Glenwood Bands Concert Etiquette

For the performer to act professionally, you must:

• Dress appropriately.

• Do not wave to other people.

• Stay quiet and focused on the stage.

• Keep hands and feet to yourself.

Practicing the professional etiquette listed above helps you to be respectful of other groups performing and earn the respect of others while you are performing. Your hard work and talents need to be celebrated!!

For the audience member, you must:

• Sit quietly while waiting for the concert to begin. Talking is okay before the concert begins, but not during. Many people think that their whispering will be quiet enough, but this is not true. Many whispers create a large distraction.

• Applaud after each FULL piece has been performed. Some pieces have more than one movement. If you’re not sure, watch the conductor. His/ her arms will usually go down when the piece is over.

• Yelling, screaming, or calling out performer names is never appropriate.

• If you must leave, wait for the end of a piece. When returning, wait for the end of a piece before proceeding to your seat.

• Turn off/silence all electronic devices.

• Photos are okay; use discretion with flash photos as they can be distracting.

• Remove hats.

• Keep small children with you. If they are not able to remain quiet and seated with you, please bring them to the foyer.

THANK YOU for working together to help our Glenwood Eagles SOAR!
