The largest yacht ever built by the brand, the Ferretti Yachts 1000 revolutionises time spent on the water while showcasing ‘Made in Italy’ design and craftsmanship. This majestic, versatile and spacious motoryacht features a sporty exterior penned by Filippo Salvetti and a new interior concept developed by ideaeITALIA by Bryony Mc Cabe- ph. Alberto Cocchi

yacht is the ultimate form of escape, but sometimes the need for comfort and wellbeing can be lost to extravagance and showmanship. Today, a yacht should be a grounding and liveable space, and this is the philosophy behind Ferretti Yachts’ new flagship, which introduces a new elegant and modern interior concept where a sense of space prevails and a new way of experiencing the yachting lifestyle is presented. Versatile and suited to all markets, the Ferretti Yachts 1000 reshapes space and changes the whole approach to life on board with unprecedented design solutions and an interior mood developed to adapt to each owner’s various needs. Epic, the first Ferretti Yachts 1000, features ‘classic’ styling, with a mood defined by soft, balanced colour tones and subtle contrasts. The alternative option is contemporary styling, with fresh tones and bolder colours. At the heart of the project is the idea of unparalleled comfort and wellbeing in both outdoor and indoor areas. The concept of space and ergonomics is expressed by a generous saloon overlooking the water. Here, the relationship with the surrounding environment is intensified by large full-height windows that accentuate the feeling of contact with the water and let natural light flood in. Created using a new construction solution, the windows can be fitted on request with opening mechanisms on both sides to create a terrace-like sensation on the water. Continuous contact with the marine environment has a direct impact on wellbeing, and this idea is further reflected with a redefined stern concept consisting of 40sqm of liveable space. It is a beach club in the truest sense of the term, where direct access to the swim platform from the cockpit creates an outdoor wellness area close to the water’s edge: a new place for adventure and fun, where the owner can create their own experience in an unprecedented open space for socialising and enjoying the water. The suavely understated interior design, featuring clean lines and sophisticated materials, conveys a sense of refined luxury. The fine upholstery and fabrics create a pleasing sensation of softness, warmth and comfort that contrasts with the sheen of marble and glass. The ceilings throughout the yacht feature different materials and fabrics in the colour shade best suited to the space in question, ensuring optimum visual comfort as well. Entering the living space on the main deck reveals the use of the two contrasting types of wood featured throughout the boat. Walnut wood is deployed throughout the interiors in various ways: flame-coloured and bold for the furniture, striped and softer for the walls and ribbed for special accents. The play on contrasts between warm tones and paler, more delicate nuances is also echoed by the furniture. Designed by Minotti, they include a large Alexander model corner sofa upholstered in ecru fabric, a Side model low table with leather clad panels, a Zebrino marble top sunk into the structure and a Tape model velvet armchair. Born from an accurate analysis of the empathetic relationship between humans and space, the versatility of the Ferretti Yachts 1000 offers any owner an exclusive and personalised space to live in as their dream home, surrounded by the sea.

Teak is used widely: from the swim platform in the stern, it is reprised on the contours of the rear door, on the walkways and on the stairway up to the flybridge, as well as cladding the external helm station. erretti Yachts 1000 was a complex and fascinating challenge; designing the flagship for a storied and successful brand like Ferretti Yachts is both a pleasure and a responsibility. When you design a boat that forms part of a family, it is important to take a more organic approach, maintaining continuity with the past and looking at the evolutionary heritage of the brand’s lines and identity. It is essential to know how to investigate the distinctive features that have characterised it and contributed to its success, and to be able to recognise their full value in a process of unifying past and future. As a result, the yacht is a product that fully reflects the Ferretti Yachts philosophy; a combination of maritime spirit, functionality and elegance, with a style that is as pure and essential as it is aggressive. It is not just a question of style though, but more importantly of volumes and proportions, because a wide-body boat with incredible internal volumes like the Ferretti Yachts 1000 must be perfectly balanced and proportioned to stay sporty and dynamic. The idea behind Ferretti Yachts 1000 was to rethink traditional on-board flows. First of all, we eliminated the forward stairways in the midship section, creating two aft stairways halfway between the living area/cockpit and the lobby, separated by the lounge. This has enabled us to eliminate the dead spaces usually found in this area. By eliminating the forward stairways, we have recovered a huge amount of interior space in the owner’s area and galley, enabling us to open the entire lounge out onto the cockpit and then to the water. This is a highly versatile boat designed for the European and American markets, with a galley that can be opened up American-style for owners who want a more convivial experience on board, transformed into a bar for use as a living area or completely closed off for more privacy.

esigning the interiors of the largest boat ever built by Ferretti Yachts, in such a way as to recreate the comfort and intimacy typically found in a home, is a challenge that inspired us to explore new paradigms and new interior design moods for the yachting world. The brief was to offer the client the feeling of living in an intimate and familiar environment, while at the same time luxurious and exclusive, with a special focus on functionality and storage space. It had to be an interior that instils the same confidence in the owner as when they are in their own home. Italy, harmony, comfort, craftsmanship and refinement are some of the keywords that guided our definition of the style we wanted to permeate every setting with discretion and precision. The objects and historical periods that inspired us included classic Italian architecture, with all its tradition and variety, as well as Italian furniture design from the 1950s and 60s, which remains timeless and modern even today. The design of Ferretti Yachts 1000 has thus become a mix of elegance and sobriety that is contemporary but aligned with traditional stylistic features in both yachting and manufacturing. Materials and geometries blend together in harmony to convey the welcoming comfort of a familiar setting. The versatility of the interiors translates into a modular layout, where the freestanding furniture and accessories have a distinctly residential feel and leave the owner with plenty of scope for customisation. The ceiling geometries and materials, the design of the walls, and the details of the furniture all soften and lighten up the setting, make it even more welcoming. Our main focus was on the concept of space and ergonomics, creating a large living area directly overlooking the water, a galley the like of which has never been seen on a yacht of this size, and a master cabin that is unique in its kind.

erretti Yachts 1000 is the largest boat ever built by the brand. The product of a design process inspired by the search for perfection, the new flagship is a truly impressive project, made of talent and technology, the ability to innovate, and craftsmanship. Ferretti Yachts 1000 is the result of collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee led by Mr. Piero Ferrari, the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, architect Filippo Salvetti for the exteriors, and IdeaeITALIA for the new interior concept. Our focus with the project was on reshaping the spaces to rearrange the whole approach to life on board, creating a new design solution developed to adapt to the owner’s needs in terms of space. We now want to bring this new interior concept to all the brand’s models. Furthermore, the Italian signature is very effective in our product and something we wanted to keep as the distinctive feature of our future products. This is why we chose IdeaeITALIA, a firm that truly believes in ‘Made in Italy’. They also perfectly understood our needs in creating the Ferretti Yachts 1000: to give more space to the owner, but at the same time maintain all the details and all the comfort that is typical of the brand. Given her national premiere at the Venice Boat Show, visitors were unanimously and immediately impressed by the extremely elegant and comfortable interior and exterior design. Ferretti Yachts 1000 was also showcased in Monaco, during our Private Preview event dedicated to customers and prospects, and at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The feedback was resoundingly positive because the new owners required not only a ‘simple’ means of transport for holidays at sea, but a place to live, a space in which to find the aspects you love the most, and a place to spend your time with a feeling of home, and Ferretti Yachts 1000 represents all these features.
