisti eclettici che ho incontrato, ascoltato, seguito, concerto dopo concerto, in tutto il mondo. Anni irripetibili certo, paragonati alla massificazione di oggi, all’appiattimento di stile e idee. Non è un canto nostalgico, ma una considerazione amara. Detesto l’improvvisazione. Mi fa tristezza vedere, purtroppo sempre più spesso, chi non ha nessuna cultura musicale e che per tentare di capire l’anima della musica si affida allo smartphone e, subito dopo si improvvisa dj. A loro dico: studiate prima, fate dopo. 35 anni fa ho scelto di fare questo mestiere proprio per il mio amore per la musica,

quella con la M maiuscola, che trascende i generi: ho amato, e amo, il rock e il jazz, il country e il punk e ho studiato ogni dettaglio di questo fare musica diversa proprio per poterla riprodurre alla consolle e poi insegnare a farlo. Ho letto una quantità immensa di libri, collezionato dischi, visto e rivisto documentari, assistito a centinaia di concerti. E nonostante tutto questo ho ancora la voglia e la curiosità di imparare e di insegnare anche. Ho istituito una Dj School nel comune di Arzachena e ho insegnato storia della musica applicata al vinile all’Accademia di Belle Arti dell’Università di Sassari. Percorsi molto impegnativi, difficili poi da conciliare con la professione di tutti i giorni, o meglio notti. Ma ho fatto la mia scelta: da capodanno a metà marzo faccio il dj in giro per il mondo - Stati Uniti, Europa, Caraibi - e ho una collaborazione importante con Viva Resorts by Wyndham come direttore artistico dei loro sei villaggi nella Repubblica Dominicana, Messico e Bahamas, e formo i dj locali (principalmente a Santo Domingo) che diventeranno i professionisti del futuro ai Caraibi. Invece d’estate torno nella mia Costa a fare ciò che ho sempre fatto ossia dj-set in ville, castelli e yacht privati, party e brand events. Mi capita a volte di andare anche a Milano a eventi privati, dove c’è bella gente e anche lì ho l’occasione per fare buona musica, mixando vinili e passioni. Con il cuore si intende».

We met Max Correnti, the man behind the music and one of the most recognisable personalities of the Costa Smeralda, to talk about his greatest passion: music Born in Turin in 1964, Correnti moved to Sardinia in 1991, the year he opened his first venue in Capo Coda Cavallo. Yet it was the legendary Blues Café in Porto Cervo, which remained open until 2010, that helped write some of the most memorable chapters in the history of Sardinia’s most glamorous coastline. Today, the founder of McEventz - an agency that coordinates a network of around thirty DJs, musicians and singers for events across Italy and abroad - and a passionate vinyl collector (“I have 14,000 records at my home in San Pantaleo”), continues to soundtrack the nights of international jet-setters in private villas and multi-million-euro yachts. At the same time, he remains firmly convinced that great music begins with knowledge, culture and passion. “To make music, and to teach people to love it, you need intelligence, culture and passion. But above all, you need heart. I am deeply in love with music and I was fortunate enough to experience its golden years. I’m talking about the Seventies, Eighties and Nineties decades filled with extraordinary artists whom I followed, listened to and met, concert after concert, all over the world. They were unique years, especially when compared to today’s homogenisation of style and ideas. This isn’t nostalgia; it’s simply an observation. What I cannot stand is improvisation. It saddens me to see, more and more often, people with no musical culture whatsoever trying to understand the soul of music through a smartphone and then immediately deciding to become DJs. My advice is simple: study first, perform later. Thirty-five years ago I chose this profession because of my love for music -

with a capital M. A love that transcends genres. I have loved, and continue to love, rock and jazz, country and punk. I studied every aspect of these different musical worlds in order to reproduce them behind the decks and later teach others how to do the same. I have read countless books, collected records, watched documentaries, attended hundreds of concerts. And despite all that, I still have the desire and curiosity to keep learning - and teaching.” This commitment to education led him to establish a DJ School in the Municipality of Arzachena and to teach the History of Music Applied to Vinyl at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Sassari. “Those were demanding projects,” he explains, “not always easy to reconcile with my daily - or rather nightly - professional life. But I made my choice.” From New Year’s Eve until mid-March, Correnti performs around the world, from the United States and Europe to the Caribbean. He also holds an important role with Viva Resorts by Wyndham as Artistic Director for six resorts across the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the Bahamas, where he trains local DJs - primarily in Santo Domingo - who will become the next generation of professionals in the Caribbean. Summer, however, always brings him back to his beloved Costa Smeralda. “That’s when I return to doing what I’ve always done: DJ sets in private villas, castles and yachts, as well as parties and brand events. Occasionally I’m also in Milan for private events, surrounded by great people and great energy. Those are moments when I can continue doing what I love most: creating good music, blending vinyl and passion. With heart, of course.”

VILLA Girasole Quando design e paesaggio diventano arte

mmersa tra i graniti scolpiti dal vento e la macchia mediterranea della Gallura, Villa Girasole nasce in Costa Paradiso come un raffinato esercizio di armonia tra architettura e natura. Il progetto firmato dallo Studio di Architettura Mario Dal Molin si sviluppa attraverso un linguaggio compositivo ispirato ai simboli geometrici delle antiche tradizioni mediterranee e gotiche, reinterpretati in chiave contemporanea attraverso forme circolari, raggiere e geometrie fluide che diventano il filo conduttore dell’intera abitazione. La villa si inserisce con naturalezza in un terreno complesso, caratterizzato da forti dislivelli e grandi rocce granitiche. Per ridurre al minimo gli interventi sul paesaggio, l’edificio è stato suddiviso in tre corpi distinti, ciascuno adattato alla quota naturale del terreno. Gradini, passaggi curvilinei e spazi articolati generano un continuo dialogo visivo con l’esterno, amplificando la percezione del paesaggio circostante. Il cuore della casa è la grande zona living, dominata dal camino scultoreo e aperta verso la terrazza coperta da travi a raggiera ridossata dal maestrale e la piscina a sfioro incastonata tra i graniti con spiaggia artificiale. La continuità tra interno ed esterno è enfatizzata dalle grandi vetrate apribili e dall’utilizzo degli stessi materiali tra ambienti indoor e outdoor. I materiali richiamano direttamente il territorio: il granito Giallo San Giacomo, il cotto spagnolo dai toni miele, il ferro Cor-Ten e i legni naturali costruiscono un’atmosfera sofisticata calda e profondamente mediterranea. Gli arredi su disegno, le appliques artigianali e i dettagli in ferro battuto evocano una raffinata estetica nord europea, mitigata dalla luce intensa della Sardegna. When Design and Landscape Become Art

urrounded by wind-sculpted granite and the Mediterranean scrub of Gallura, Villa Girasole rises in Costa Paradiso as a study in harmony between architecture and nature. The project, designed by Studio di Architettura Mario Dal Molin, draws on the geometric symbols of ancient Mediterranean and Gothic traditions - reread through a contemporary lens, with circular forms, radial patterns and fluid geometries that run through the entire house like a single thread. The villa sits naturally on a complex site, marked by sharp level changes and massive granite outcrops. To keep interventions on the landscape to a minimum, the building was split into three distinct volumes, each following the natural grade of the land. Steps, curved passages and layered spaces create a constant visual dialogue with the outside, sharpening the perception of the surrounding landscape. The heart of the house is the large living area - anchored by a sculptural fireplace, open toward a covered terrace with radial beams sheltered from the mistral, and an infinity pool set among the granite rocks with an artificial beach. Floor-to-ceiling operable glazing and a seamless use of materials between interior and exterior blur the line between inside and out. The materials speak directly of the land: Giallo San Giacomo granite, honey-toned Spanish terracotta, Cor-Ten steel and natural wood build an atmosphere that is warm, sophisticated and deeply Mediterranean. Custom-designed furniture, handcrafted wall lights and wrought iron details bring in a refined Northern European sensibility, tempered by the sharp light of Sardinia. L’Isola di Tavolara è una maestosa montagna calcarea che si innalza per 565 metri sul livello del mare. Dopo circa un’ora e mezza di cammino si raggiunge un luogo chiamato Pratone. Da questa incredibile terrazza naturale si può godere di una vista mozzafiato sul Golfo di Olbia. Pratone è accessibile seguendo un percorso attrezzato, una via ferrata. È necessario essere dotati di kit da via ferrata, casco e imbrago.Sebbene sia necessario l’utilizzo di attrezzatura tecnica, il percorso è adatto a chiunque abbia una buona condizione fisica e non soffra di vertigini. Dopo la via ferrata si raggiunge Punta Cannone, il punto più alto dell’isola. Da qui il panorama spazia da Capo Coda Cavallo al Golfo di Olbia, fino alla Corsica e alle Bocche di Bonifacio: uno spettacolo davvero indimenticabile. In vetta a Tavolara è prevista una sosta di circa 30 minuti, ideale per consumare il pranzo al sacco. Tavolara Island is a majestic limestone mountain rising 565 metres above sea level. After approximately one and a half hours of walking, the trail reaches a place known as Pratone. This extraordinary natural terrace offers breathtaking views over the Gulf of Olbia. Pratone is accessed via a protected route equipped with a via ferrata, making it essential to wear a via ferrata set, helmet and harness. Although technical equipment is required, the route is suitable for anyone in good physical condition who does not suffer from vertigo. Beyond the via ferrata lies Punta Cannone, the highest point of the island. From here, the panorama stretches from Capo Coda Cavallo and the Gulf of Olbia all the way to Corsica and the Strait of Bonifacio—a truly unforgettable sight. A stop of approximately 30 minutes is scheduled at the summit, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy a packed lunch. After the break, the descent begins.
