ONE HOSPITALITY HOUR BECOMES HOMEBAKED COOKIES! 5,500
Fellowship is an important part of our community at Pinnacle. Events and activities throughout the year enhance and enrich members and friends of all ages.
Family ministries hosted Pinnacle’s annual Day at the Ballpark reserving the Pepsi Patio while cheering on the Diamondbacks during a Spring Training Game at Salt River Fields. In the fall 25 Pinnacle fans cheered on the AZ Cardinals during a home game vs Seattle Seahawks.
La Familia, a new social group for families with high school aged children and younger, enjoyed a Christmas brunch. The group hopes to further fellowship opportunities with events to include children such as bowling, water park trips and hikes in 2020.
Our fifty-plus crowd, Amigos, continued to enjoy fellowship throughout the year with their annual Beer and Brats dinner, Lobster Boil and Italian dinner and wine tasting event. And our Pinnacle Hikers enjoyed our beautiful Arizona desert with a total of 16 hikes.
Summer connections are important to Arizona full-time residents. Families enjoy Splash Sundays, water slides, games and ice cream following 10 am worship on select weekends. Women’s Fellowship enjoyed a summer Wednesday series that included bowling, happy hour, and high tea.
Trunk or Treat is an annual outreach opportunity during the Halloween season. Children’s and Music & the Arts Ministries partnered this year to provide the family focused event, dinner & the Phantom of the Organ.
Our annual Easter Eggstravaganza distributed 4,000 Easter eggs to members, guests and community children. Crafts, games, petting zoo and three Easter egg hunts were all a part of the fun!
During the course of any ministry, a congregation welcomes and bids farewell to dedicated, talented and beloved staff. In early June Pinnacle youth and the congregation gathered to say goodbye and celebrate the ministry of Rev. Frank Harmon, who served as Associate Pastor for Youth, Children and their Families for nearly six years. We are grateful for his ministry among Pinnacle.
Dr. Allen Hilton led Pinnacle’s first annual Men's Friendship Retreat in December at the Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center. The Park Center was thrilled to host nearly 50 gentlemen for a day-long examination of the benefits and necessity of deep friendships. Positive feedback and an overwhelming success has encouraged the Park Center to plan a second retreat in 2020.
Not to be left out, Pinnacle’s Women's Fellowship held two gatherings this year. The first in February at our Mardi Gras event where 65 ladies gathered for fellowship, fun and of course a King Cake! We also hosted our 2nd Annual Christmas Tea on December 14 in Fellowship Hall. The hall was transformed into a winter wonderland with each table decorated thematically. "Christmas in Vegas"... "Farmhouse Christmas" and "O' Christmas Tree, O' Christmas Tree." Almost 80 women joined in the spirit for brunch, tea and of course - fellowship! We plan to continue the tradition each year and warmly welcome all women in our community to join in the fun.
This year our weekly Sunday Table got an upgrade with Chef Celine and her kitchen team! Beginning in May, Chef Celine prepared delicious and healthy meals for our community. Each meal requires eight volunteers to set up, prepare and clean up the meal. Thank you to all who have partnered in this ministry! During Advent and Lent we gathered for special dinners and mission projects before our Wednesday Worship services.
In the fall Pinnacle launched Sing for Life Chorus, a community choir designed for those with early to mid-stage dementia and their care partners. Led by David Allen and accompanist, Dr. Ilona Kubiaczyk-Adler, the group met weekly and enjoyed a time of fellowship and singing old familiar tunes.
