and exterior design. The yacht was designed on spec on the basis of a hull that is already in production, interpreting the idea of a large sea-going coupé with a clear stylistic maturity. This is expressed by the long, streamlined bow, like the bonnet of a supercar, the ISA curve reinterpreted in a more dynamic key and the large, glazed surfaces typical of Gobbi designs, which on the main deck have a long line in steel that streamlines the shape. One of those details that make all the difference, like the air intakes on the base of the ISA curve, designed as if they are the taillights on Aston Martin, or the black 20 cm high openings that stretch from the windows along to the bow, lines that at night are emphasised by specially-designed lighting. It’s the perfect example of the principle that guides all the studio’s projects – first the shape, then the details that make it memorable. The same attention to detail is devoted to the interiors, an aspect where Gobbi has clear guidelines. “I love materials that dialogue with the exteriors, so there’s a lot of teak, completed by leathers and other organic materials and shapes, with no sharp angles”. The ISA GT 66m isn’t just a new project, it’s a synthesis of a vison that has developed during over twenty years of activity.
