Picchiotti’s Gentleman 24 M speaks a retro language embodied by a modern, technologically advanced form. Created by LUCA DINI Design & Architecture, it blends heritage, elegance and contemporary solutions in a compact, content-rich design

Polished mahogany, visible steel, classic proportions. The Gentleman 24M constructs its identity through a language that looks to the past, shaped by the heritage of the Picchiotti brand, a respected and historic Italian shipyard now part of The Italian Sea Group. Its compact dimensions conceal a wealth of features and solutions that enhance the feeling of space on board.

The project developed through a collaboration with LUCA DINI Design & Architecture, which handled interior and exterior design, and the final result is a yacht that draws on the stylistic themes of 1960s motor craft, blending their materials, details and the rhythm of their surfaces into a coherent composition where memory and innovation coexist without overlapping.

The forward-standing superstructure and vertical bow and stern combine to trace a decisive profile. The design of the exterior spaces is based on the idea of constant movement – the main deck is designed to accompany guests from stern to bow in a seamless visual and functional sweep, with side corridors that establish a sense of order and proportion, strengthening the impression of being on board a craft that is larger than its actual length would suggest. a sea platform connected to a lounge that can be transformed into another cabin with bed (the sofa is convertible), bathroom, TV and air conditioning. An intensely appealing cabin, looking out onto the sea and affording exceptional privacy. It is linked to the rest of the yacht by a staircase from the cockpit. The cabin is also, in effect, an “extra” space the owner can use for storing water toys or as a screening room, gym and so on.

The stylistic language of the interiors draws openly on classic nautical tradition – cabinetry, cornices and panelling define the interiors – complemented by freestanding elements with a contemporary feel. The volumes are filled with diffuse, calibratable light that does not impact on their proportions. The overall impression is that of a floating residence, not a design object, where every choice helps generate a sense of domestic equilibrium.

In the version with three-cabin layout the interior dining area is on the forward main deck (above), the most visually striking area of the deck. The dark wood flooring and lighter walls create a dialogue of contrasts and depth, enhancing the perception of space. The materials are selfconfident and legible, with warm surfaces, glossy finishes and fabrics selected for their tactile quality rather than their visual effect. Even the most minute details, from taps to lights, sockets and switches, contribute to an overall design that emphasises coherence and a continuity of forms.

The layout is developed in two versions with three or four guest cabins. On the main deck the pilot house is raised and positioned centrally between the saloon and dining area forward (in the four-cabin version the owner’s accommodation occupies the bows). This solution provides the captain with exceptional visibility and a feeling of connection with the exterior, leaving the more scenic area in front for guests.

The interior headroom, between 2 and 2.30 metres, helps create a surprising perception of space and a feeling of on-board freedom. The lower deck guest cabins are designed as spaces for rest and calm. The crew quarters are further forward.

The yacht is built entirely in aluminium and is powered by a pair of 1,300 hp MAN engines providing a cruising speed of 16 knots and a top speed of 18 knots. Range is around 1,800 miles. picchiottiyachts.com
