† PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful God, we do not dwell in your Word as we should and so we do not listen for the voice of your Spirit in our hearts. Too often, our words reflect our own self-serving desires rather than your will. For every failure, we retreat behind excuses. Forgive us, we pray, for the injury our words cause others and the offense they give to you. Reform our hearts, minds, and mouths to become instruments of your love, reconciliation, and peace in what we say and think and do. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Peace and Global Witness Offering- September 26 through October 3

PEACE is active, not passive. It is a verb just as much as a noun. PEACE is doing, not waiting. A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the Presbyterian Church (USA) to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world. Locally, Pine Street retains 25% of this offering, which this year will be used for the support of the Adult Learning Center. COVID-19 UPDATE

In the past few weeks, Central Pennsylvania counties have reached a high positivity rate of COVID 19 transmission. Session recommends that all individuals, no matter their vaccination status, wear masks in public indoor settings where there is a substantial or high transmission rate. Session asks worshipers to comply with these guidelines in consideration of the well-being of children, the immunocompromised, and others who are not eligible to receive the vaccine.
