TAKE PART AT PLATFORM

Platform offers a wide range of weekly workshops and classes, with something for all ages. These are welcoming, artist led and no experience is needed.

Sessions are offered on a Pay-What-You-Like basis allowing you to choose what to pay. Places must be booked in advance - book online, in person or by phone.

FULL HOUSE FRIDAYS: BINGO

Platform

Fridays | 12pm | £5 | 18yrs+

Join us for a game of bingo, bowl of soup, plenty of prizes and live performance! Music, stand-up comedy, arts, crafts and plenty more besides.

PERFORMANCE

Monday Night Drama

Mondays | 5.30pm-7pm

Weekly drama workshops for children and teenagers interested in performance, fun and creativity. Learn new skills and make some pals!

Platform Dance

Thursdays | 5pm for 8-11yrs

Thursdays | 6.15pm for 12-16yrs

Weekly dance classes open to children and teenagers with all levels of experience welcome. These classes support everyone to develop their skills and get involved in performances.

MULTIARTFORM

Play Café

Saturdays | 11.15am-12pm

Creative activities for early years, each week is different - join us for music, dance, theatre, arts and crafts for babies, toddlers and their adults. Healthy drinks and snacks provided.

VISUAL ART

Clack & Yak

Knitting Group

Mondays | 11am-1pm

ADULTS

Join this friendly group for a chat and cuppa whilst knitting, sewing or crocheting. Beginners welcome.

Painting Club

Tuesdays | 1pm-2.30pm

ADULTS

Skills development session with a focus on watercolour painting. Aimed at beginners and those wanting to get creative.

Art Factory

Tuesdays | 2.45pm-4pm

ADULTS

A space for adults to get creative with individual or group projects, exploring different materials and themes – all with one-to-one guidance.

Nu Gen

Tuesdays | 5pm-6.30pm

Art sessions for young people who enjoy drawing, painting, design and sculpture. A chance to experiment with materials and learn new skills.

Saturday Art Club

Saturdays

11am-12pm & 1pm-2pm

Art class for children offering a chance to be playful with materials and create artworks to take home.

Platform Singers

Fridays | 2.30pm-4pm

A weekly choral singing session that is friendly, fun and a great way to meet new people.

This year, we celebrate our twentieth birthday with 26 creative projects and live events. Each Made in Easterhouse. Each presents opportunities for you to join us and the artists we host to meet, have fun and make artworks and memories together.

FOUR CORNERS OF THE STUDIO

A group exhibition featuring Aspire artists Erin Keogh, Andrew McMillan, Struan Robb and Scott Smith. A vibrant selection of bold colourful paintings exploring themes of landscapes, nature and surroundings.

GLASWEGIANS

Cranhill Arts Project Sat 19 Sep – Sat 28 Nov

Free | all ages

Between 1989 and 1993, Cranhill Arts photographers captured 40,000 images of Glaswegians, offering a rare insider portrait. Restored by the community and funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund, this exhibition celebrates this new digital archive.

A performance that imagines children as political bigwigs with the power to make real change. A group of 11-year-olds in giant suits deliver a political manifesto written with young people from across Easterhouse.

Join two dancing chefs whose unusual cooking style features clowning antics, hilarious kitchen mishaps, and acrobatics. All the while, the audience choose ingredients for the chefs to create a unique pot of soup to share.

MAKE DO | ALMANAC LAUNCH

Drop in skills exchange session MAKE DO returns as part of Glasgow Climate Week and features an opportunity to explore the Easterhouse Almanac – a resource full of tips and ideas.

Multimedia project led by artist Keira McLean with filmmaker Caireen Stuart, animator Akvile Dirmauskaite and residents of Easterhouse - unearthing local histories through workshops which culminate in a special community performance. Part of Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Art.

20 YEARS

HANSEL & GRETEL

One snowy Christmas Eve, a man finds two little creatures on his doorstep. A goat, and a badger. Lost and alone. He takes them in, raises them as his own and calls them Hansel and Gretel.

But one day a mysterious power takes hold of the forest! Hansel and Gretel are, once more, lost and alone.

Join us for a gripping, festive story, groovy songs and plenty of silly jokes as we find out: what’s going on? Will Hansel and Gretel ever find somewhere to live happily ever after?

Platform, the arts centre at The Bridge in Glasgow’s east end, offers a year-round programme of music, performance and visual art alongside a varied Taking Part programme of workshops and classes.

We welcome audiences from across Easterhouse, the city and beyond - and our Local Links programme offers great discounts to those living in postcodes near Platform. Membership is free and you can enjoy a show for as little as £5.
