DIRECTOR’S NOTE I can’t tell you how excited I am that you’ve decided to join us as Evil Dead runs for the 7th time! It has been an almost surreal journey having the incredible privilege to direct this show year after year. Not only have I watched its growth, I’ve watched the audience mature along with it. Think about where you were when we first opened in 2018. Yeesh... Kind of a lot’s happened since then! Every single person who’s worked on this show, both on stage and behind the scenes, has collaborated with each and every one of you, the audience, over the years. The result of that collaboration is what you’re about to see. Each year this company teams with the actors and the technical team to ensure that we give the audience exactly what they want. Louder. Funnier. Bloodier. Every single human who has worked on this show has made it what it is. That said, there are a few people I’d like to recognize as having been with me on this journey since day one here at PMT. Executive Director, Colleen Doyno had the bravery to green light Gemma Mitchell’s vision of an outside-the-box show for this company. Amber and Kevin Kocher have ensured that our props and set take you deep into the world of the Evil Dead movies. As PMT Tech Director, Jon Sage has worn whatever hat necessary on the tech team from set building to sound design. Christopher Patrick and his team have provided unrivalable blood and makeup effects. Brett Goodnack is forever inseparable from Ash Williams to me. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Pittsburgh loves a tradition. Here we have our very own Stairway to 7... Welcome to Pittsburgh Musical Theater and EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL! Whether this is your first trip into the woods with us or you’ve been brave (or crazy!) enough to come back year after year - we are thrilled to have you here. It’s hard to believe, but this marks our 7th year bringing this outrageously fun, wonderfully ridiculous, blood-splattered musical to PMT audiences! Evil Dead has become one of our favorite traditions, and every year it seems to get a little wilder, a little messier, and a whole lot more fun. There is something special about a show that lets us throw the rules out the window, laugh together, scream together, sing along in our heads, and - for those adventurous souls in the Splatter Zone possibly leave looking a little different than when you arrived! But underneath all the blood, chainsaws, demons, and mayhem is something we love at PMT: live theater bringing people together. There is nothing quite like sharing a completely outrageous experience with a tent full of people - and tonight, you are part of it. To our returning Evil Dead fans, welcome home! FOR OVER 35 YEARS, PMT has been an anchor in the musical theatre industry in the Pittsburgh region. Professional Productions feature local creative talent both on stage and in backstage roles. Truly unique and unmatched in the city, these productions also support PMT’s mission to provide mentorship and integrated opportunities with students of PMT Conservatory, creating a community of belonging and enhancing the vibrancy of our region. WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER) Allie Burns (Swing, U/S Annie, Cheryl) is thrilled to return to her favorite “Cabin in the Woods” for her 2nd year in PMT’s Evil Dead! Recent credits: Lily St. Regis, Annie (Pittsburgh Musical Theater); Fenton/Slender/ Dr. Caius, The Merry Wives of Windsor (Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Park); Maureen, RENT (Iron Horse Theater Company); Livy, Closing Time at the Moonside Cafe (Vigilance Theater Company). Winner! University of Michigan Thesis Award for her comedic film, Marys Anonymous, where she played six arguing Marys from the Bible. Recent training: Prague Shakespeare Company, the Barrow Group, Daina Griffith Coaching.

Joshua Clark (Swing, U/S Scott, Ensemble) is thrilled to be back at Pittsburgh Musical Theater debut! He is currently earning his BFA in musical theater at Point Park University. He was just seen as Connor Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen last spring and just finished as Chuck Cranston in Footloose and ensemble as well as Hans U/S in Frozen with Crane River Theater. Brecken Newton Farrell* (Scott) is back to play Scott again for his 5th year of Evil Dead! Recent credits include Legally Blonde (Warner) at Lincoln Park, Jesus Christ Superstar 2x (Jesus), and Jersey Boys (Bob Gaudio) both with Pittsburgh Musical Theater. In addition to theater, Brecken spends a lot of time in the music industry as a vocalist and guitarist, as well as working with several organizations that preserve veteran history. All glory God, and his eternal Savior. He thanks his parents, his brother, his girlfriend, and all other friends and family who have supported him his entire life. Brecken dedicates his life’s work to Elmer and Joanne Lauster, his late grandparents who loved nothing more than seeing him perform. Isaiah 40:31.

Maya Fullard (Ensemble) is so excited for round two of Evil Dead! Graduate of the 23’ BFA Acting class of Point Park University. Brett Goodnack* (Ash) Though he thought the sixth time was the charm, Brett somehow finds himself returning as Ash for a seventh round of Evil Dead - helped along, no doubt, by the few wonderful lunatics who have been in the trenches with him since the very beginning. At this point, he has poured a frankly unreasonable amount of blood, sweat, and tears into this production - emphasis on the blood, as his increasingly battered face can attest. He was last seen at PMT as Larry in Dear Evan Hansen, so the transition from grieving suburban dad to chainsaw-wielding idiot has been, if nothing else, a change of pace. By day, Brett is Associate General Counsel for a state bankers association; by night, he is an improviser, writer, actor, and increasingly tired man. As always, endless love and thanks to Caitlin, his family and friends, and Forest - the greatest dog a guy could ask for - for continuing to support this deeply questionable life choice.

Michaela Isenberg (Annie, U/S Shelly) is thrilled to be back at PMT for Evil Dead! BFA: Seton Hill University. Loren LaCash (Knowby, Moose, U/S Jake) is thrilled to be making their PMT and Pittsburgh debut in Evil Dead The Musical. Born in Spokane, Washington, this PNW actor has fallen in love with PA and plans to be here for the long haul! Recent credits include Detective Hanratty in Catch Me If You Can (Little Theatre of the Rockies) and Dave Bukatinsky in The Full Monty (Coeur D’Alene Summer Theatre). Other work: The Cascadia Treasure on Roku, and a tour with Saltworks Theatre Company here in PA. Loren studied at University of Northern Colorado where they were a two time Irene-Ryan Award finalist. Previous PMT credits include Heidi Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen, Jenna in Waitress, and Rizzo in Grease! Kamilah Lay (Linda) Wisconsin-native, Kamilah, is delighted to be back for the third year in this fantastic production. Previous PMT credits include Jesus Christ Superstar (Mary Magdalene), Once (Reza), and Waitress (Ensemble). Additional credits include Once (Reza) at Forestburgh Playhouse, Million Dollar Quartet (Dyanne) and 9 to 5 (Doralee) at San Luis Obispo Rep, and Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 (Ensemble, u/s Sonya) at Theatre Raleigh. Kamilah received her BFA in Music Theater from Illinois Wesleyan University. She extends endless gratitude to Colleen, Nick, Gemma, Francesca, and the entire team of dedicated professionals at PMT. Sabina May (Shelly, U/S Linda) is excited to be returning to the cabin this year! She is a recent graduate of Nazareth University with her BFA in Musical Theater. As a former conservatory student, Sabina is thrilled to be back performing with her forever friends. Ben Sheedy (Jake, Fight Director) is enormously grateful to have been allowed back into the cabin in the woods for a second year. He can be seen clad in football pads, eating gummy bears and speaking in an admittedly mismatched voice during television commercial breaks across the country. Allante Walker (Ensemble, U/S Ed, Moose) is pumped to be a part of this groovy cast! Originally from southern Wisconsin, Allante is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a BA in theatre and communications. Past PMT credits include Annie and Jesus Christ Superstar. Other recent credits include Assassins (The Proprietor), Company (David), Shrek the Musical (Donkey) and Into the Woods (The Baker). WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER) Collin Yates* (Ensemble, U/S Ash) is thrilled to be returning for his third production of Evil Dead here at PMT. While based in Pittsburgh Collin worked as an educator at PMT and appeared in various productions, including Million Dollar Quartet as Elvis Presley (2024), Jesus Christ Superstar (2025), and Dear Evan Hansen (2026). Other credits include Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story as Buddy Holly (Surflight Theater) Million Dollar Quartet Christmas as Elvis Presley (Little Theater on The Square), and most recently Once as Svec (Forestburgh Playhouse). Collin would like to thank his parents Holly and Bill, his siblings Riley and Liam, and his wife Kamilah for their constant love and support.

PRODUCTION CREDITS (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER) Colleen Doyno (Executive Director, Producer) has been with PMT since 1997. Ms. Doyno directed and choreographed countless shows for both the Professional and Conservatory theater companies. Several of these shows have been counted as the “Best of Pittsburgh” in the annual Pittsburgh Post-Gazette year in review; including the Conservatory Theater Company’s 2013 production of Miss Saigon, the first student show to be so honored. In 2013 Colleen’s achievements were recognized with the prestigious “Woman of Integrity” award and her commitment to mentoring young women into future leaders was honored when she was selected as a finalist for the 2013 “Athena” award. Ms. Doyno is a strong advocate for the development of the West End Community, which serves as PMT’s forever home. She has worked with Pittsburgh City Council, PA State and Allegheny County officials and the Mayor’s office to advance growth in the area. She has a deeply held belief in developing our children into healthy, self-assured, well-rounded individuals through the arts. This belief is at the heart of her educational philosophy and has guided the success of the conservatory under her direction. Colleen considers herself fiercely local and is dedicated to concentrating on the positive, found in each individual and each day that she faces. Jeremy Eiben (Costume Designer) M.F.A. 2023 Penn State University (Costume Design) B.F.A. 2019 Point Park University (Technical Theatre/ Costume Design) He is native to Pittsburgh, PA & has over a decade of experience as a designer, stylist, & fashion aficionado. His style embodies boldness & versatility & can cater to a wide clientele audience. His many interests include costuming, cosplay, & theatre. Jeremy is a freelance costume designer who has worked with multiple companies such as The Collective, Elsewhere Theatre, The Utah Shakespeare Festival, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, Pittsburgh Playhouse REP/Main Stage/JR./Dance, Penn State Centre Stage, Resonance Works, Upper St. Clair School District & Stage 62. Elena Falgione (Intimacy Coordinator) (she/her) earned her BFA in Musical Theatre longer ago than she’d care to say. She receives ongoing training from several different organizations, principally Theatrical Intimacy Education and Heartland Intimacy. Relationships and their care and keeping are an obsession of hers. Elena’s goal has been cultivating a consent-based space of acceptable risk, giving actors tools for self-advocacy and selfregulation, while mitigating the effects of power structures in the rehearsal room. Some of her favorite Intimacy Work is supporting actors in new plays and collaborating to create a character from the ground up, digging into how they express love physically.

Avery Ferrell (Makeup Artist, Wig & Special FX Team) graduated from the Tom Savini Special Makeup Effects Program and is a licensed esthetician. Working in the industry for three years doing bridal makeup, photo shoots, films and theater projects. She has done many shows with PMT.

Michael Fitzmaurice (Makeup Artist, Wig & Special FX Team) is a special effects artist who started with PMT four years ago on Evil Dead The Musical. Since then, not only has he done every production of Evil Dead The Musical but has also been a regular on the Hair and Makeup team for such shows as Grease, A Lyrical Christmas Carol, The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition, Sweeney Todd, Carousel, Jersey Boys, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. He was also on the SPFX team of the world premiere of Romero & Juliet for the upcoming horror film The River.

Amber Kocher (Props Master) hails from Pittsburgh, with her husband, Kevin and son, Brody. She is a graduate of Clarion University and is the Props Master, Set Dresser, Jack-of-all-Trades Resident Artist and theater mom at PMT. Favorite credits with PMT include Evil Dead The Musical, Disney’s Newsies, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Shrek, and more. Amber

Kevin Kocher (Associate Technical Director) has set designed several shows at PMT including Sister Act, Jekyll and Hyde, We Will Rock You, and Disney’s Newsies. He has also worked in various other technical positions at PMT and PMT Conservatory such as sound designs for Evil Dead The Musical (2019), Hunchback of Notre Dame (2019), and A Lyrical Christmas Carol (2019). Over the past several years Kevin has lead the Technical Theater & Design Program at PMT Conservatory, helping to educate students in technical theater design and application in full scale productions. Kevin attended Clarion University of PA and earned a B.S. in Education and studied theatrical design and direction.

Gemma Mitchell (Choreographer, Production Stage Manager) is drop-dead thrilled to return to this legendary PMT production as the coordinator of the groovy moves these Deadites are slaying. She welcomes YOU to the PMT Experience in Pittsburgh’s West End! Her favorite PMT credits include…all of them from the past eighteen years! To name just a few: Newsies, Jesus Christ Superstar, Million Dollar Quartet, Grease, Jersey Boys, Les Misérables, Annie, Beauty and the Beast, and Miss Saigon. Gemma has spent eighteen years as part of the PMT Family, serving as Director of Production Operations and as a member of Actors’ Equity Association for PMT’s Professional Company and PMT Conservatory productions. Up next, she will choreograph Matilda at PMT Conservatory. She would like to endlessly thank PMT’s Executive Team, the members of the American Federation of Musicians, and this GROOVY cast and creative team. PRODUCTION CREDITS (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER) Nick Mitchell (Director, Appearing as Knowby) has been an active Director/Actor in Western Pennsylvania for almost two decades since relocating here from NYC. He was last seen in PMT’s Annie. Other favorite roles have been Norm Waxman in Jersey Boys (PMT) Roy Cohn in Angels in America (Elsewhere) Dan Kaffee in A Few Good Men (Academy Theater), and originating the role of Galileo in The Next Galileo (Pittsburgh CLO). He was also a part of the World Premiere of Romero & Juliet at the Greer Theater. Directing highlights include [title of show] (Company of Pittsburgh), Assassins (Stage 62), and Bright Star (Front Porch Theatricals). This is also Nick’s 7th year directing Evil Dead The Musical. Nick studied Music Theater under legends Florence Birdwell and David Herendeen at Oklahoma City University and continues his education today as a student and instructor with Los Angeles based Z/A studios. Nick is the owner of Professional Communications Simulators LLC, a consulting firm that utilizes actors to train medical professionals in empathetic communication for difficult conversations. Nick thanks the entire Evil Dead team, especially his wife Gemma for making this crazy tradition bigger, better, and bloodier every year!

Todd Nonn (Lighting Designer) hails has spent many seasons working on productions with PMT. He is the Technical Director for all of Squonk Opera’s shows touring around the world, the Assistant Lighting Designer for all of Pittsburgh Opera’s performances at the Benedum, a stagehand with IASTE Local#3, and a Lighting Designer at RMU.

Christopher Patrick (Makeup, Wig, & Special FX Designer) has been designing shows for PMT since 2007, and it is such a joy to continue working with them. Christopher works in film television and theater in the Pittsburgh region and is a member of IATSE local 798. As usual with Evil Dead The Musical, we are glad that you could ‘Join Us!’ for a bloody good time!

Tucker Topel (Scenic Designer) (He/Him) is a Pittsburgh based scenic designer and teaching artist, after growing up in the southern Wisconsin area. He is an alum of Point Park University. Favorite local design credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Mercyhurst University), 9 to 5 (Stage 62), Abduction The Musical (MTAP), Meanwhile (CSA Program at The New Hazlett Theater), and HOARD (off the WALL). He also works with local schools including Moon Area HS, Seneca Valley HS, and CAPA Pittsburgh 6-12.

Dr. Francesca Tortorello, D.M.A. (Music Director) is a music director, conductor, collaborative pianist, arranger and teacher and is currently celebrating her seventh season as Resident Music Director at Pittsburgh Musical Theater. Born in Mount Kisco, New York, Francesca began her musical studies at the age of 4. She received her undergrad and graduate degrees in piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music and then completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano and Coaching at The University of Minnesota. Principal teachers include Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Virginia Weckstrom and Timothy Lovelace. Francesca music directs the professional and teen Conservatory shows at PMT, and recent productions include Evil Dead The Musical, Carousel, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Waitress, and Jesus Christ Superstar. She also teaches advanced classes at the PMT Conservatory and regularly creates arrangements and mashups for her students. Francesca is an accomplished classical pianist and regularly collaborates with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and other professional musicians in the city. When not behind the keys, she enjoys crocheting elaborate garments and spending time with her husband and two sons.

PRODUCTION CREDITS (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER) Andonetta Chiarina Trageser (Andi) (Production Assistant) is so excited to work with such an amazing cast and crew on Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s 7th year of Evil Dead! Andi is a 2020 Musical Theater graduate of Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12 as well as PMT Conservatory Alumni. She spent 5 years as a student of the PMT Conservatory and has now returned to the PMT Family as a Resident Artist as well as a Propel Teaching Artist. Previous credits include: Disney’s Newsies (Stage Manager), Beetlejuice JR. (Stage Manager), Big Fish (Stage Manager), Annie (Production Assistant), Waitress (Pastry Captain/ Production Assistant) and Dear Evan Hansen (Production Assistant). Thank you to PMT’s Executive Team for allowing her to live her dreams every day and a special thank you to Nick, Gemma, and Chessie. Andi also would like to dedicate all her work and dedication for this production to her father, Jack Phinney who passed in 2018 and her oldest sister, Cailyn Phinney who passed in 2022.

AUTHOR CREDITS (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER) Christopher Bond is a writer & director from Toronto, Canada. Chris is still honored to have been a creative partner in this musical bloodbath since its inception in 2002. Besides his music, lyrical and development contributions, Chris has directed every large-scale production of Evil Dead, the Musical in North America for the last 20 years, including the show’s US debut Off-Broadway, its return to Canada at the Diesel Playhouse and every national tour. Chris continued to work on irreverent cult horror shows including directing and creating new material for Trey Parker’s Cannibal the Musical (2015 & 2017) and co-writing and directing the official stage adaptation of Night of the Living Dead, where Chris collaborated with horror legend George A. Romero (2013). Other directing credits include, Disenchanted (National Tour), Little Black Dress, (National Tour), We Will Rock You, Forever Plaid, Ghost the Musical, assisting on the North American premiere of Bend it Like Beckham, The Musical. Chris is also a creative lead on the Disney Animation Immersive Experience and co-hosts the We Like Theme Parks Podcast on the Chip & Co. Podcast network.

Frank Cipolla grew up in a small Canadian town, where the overall lack of things to do left him plenty of time to learn how to play many musical instruments. Though he is very proud that his music has been featured off Broadway, at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Cannes Short Film Festival, he is most honoured to have performed at the music mecca CBGB’s in NYC. He currently lives in Toronto, Canada.

Melissa Morris is a composer, director, actor, singer, musician, musical director, playwright, and educator. She is a graduate of Music and Drama at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada and attended Australian National University. Melissa’s career has taken her across North America and the Caribbean, where she has had the pleasure of working at Toronto City Opera, Nightwood Theatre, Chemainus Theatre, Drayton Festival, Theatre Orangeville, Port Hope Festival, Thousand Islands Playhouse, Stirling Theatre, Upper Canada Playhouse, Orillia Opera House, Gravenhurst Opera House, Theatre Collingwood, Theatre Kingston, Royal Conservatory of

She was Resident Musical Director/Composer at St Lawrence Shakespeare Festival for 10 seasons and has directed and musical directed at different companies in Canada. Her one-woman musical, Sweetheart, had a successful premiere in Kingston and online. She is a proud faculty member at Queen’s University, and runs her own private vocal studio in Toronto, Canada, where she teaches and coaches singers and actors of all ages.

George Reinblatt writes musicals and roast jokes (and yes… he is the only person who does both). George has written for multiple Comedy Central Roasts including the Roasts of Justin Bieber, Bruce Willis, James Franco, and Rob Lowe. Other select television writing credits include: Roast Battle (Comedy Central), Roast Battle Canada (CTV), The Burn (Comedy Central), Jeff Ross Roasts Criminals (Comedy Central), NBC New Year’s Eve (NBC), Mr. D (CBC), Just For Laughs (CBC), The Much Music Video Awards (MUCH), and George also wrote a series of toothbrush commercials starring Kevin Hart (look them up on YouTube). George has written comedy for the likes of Steve Martin, Seth Rogen, Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, John Cleese, Kelly Ripa,
