Nominees for Foundation Trustees BOB ARMSTRONG is originally from Nebraska and relocated with his family to Scottsdale in 2002. He and his wife, Marla, have been active members of Pinnacle since 2003 and have two adult daughters, Alison and Emily. Bob has been a Deacon, Elder, Usher Captain, Greeter and is involved in missions including Open Table, Habitat for Humanity, Andre House and hurricane disaster relief. He was a regional manager for a golf course development company for 25 years before retiring seven years ago to start his own business in franchise consulting and investments. Bob enjoys working in the community and is a leader for various organizations. Other interests include spending time with family, playing golf, spectator sports, movies, reading history and biographies. JIM BACON grew up in Olympia, WA, with stops in Texas and Okinawa. He and Susan have been married for over 50 years and have two sons and four grandchildren. Jim has an MBA and spent 40 years managing cities all over the country where his responsibilities included managing multi-million dollar budgets and employee pension funds. He also served as a County Economic Development Director, worked for a real estate development company and a General Manager for Healthcare Company specializing in the treatment of Alzheimer patients. He has been an Elder and deacon in Presbyterian Churches in the mid-west. Jim joined Pinnacle in 2016, serves on the Personnel Committee and the Fran Park Advisory Board.
JUDI BLANKENBAKER, who is a native of Minneapolis, has lived in Scottsdale and been a member of Pinnacle for 20 years. She has served Pinnacle in many capacities: Elder, Foundation Board, Stewardship Committee, Search Committee, Personnel Committee and Transition Committee. Additionally, Judi serves on the Board and the National Advisory Cabinet for Guideposts. She earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and Masters Degree in Non Profit Management from St. Thomas University. Previously Judi served on several non-profit boards in Minneapolis - Leadership Bloomington, Side by Side (low income therapy), Woman’s Resource Center, and she was appointed to the Board of the Minnesota Zoo, served as a Human Rights Commissioner for Minnesota and University of Minnesota Legislative Committee.
LOUIS EHRHARDT, who is originally from Iowa, graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in accounting. He worked as a CPA in Chicago for 5 years, and as an accounting manager for Honeywell in Minneapolis before transferring to Phoenix. Following an early retirement, Lou worked for an IRS program called “tax counseling for the elderly” for 12 years, as well as an instructor for computer classes at Rio Salado Community College. Lou’s wife, Susan, introduced him to Pinnacle over 10 years ago and he joined the church three years ago. His other Interests include travel, family, and summers in Holland, Michigan, where they are associate members of Third Reformed Church.
H.R. DICK SWANSON and his wife, Elaine, came from Wayzata, MN, and now winter in Arizona. They have been members at Pinnacle since 2002. Dick graduated from the University of Minnesota, spent time in the Air Force, as a 3M sales rep, vice president of real estate at Dayton Hudson Corp (Target’s parent corporation), a commercial real estate developer in Minnesota with his own company and several years in venture investing. Dick enjoys a few hobbies, golf, his three children and eleven grandchildren.
