Gracious God, we are often swallowed up by our greed and selfishness, desiring that which we do not have. We are often swept away by floods of our own making, polluting your creation and neglecting to be faithful stewards of the earth. We often attack one another and lead lives of violence. Have mercy, Lord, for we have sinned and fallen short of your glory. Have mercy upon us, we pray. † SILENCE FOR PERSONAL CONFESSION
