It is with tremendous pride and joy that we welcome you to Annie, the Musical. For generations, Annie has reminded audiences that hope is not naïve — it is powerful. Set against the hardships of the Great Depression, this beloved musical tells the story of a young girl whose resilience, optimism, and belief in tomorrow transform the world around her. In today’s world — when uncertainty can feel ever-present — Annie’s unwavering spirit feels especially relevant. Her courage reminds us that community, compassion, and possibility are forces capable of shaping a brighter future.
At Pittsburgh Musical Theater, this story speaks directly to who we are and why we do what we do. We believe in the transformative power of the arts — to uplift neighborhoods, connect generations, and strengthen the civic fabric of our city.
While we are honored to present Annie in Pittsburgh’s vibrant Cultural District — contributing to the energy, growth, and excitement of the Golden Triangle — PMT proudly lives and thrives in the West End. Our forever home is in a neighborhood rich with history, character, and heart. For decades, we have embraced our role as a cultural catalyst for the West End and the South and West neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, working to strengthen the connection between
We see our presence in the Cultural District not as a departure from our roots, but as an extension of them — a bridge that links the West End to the heart of downtown. Just as Annie finds her place while never forgetting where she began, PMT celebrates opportunity while remaining grounded in the community that shapes us.
Each year, more than 30,000 patrons visit our neighborhood to experience productions at Pittsburgh’s “off-Broadway” venue, the Gargaro Theater, located within the PMT Performing Arts Center in the West End. It is a space alive with creativity, education, and artistic excellence — and one that warmly welcomes audiences from across the region.
We invite you not only to enjoy Annie here in the Cultural District, but also to explore our West End home — to experience its vibrance, its authenticity, and the powerful sense of community that defines who we are.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for supporting the arts. And thank you for believing — as Annie does — that the sun will come out tomorrow.
With gratitude, these communities and the Golden Triangle.
